Today is 25se Boishakh – the 157th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. The day is being observed across the State with full fervour.

A cultural programme was organised by the State Information and Culture Department today at Rabindra Sadan. Titled ‘Kobi Pronam’, the function was inaugurated by the Chief Minister.

Highlights of the CM’s speech:

It is impossible to discuss patriotism, education, culture, environment, love, separation or any other subject with a reference to Rabindranath. He was ‘Bishwa Kobi’ (world poet).

Rabindranath is omnipresent. He belongs to everyone. Poetry, plays, music, painting – he has left his mark in every sphere.

Rabindranath’s writings are our driving force, our inspiration.

Rabindranath showed the way to the rest of the world. It is our pride that he was born in Bengal.

Rabindranath epitomised humamnism, modernism, culture, senstivity, patriotism. Gandhiji gave him the title ‘Gurudev’.

Rabindranath loved people of all communities and classes equally. He stood for unity and harmony, which are burning issues in this day and age. Even, Netaji, Gandhiji and Ambedkar believed in these ideals.

This day is like Bengali new year. Some people call this day World Culture Day, while others celebrate this day as Rabi Dibas.

Rabindranath Tagore is timeless. He will live in our hearts as long as culture and civilization exists on earth.

Rabindranath’s “Where are the mind is without fear” is an inspiration for the youth.

Being oblivious about Rabindranath is like forgetting one’s culture. We will live with our heads held high, following the ideals espoused by Rabindranath. We will not be led astray by intimidation.

With the Panchayat elections in mind, Trinamool Congress Chairperson and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has turned playwright too. After giving ample examples of her talent as an artist, a poet and a writer, she has now turned her attention to street plays.

The play is titled ‘Jayatu’, meaning ‘be victorious’. The 15-minute play, performed by eight actors and actresses, has already been a huge hit in the various districts. On the opening day – May 7– 69 groups performed the play across all the 23 districts. As of now, the plan is for 100 theatre groups to perform 1,200 shows.

The issues highlighted in the play follow three broad themes – the developmental schemes undertaken by the Trinamool Congress Government since coming to power in 2011, which have brought about all-round development of the State, the negative policies of the BJP and the 34-year misrule of the Left Front.

Among the schemes and achievements highlighted are foodgrains at Rs 2 per kg, Kanyashree, Rupashree, fair-price medicine shops in government hospitals, Lokprasar Prakalpa (for folk artistes), Manabik (for the differently abled), setting up of new universities and Kisan Mandis. The various festivals initiated by the State Government across Bengal, Tele Academy Awards, theatre festivals in the districts, the annual Sangeet Mela and other entertainment programmes are also highlighted.

As far as the BJP is concerned, highlighted have been the communal politics that the party is indulging across the country, including in Bengal, like encouraging processions with weapons on Ram Navami, and disastrous policies like demonetisation. Through the play, the three-decade long disastrous rule of the Left Front has also been brought into focus.

Mahishadal Shilpakriti, Laksha Padatik, Rajarshi Raghunandan Chhau and Drama Academy, Bally Ankur, Sonarpur Abirbhab and many other theatre groups are staging the plays. The play was staged and its video, as well as the script, were sent to all the participating theatre groups to bring about uniformity in performances.

Many students of Bengal appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 were visibly upset on Sunday, May 6, as they found out that their question papers in Bengali were filled with errors and there were ambiguities in many of the questions. In many cases, there was no proper Bengali translation. Students lost precious time over spelling errors, bizarre words and translation errors.

Over 59,000 students appeared for the examination across the State. There was a palpable sense of anger and dismay outside the exam centres as the students who sat for answering it in Bengali felt they had been wronged. One student, on the condition of anonymity, said, “I have worked so hard to prepare for this exam. Now I feel all my work has gone down the drain. The Centre is penalising us students who have studied in State Board schools. ICSE and CBSE students are getting an unfair advantage while students who have studied in vernacular languages are suffering”.

Trinamool Congress, along with the DMK, were the first to strongly raise their voice over this issue in Parliament.
Trinamool’s Derek O’Brien addressed the HRD Minister and said, “This year in Bengal and Tamil Nadu, out of 56,000 people who took that exam, 40,000 wrote it in Bengali; they got a separate paper, and the results have been disastrous. Those boys and girls, in our two States of Tamil Nadu and Bengal have been deprived”.

In the previous year also there was a furore over the standard of the question paper in most vernacular languages, with the medical aspirants from Bengal and from some other States alleging that their questions were much tougher than the ones in made in English and Hindi.

National President of All India Trinamool Youth Congress, Abhishek Banerjee addresses a huge mass rally at Kechenda High School at Khatra on Friday where he slammed the BJP for not fulfilling the promises it made to the people.

He also highlighted the work done by the West Bengal Government in the last seven years. He said: “The work done by Mamata Banerjee led government for establishing peace in Jangalmahal is unprecedented. Not even 10 per cent of this work was done here since independence. To continue the tides of development in Jangalmahal, I appeal to the people to ensure Trinamool wins in every seat in the upcoming three-tier Panchayat polls.”

He also attacked the BJP for not fulfilling the promises it made to the people. He said, “Narendra Modi has failed to deliver the promises it made. They should not seek votes from the people again. People have seen both CPI(M) and BJP in power. None of them delivered their promises. For 34 years, Jangalmahal was a hub of Maoists. There was only bloodshed. Now only peace reigns here. But BJP-ruled States have failed to put an end to Maoist violence. In Bengal, not a single death due to Maoist violence has been reported in the last six years.”

He also alleged that Opposition parties know they cannot win in the elections, so they have gone to court.

 

কথা রাখেনি বিজেপি সরকারঃ অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

শুক্রবার খাতড়া থানার কেচন্দা হাই স্কুল মাঠে নির্বাচনী জনসভা করেন যুব তৃণমূলের সর্বভারতীয় সভাপতি তথা সাংসদ অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

তৃণমূল সরকারের কাজের খতিয়ান তুলে ধরে বলেন, ‘‌মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সরকার জঙ্গলমহলে শান্তি এবং উন্নয়নকে ত্বরান্বিত করতে যা যা করেছে, তা এককথায় নজিরবিহীন। স্বাধীনতার পর কোনও সরকার জঙ্গলমহল বা এই জেলার জন্য তার ১০ শতাংশ কাজও করেনি। তাই শান্তি এবং উন্নয়নের ধারাকে অব্যাহত রাখতে জঙ্গলমহলবাসী সব ক’‌টি গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত, পঞ্চয়েত সমিতি এবং জেলা পরিষদে তৃণমূলকে জয়যুক্ত করুন।’‌‌

এদিন বিজেপি–কে কড়া আক্রমণ করলেন যুব তৃণমূল সভাপতি বলেন, ‘‌কথা রাখেনি বিজেপি সরকার। ক্ষমতায় আসার সময় নরেন্দ্র মোদি যা যা প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলেন, তার কোনওটাই পালন করতে পারেননি। তাই ওদের উচিত নয় মানুষের কাছে ফের ভোট চাওয়া।’

বিজেপি–সিপিএমের সমালোচনা করে বলেন, ‘‌দুটি রাজনৈতিক দলকেই মানুষ পরীক্ষা করে দেখে নিয়েছেন। এরা যা যা প্রতিশ্রুতি দেয়, তা রক্ষা করতে পারে না। সিপিএমের ৩৪ বছরের রাজত্বে এই জঙ্গলমহল ছিল মাওবাদীদের দখলে। তখন শুধু রক্ত ঝরত এখানে। মানুষের স্বাভাবিক জীবনযাপনের সুযোগ ছিল না। আজ সেই জঙ্গলমহলে নিরবচ্ছিন্ন শান্তি এবং উন্নয়নের জোয়ার বয়ে চলেছে। বিজেপি বলেছিল, তাদের শাসিত রাজ্যগুলি থেকে মাওবাদী উপদ্রব বন্ধ করবে। কিন্তু বিজেপি–‌শাসিত একাধিক রাজ্যে আজও মাওবাদীরা অশান্তি সৃষ্টি করে চলেছে, মানুষ খুন করছে। অথচ গত ৬ বছরে এই রাজ্যে মাওবাদীদের হাতে একজনেরও মৃত্যুর খবর নেই।’‌

তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘‌এই জেলায় কিছু কিছু আসনে তৃণমূল বিনা প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতায় নির্বাচিত হয়েছে। বিরোধীরা বুঝতে পেরেছে, নির্বাচনে লড়ে জিততে পারবে না। তাই তারা নির্বাচন থেকে সরে দাঁড়িয়েছে। তাদের শুভবুদ্ধির উদয় হয়েছে।’‌বিরোধীদের বিরুদ্ধে ভোট বানচালেরও অভিযোগ করে তিনি বলেন, ‘‌জিততে পারবে না বলেই তারা বারে বারে আদালতে যাচ্ছে।’‌

A delegation of AITC Parliamentary Party, along with the family members of party workers killed by BJP in pre-poll violence, today called on the Hon’ble President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Every family member described in detail to the Hon’ble President the horrors unleashed upon them by the Opposition.

Respected President,

At the outset, we, the Members of the Parliament, belonging to the All India Trinamool Congress, would like to convey our highest regards to you.

We would like to apprise you of some issues which have been brought to your kind notice very recently by the Members of the Ruling political party at the Centre, which are distorted and misleading in nature.

Respected Sir, Panchayat election is a local election, where more than 58 thousand booths throughout West Bengal will go for the polls on 14 May 2018. At the time of filing nomination papers, the BJP started spreading rumours and misleading the people, saying that opposition parties are not being allowed to file nominations. This was spread through one particular ‘sponsored’ media group.

The fact that the Opposition has not been able to submit nominations is not at all true, as more than 96 thousand nominations have been filed by the Opposition parties. If they have not been allowed to file nomination papers, how is it possible that more than 2 lakh nominations in total have been filed? Out of these, more than 96 thousand are from the Opposition. During the period of filing nominations, the entire administration from district level to the block level, along with the police officials worked together for the common people.

Respected Sir, few incidents, however, did take place. These have been over-projected through one particular ‘sponsored’ media group to tarnish the image of the Government, which has worked wonders in West Bengal after being voted to power in 2011.

Before 2011, political violence was the maximum in West Bengal. In Jangal Mahal itself, more than 300 people were killed. At that time, man-days lost due to bandhs and strikes were about 78 lakh.

The picture changed dramatically after the All India Trinamool Congress Party came to power in 2011. While Darjeeling and Jangal Mahal are totally peaceful, there is zero man-days loss in the State of West Bengal.

Respected Sir, you would no doubt appreciate that West Bengal now has become Number One in the country in the spheres detailed below:

  • Number One in man-days generation and total expenditure under 100-Days’ Work
  • Number One in Bank Credit Flows to the MSME Sector
  • Number One in the Ease of Doing Business
  • Number One in Minority Scholarships
  • Number One in Minority Loans (for self-employment)
  • Number One in Rural Housing
  • Number One in Rural Connectivity
  • Number One in Skills
  • Number One in Transparency and e-Tendering

 

In order to tarnish the image of West Bengal and to mislead the people by citing some incidents, the BJP got themselves involved in lynching and killing by hiring people from outside the State and fomenting communal violence.

Respected Sir, you will be shocked and saddened to learn that 5 murder cases took place very recently and all the persons killed belong to the All India Trinamool Congress Party. The list of persons killed is given below:

  1. On 11.04.18, around 17.00 hrs, some supporters of TMC Party assembled near Beliaghata Bridge Party Office under Shasan Police Station, Basirhat Police District to celebrate the uncontested victory in c/w the Falti Beliaghata Gram Panchayat. During the celebration, one Rajab Ali of Uttar Falti stabbed one Saifar Rahaman of Dakshin Baidyapur and fled away. The said Saifar expired on the way to hospital.
  2. On 22.04.18, around 05.00 hrs, one Abdul Ali Mondal along with three others all of Nityananda Kati under Basirhat Police Station, North 24 Parganas allegedly murdered one Amirul Mollick of the same area by slashing the throat and dumped the body in the drain near his house. The deceased belongs to TMC Party.
  3. On 14.04.18, around 16.30 hrs, one Kala Das of Fulbari along with 15 others restrained and assaulted one Bablu Sarkar, member of TMC, of Kethi near Nabaganj Bazar under Ghoksadanga Police Station of Coochbehar district, with the intention to kill, while returning home riding a bike. He was taken to the nearest hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on 20.04.2018. Arrest-03.
  4. On 23.04.18, around 11.30 hrs., while one Dildar Khan along with his wife was proceeding towards Suri-I BDO Office under Suri Police Station, Birbhum for filing nomination in respect of his wife as a TMC candidate in c/w ensuring Panchayat Election 2018, some armed BJP supporters led by one Shyamsundar Lorain shot dead the said  Dildar Khan over political rivalry.
  5. On 19.04.18, one Ajit Debnath of Sundarpore Satberia, PS Gopalnagar was shot at night while at home; hesubsequently succumbed to his injuries in hospital on 22.04.18. His wife Padma was also injured in the attack; however, she survived.

 

It is very unfortunate that we have to bring this to your kind attention that in each and every murder, as described above, the BJP is involved.

Respected Sir, we do sincerely hope and know that your high office would appreciate the true situation on the ground perpetrated by a section of political parties opposed to peaceful democratic processes in Bengal. We appeal to you in the best interest of peace and democracy, to outright reject their malicious campaign and unfounded allegations.

Bengal has been adjudged the best State in the country in the prevention of parent-to-child transmission of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), which leads to AIDS. This happy news was shared by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in a Facebook post yesterday.

“I am happy to share with all of you that as per the assessment done by NACO for ‘Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission of HIV’ programme for 2017-18, West Bengal has emerged No. 1 in the country,” the post read.

NACO, or the National AIDS Control Organisation, is a Central Government agency under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It has played an important role in controlling the spread of HIV and the treatment of AIDS since the early 1990s.

Through her post, Mamata Banerjee has also shared that, with the proper implementation of the Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission (PPCT) programme, the State Government has enabled 16.5 lakh pregnant women from Bengal in preventing the transmission of HIV to their newborn children. For those adults and children found HIV positive, the Government provides free treatment through Anti-Retroviral Therapy Centres situated in sub-divisional, district and medical college hospitals.

Last but not the least, the Chief Minister has conveyed her best wishes to all those involved in the programme, from doctors and health staff, NGO volunteers and the parents themselves.

 

এইচ আই ভি নির্মূলে সর্বোচ্চ স্বীকৃতি পেল পশ্চিমবঙ্গ

বাবা-মায়ের থেকে সন্তানদের শরীরে এইচ আই ভি ভাইরাসের সংক্রমণ প্রতিরোধে দেশের মধ্যে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সবচেয়ে ভালো কাজ করছে। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় নিজের ফেসবুক পোস্টে একথা ঘোষণা করেছেন।

‘প্রিভিশন অফ পেরেন্ট টু চাইল্ড ট্রান্সমিশন অফ এইচ আই ভি প্রকল্পের ২০১৭-১৮ র কাজে বাংলা এক নম্বর স্থান অধিকার করেছে। কেন্দ্রীয় ন্যাশনাল এইডস অর্গানাইজেশন (ন্যাকো) এই স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছে।

ফেসবুক পোস্টে জানানো হয়েছে, এই প্রকল্পের অধীনে এ রাজ্যের ১৬ লক্ষ ৫০ হাজার গর্ভবতী মহিলা সুফল পেয়েছেন। এছাড়াও যারা এইচ আই ভি পজিটিভ পাওয়া যায় তাদের সম্পূর্ণ বিনামূল্যে চিকিৎসা-পরিষেবা দেয় রাজ্য সরকার।

The State Government has chalked out a unique plan of developing cultural tourism in the Darjeeling Hills region by showcasing the customs, food habits and rituals of the tribal groups residing there.

West Bengal Khadi and Village Industries Board (WBKVIB), which comes under the aegis of the State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department will be executing the project. WBKVIB has signed memorandums of understanding (MoU) with 15 of the culture and development boards set up by the government.

For each of these boards, WBKVIB will set up Folk Art Centres, where the tribal people will be able to showcase their traditional dress, weapons, musical instruments and other specialties. Handicrafts will also be available for display as well as sale at these centres. Each of the boards will be allocated a sum of Rs 2 to 3 lakh.

More than eight of the 15 development boards have already earmarked land for the Folk Art Centres. The rest will complete the work soon. These centres will be projected as tourist destinations by the State Tourism Department.

 

আদিবাসী সংস্কৃতি তুলে ধরা হবে পাহাড়ের পর্যটনকে উন্নীত করতে 

রাজ্য সরকার পরিকল্পনা করেছে পাহাড়ের পর্যটনকে আরও একধাপ উন্নত করতে এবার পাহাড়ের বিভিন্ন আদিবাসী জনগোষ্ঠীর রীতি, খাদ্যাভাস ও অনুষ্ঠানকে তুলে ধরা হবে।

ওয়েস্ট বেঙ্গল খাদি অ্যান্ড ভিলেজ ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজ বোর্ড এই প্রকল্প রূপায়নের দায়িত্বে আছে। এবিষয়ে ১৫টি (গোর্খা, নেপালি, লেপচা, মায়েল, তামাং, শেরপা, ভুটিয়া, খাম্বুরাই, মানগড়, লিম্বু, নেওয়ার, খাস, কামী, ধিমাল, ভুজেল) সংস্কৃতি উন্নয়ন কেন্দ্রর সঙ্গে এ বিষয়ে মউ স্বাক্ষরিত হয়েছে। প্রতিটি কেন্দ্রের জন্য লোক শিল্প কেন্দ্র গড়া হবে। এই কেন্দ্র গুলিতে আদিবাসীরা তাদের পারম্পরিক বেশভূষা, অস্ত্র, বাদ্যযন্ত্র ও অন্যান্য সামগ্রী সকলের সামনে তুলে ধরবেন। এতে পাহাড়ে পর্যটনের আকর্ষণ আরও বাড়বে।

গত মার্চে অনুষ্ঠিত পাহাড়ের সম্মেলনে আধিকারিকরা এই উন্নয়ন বোর্ডের প্রতিনিধিদের সঙ্গে দেখা করেন ও তাদের জমি খোঁজার নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন যেখানে সরকার এই লোক শিল্প কেন্দ্রগুলি গড়বে। ইতিমধ্যেই আটটি উন্নয়ন বোর্ড জমি খুঁজে পেয়েছে।

আদিবাসীদের তৈরী জিনিসপত্রও থাকবে এই কেন্দ্রগুলিতে। প্রতি উন্নয়ন বোর্ডকে এর জন্য ২ থেকে ৩ লক্ষ টাকা দেওয়া হবে। প্রতি উপজাতির পোশাক আলাদা, তাদের অস্ত্রও আলাদা ধরনের। তারা তাদের পারম্পরিক গান ও নাচের মাধ্যমে তাদের অনুষ্ঠান পালন করে।

এসবের মাধ্যমে পর্যটকদের খুব ভালো করে আকর্ষিত করা যাবে। এই প্রকল্পের জন্য অর্থ দপ্তর ইতিমধ্যেই ১৫ কোটি টাকা ধার্য করেছে।মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের বিশেষ পরিকল্পনা আছে দেশী ও বিদেশী পর্যটকদের কাছে পাহাড়ের পর্যটনকে তুলে ধরার।

To encourage more young tourists, the Bengal Government has decided to come up with more facilities for adventure tourism across the state, and enable private ventures too.

For this, is will soon come up with a comprehensive policy. The draft policy has already been made. A primary aspect of the policy would be safety features, which would be strictly enforced.

Facilities would be developed in Digha, Tajpur, Mandarmani, Darjeeling, Kalimpong and other popular spots. New spots would also be developed based on adventure tourism. Beach biking, river rafting, kayaking, paragliding, etc. would be developed.

 

তরুণ প্রজন্মকে টানতে অ্যাডভেঞ্চার ট্যুরিজমে জোর

তরুণ প্রজন্ম ও বিদেশীদের বাংলায় টেনে আনতে ‘অ্যাডভেঞ্চার ট্যুরিজম’-এ জোর দিচ্ছে রাজ্য সরকার। এজন্য বিশেষজ্ঞদের দিয়ে পরিকল্পনা তৈরী করা হচ্ছে।

শীঘ্রই নতুন ভাবে পর্যটন নীতি কার্যকর হতে চলেছে, যার খসড়াও ইতিমধ্যে তৈরী করে ফেলেছেন দপ্তরের আধিকারিকরা। রাজ্যের দিঘা, তাজপুর, মন্দারমণি, দার্জিলিং, কালিম্পঙের মতো পাহাড়, নদী কিংবা সমুদ্রে ঘেরা বিভিন্ন পর্যটনক্ষেত্রে অ্যাডভেঞ্চার রাইডিংকে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেওয়ার পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে দপ্তর। এক্ষেত্রে বিচ বাইকিং, রিভার র্যাবফটিং, প্যারাগ্লাইডিং কিংবা ক্লিফ ডাইভিংয়ের মতো রোমহর্ষক রাইডিং দ্রুত চালুর ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়েছে।

পুরোদমে অ্যাডভেঞ্চার ট্যুরিজম চালুর আগে পর্যটকদের নিরাপত্তার দিকটি সুরক্ষিত করা হবে। শুধুমাত্র নানা ধরনের রাইডিংই নয়, পর্যটনক্ষেত্রে আরও আকর্ষণীয় করে তুলতে একগুচ্ছ নতুন পরিকল্পনার কথা ভাবছে রাজ্য সরকার।

ডুয়ার্সের ঘন জঙ্গলের মাঝে বনবাংলোয় কিংবা তাজপুর, মন্দারমণির সমুদ্রের তীরে প্রতি শনি ও রবিবার নানা ধরনের সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজন করার কথা ভাবা হচ্ছে। স্থানীয় লোকশিল্পীরাই এই অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ নেবেন। এতে পর্যটকদের বিনোদনের পাশাপাশি শিল্পীদের আয়েরও ব্যবস্থা হবে।

The State Government has set up a committee under the chairpersonship of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2. The committee was formed on April 18.

There are 46 members in the committee. Members of the committee include members of Parliament (MP) Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Subrata Bakshi, Minister of State for Health Chandrima Bhattacharya and Chief Secretary Malay De. Vice-chancellors of Calcutta University, Rabindra Bharati University, Presidency University and Jadavpur University were also present in the meeting.

It has been decided that on October 2, a programme will be organised at Gandhi Bhavan, for which the government is chalking out a detailed plan.

Based on the philosophy of Gandhiji, elocution and essay competitions will be held in schools, colleges and other educational institutions in order to spread the messages of Gandhiji among the people, particularly the youth. A booklet named Father of the Nation, containing speeches of Gandhiji on different issues including communal harmony, national integration and patriotism, will be published on October 2.

Universities in the state will also organise programmes to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Presidency University has a centre on Gandhian awareness, where they will organise seminars and symposiums in this regard.

It has also been decided that Gandhi Bhavan, now being maintained by the PWD Department, would be completely taken over the State Government for better maintenance as it is a heritage structure. A permanent chair in the name of Mahatma Gandhi would be instituted in Calcutta University.

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বে গান্ধীজির স্বার্ধশতবর্ষ উদযাপন কমিটি গড়ল রাজ্য সরকার । এই কমিটি গঠন হয় ১৮ই এপ্রিল, কমিটির সদস্য সংখ্যা ৪৬ জন। কমিটিতে সাংসদ, মন্ত্রীরাও আছেন। কমিটির প্রথম বৈঠকে বেশ কয়েকটি সিদ্ধান্ত গৃহীত হয়, উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সহ উপাচার্যরাও।

কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে একটি স্থায়ী চেয়ার করা হবে গান্ধীজির নামে।বেলেঘাটার গান্ধীভবন যা বর্তমানে দেখাশোনা করে পূর্ত দপ্তর, সেটিকেও পুরোপুরিভাবে রাজ্য সরকার অধিগ্রহণ করবে। এই হেরিটেজ বাড়ির সংস্কার ও রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ করবে রাজ্য।

এবছর ২রা অক্টোবর ওই বাড়িতে একটি বর্ণাঢ্য অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হবে। রাজ্য সরকার এই অনুষ্ঠানসূচী তৈরী করবে। গান্ধীজির পদাঙ্ক অনুসরণ করে স্কুল, কলেজ, অন্যান্য শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে আবৃত্তি পাঠ ও রচনা লেখার প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করা হবে। গান্ধীজির বার্তা রাজ্যের মানুষের মধ্যে বিশেষত যুবদের মধ্যে প্রচার করার কর্মসূচী নেওয়া হয়েছে।

গান্ধীজির ভাষণ লিপিবদ্ধ একটি পুস্তক যার নাম রাখা হয়েছে ‘জাতির জনক’, প্রকাশিত হবে ২রা অক্টোবর। যেহেতু ভারতের স্বাধীনতা আন্দোলনে পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরের খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা আছে, ওখানকার কোনও একটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে গান্ধীজির নামাঙ্কিত করা হবে। রাজ্যের অন্যান্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলিতেও বিভিন্ন ভাবে স্বার্ধশতবর্ষ উদযাপন করা হবে। গান্ধীজির বিষয়ে মানুষের জ্ঞান বাড়াতে প্রেসিডেন্সি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে একটি কেন্দ্র আছে। সেখানেও সেমিনার ও সম্মেলনের আয়োজন করা হবে।

On June 25, 2014, heeding to a long-standing demand of the people, Aliupurduar was made a new district, the state’s 20th one. This has helped the people of the region to more easily access the various government services. The creation of the new district has also helped in the proper distribution of developmental efforts.

Over the last six-and-a-half years, the Trinamool Congress Government has undertaken large-scale developmental activities in the Alipurduar region, which was then part of the district of Cooch Behar. In the last one year, these activities have become more focused after the formation of Jhargram.

Tabulated below are the important developments:

 

Uttrakanya

For people to better access the government for its services, the government set up a secretariat for the districts of north Bengal – Uttarkanya. Besides offices of the State Government, the secretariat also houses officials of pension, provident fund and group insurance. As a result of the opening of Uttarkanya, people of the region no longer have to run to Kolkata for accessing most government services.

 

Dooarskanya

An administrative building for the district of Alipurduar named Dooarskanya has been built at a cost of Rs 50 crore. It houses district administrative offices of about 40 departments, including the office of the district’s superintendent of police. As a result, it has become very convenient for the people of the district to access various services.

 

Health and Family Welfare

Multi/Super-speciality hospital: 1 set up in Falakata

Fair-price medicine shops: 2 set up at Alipurduar District Hospital and Birpara State General Hospital; buying from these fair-price shops has resulted in more than 85,000 people getting discounts of more than Rs 2.83 crore

Fair-price diagnostic centre: 3 set up at Alipurduar District Hospital

SNSU: 8 sick newborn stabilisation units set up in Birpara, Bhatipara, Falakata, Jashodanga, Kamakhyaguri, Panchkolguri, Uttar Lataguri and Madarihat

SNCU: 2 sick newborn care units set up at Alipurduar District Hospital and Birpara State General Hospital

Backward Classes Welfare Department

Shikshashree: More than 2.44 lakh students have received scholarships under the scheme

SC/ST/OBC certificates: More than 80,000 people handed over SC/ST/OBC certificates

Development boards: 2 boards created for the development of Gorkhas and Adivasis in the Terai-Dooars region

Adivasi employment: People from Adivasi communities employed in the district village eco-tourism project called Blue Home Stay (a network of homestays, the buildings being painted blue)

 

Women and Child Development and Social Welfare

Kanyashree: More than 60,000 girls brought under the ambit of the Kanyashree Scheme

 

Food security

Khadya Sathi: As part of the scheme, 100% of the eligible population of Alipurduar (more than 15.8 lakh) being given foodgrains at Rs 2 per kg (or at half the market price)

 

Tea gardens

More than 12 lakh people reside in the approximately 280 tea gardens in the state. The State Government provides a wide range of services for them, like housing, drinking water supply, ration, health services, etc.

 

  • For the families of all tea garden workers in Alipurduar district, 35 kg foodgrains (15 kg rice and 20 kg wheat) is being provided every month at the rate of Rs 2 per kg
  • Ration shops in Dheklapara and Dalmore being successfully run by self-help groups
  • Drinking water projects completed in Dhumchipara, Garganda and Mujnai tea gardens in Madarihat block
  • 25 anganwadi centres set up in the tea gardens of the district

 

PWD and Transport

Projects completed: PWD Department has completed more than 60 projects like roads, bridges, etc. by investing about Rs 315 crore

Bridges: Bridges built over Basra and Bala rivers in Kalchini, and over Cheko and Nonai rivers on Alipurduar-Kumargram road

Roads: About 65% of the part of Asian Highway-48 connecting Bhutan and Bangladesh completed; about 330 km of roads built/renovated/widened, among which the important ones are Alipurduar-Kumargram road, Kumargram-Jorai road, Telepara-Timarighat road, Dalgaon-Gumtu road, Kalchini-Jaigaon road, Dhupguri-Falakata road and Rajabhatkhawa road

Bus terminals: Jaigaon Development Board has built in Jaigaon a modern bus terminus and a second entry gate to Bhutan; an international-standard bus terminus being built at a cost of Rs 28 crore in Alipurduar

Baitarani: As part of Baitarani Scheme, 8 burning ghats being renovated, 1 electric crematorium being built

Gatidhara: Through Gatidhara Scheme, about 130 youths managed to buy vehicles for commercial use

আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলার উন্নয়ন- এক নজরে

রাজ্য ও অন্যান্য জেলার সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে অভূতপূর্ব উন্নয়ন ঘটেছে আলিপুরদুয়ার  জেলায়।

নতুন জেলা আলিপুরদুয়ার

সমগ্র উত্তরবঙ্গের মানুষের সুবিধার্থে উত্তরবঙ্গে আমরা আগেই স্থাপন করেছি রাজ্য সরকারের শাখা সচিবালয়- ‘উত্তরকন্যা’। এখানে অন্যান্য বিভাগের সাথে সাথে পেনশন, ভবিষ্যনিধি এবং গ্রুপ ইনস্যুরেন্স অধিকর্তার একটি শাখা কার্যালয়ও চালু হয়ে গেছে। এর দরুন সমগ্র উত্তরবঙ্গের মানুষজনকে আজ আর সরকারি কাজের জন্যে কলকাতায় ছূটে যেতে হয় না। সরকারি কাজ এবং পরিষেবা মানুষের কাছে আরও দ্রুততার সাথে পৌছে যাচ্ছে।

এর পাশাপাশি ২০১৪ সালের ২৫শে জুন, এই অঞ্চলের মানুষজনের দীর্ঘদিনের দাবিকে সম্মান জানিয়ে, জলপাইগুড়ি জেলাকে বিভক্ত করে, আলিপুরদুয়ারকে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ২০তম জেলা হিসেবে ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। এর ফলে আলিপুরদুয়ারের মানুষের সরকারি এবং অন্যান্য কাজে প্রভূত সুবিধা হয়েছে।

সম্প্রতি আলিপুরদুয়ারে উদ্বোধন করা হয়েছে রাজ্যের প্রথম সুসংহত কার্যালয় ভবন- ‘ডুয়ার্সকন্যা’। প্রায় ৫০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে নির্মিত এই ভবনটিতে, একই ছাদের তলায় অবস্থান করছে জেলা প্রশাসনের সবকটি বিভাগীয় কার্যালয়, জেলা স্বাস্থ্য আধিকারিকের কার্যালয়, পুলিশ সুপারের কার্যালয় প্রভৃতি সহ প্রায় ৪০ টি দপ্তর। এর ফলে,জেলার মানুষের সরকারি এবং অন্যান্য কাজে প্রভূত সুবিধা হয়েছে। এটি শুধুমাত্র রাজ্যের নয়, সারা দেশের মডেল।

স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণ

  • এই জেলার ফালাকাটায় গড়ে উঠেছে একটি নতুন মাল্টি-সুপার স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতাল।
  • আলিপুরদুয়ার হাসপাতালে এবং বীরপাড়া স্টেট জেনারেল হাসপাতালে ২টি ন্যায্য মুল্যের ঔষধের দোকান চালু হয়ে গেছে। জেলার এই ন্যায্য মুল্যের ঔষধের দোকান থেকে ঔষধ কেনার ফলে ৮৫ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষ, ২ কোটি ৮৫ লক্ষ টাকারও বেশি ছাড় পেয়েছেন।
  • আলিপুরদুয়ার হাসপাতালে ৩টি ন্যায্য মুল্যের ডায়াগ্নস্টিক পরিষেবা চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • এই জেলায় ৮টি SNSU চালু হয়ে গেছে (বীরপাড়া, ভাটিবাড়ি, ফালাকাটা, যশোডাঙ্গা, কামাক্ষ্যাগুড়ি, পাঞ্চকেলগুড়ি, উত্তর লাটাগুড়ি ও মাদারিহাট)।
  • আলিপুরদুয়ার হাসপাতালে এবং বীরপাড়া স্টেট জেনারেল হাসপাতালে ২টি SNCU চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলা হাসপাতালে CCU/HDU, থ্যালাসেমিয়া কন্ট্রোল ইউনিট ও স্কিল্‌স ল্যাব চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • তপসিখাতাতে একটি ৫০-শয্যার আয়ুষ হাসপাতাল চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • ‘স্বাস্থ্যসাথী’ প্রকল্পে এই জেলায় প্রায় ৯১ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষ নথিভুক্ত হয়েছেন।
  • ‘শিশুসাথী’ প্রকল্পে, এই জেলার ১৫৫-রও বেশি বাচ্চার সফল অস্ত্রোপচার করা হয়েছে।

 

শিক্ষা

  • আলিপুরদুয়ারে গড়ে তোলা হবে একটি নতুন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়।
  • এই জেলার, ফালাকাটা ও সোনাপুরে ২ টি নতুন সরকারি কলেজ গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে।
  • কুমারগ্রাম ও কালাচিনিতে ২টি নতুন আই.টি.আই কলেজ নির্মান করা হয়েছে।
  • দমনপুরে নতুন পলিটেকনিক কলেজ গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে।
  • ‘উৎকর্ষ বাংলা’ কর্মসুচিতে, জেলার ৮ হাজারেরও বেশি যুবক-যুবতীকে প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায়, ১ লক্ষ ১৬ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্র-ছাত্রীকে ‘সবুজ সাথী’ প্রকল্পে সাইকেল প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • কালচিনি ও মাদারীহাটে ২ টি নতুন মডেল স্কুল নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।
  • পাতলাখাওয়ায় একটি পি.টি.টি.আই কলেজের নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।জেলায়, গত সাড়ে ছ-বছরে, প্রায় ২৫ টি মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়কে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় স্তরে উন্নীত করা হয়েছে।
  • সব স্কুলে মিড-ডে মিল চলছে, যার ফলে পুষ্টি এবং উপস্থিতির হার বেড়েছে এবং স্কুল-ছুট ছাত্র-ছাত্রীর সংখ্যা কমেছে।
  • প্রতিটি বিদ্যালয়ে ছেলে ও মেয়েদের জন্য পৃথক শৌচাগার নির্মিত হয়েছে।

 

ভূমি সংস্কার, কৃষি ও পশুপালন

  • জেলার প্রায় সাড়ে ৬ হাজারেরও বেশি যোগ্য ভূমিহীন পরিবারের হাতে ‘নিজ গৃহ নিজ ভূমি’ প্রকল্পে পাট্টা তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে। এছাড়া, প্রায় সাড়ে ৩ হাজারেরও বেশি  কৃষি ও বনাধিকার পাট্টা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলার, প্রায় ৭৬% কৃষক পরিবারকে কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ডের আওতাভুক্ত করা হয়েছে। বাকীদেরও খুব দ্রুত কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ড প্রদান করা হচ্ছে।
  • এই জেলার আলিপুরদুয়ার-১, আলিপুরদুয়ার-২, ফালাকাটা, কুমারগ্রাম, কালচিনি ও মাদারিহাট-বীরপাড়ায় ৬টি ‘কিষাণ মান্ডি’ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • ফালাকাটায় ব্লক-স্তরে মৎস্য পরীক্ষাগার ও প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র গড়ে তোলার ফলে প্রচুর মৎস্যজীবি এবং তাঁদের পরিবার উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • জেলায় প্রাণী সম্পদ উন্নয়ন দপ্তর, ৫ লক্ষ ১৫ হাজারেরও বেশি হাঁস ও মুরগীর বাচ্চা বিতরণ করেছে।

 

পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন

  • আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলায় ১০০-দিনের কাজে, ৬৬৫ কোটি টাকারও বেশি ব্যয় করে প্রায় ২ কোটি ৭৫ লক্ষ শ্রম দিবস সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।
  • জেলার প্রায় ২৮ হাজার মানুষ গ্রামীণ আবাসন যোজনায় উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • এই জেলার আরও প্রায় ৮ হাজার ২০০ জন উপভোক্তাকে বাড়ি তৈরির সহায়তা দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় গ্রামীণ সড়ক যোজনায় ১৬০ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মিত হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায় আরও প্রায় ৩৫০ কি.মি. রাস্তা নির্মাণ/সংস্কারের সূচনা করা হয়েছে।
  • ‘সমব্যাথী’ প্রকল্পে জেলার প্রায় ২ হাজার ৮৯০ জন উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • জেলায় ‘মিশন নির্মল বাংলা’ প্রকল্পে প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৮০ হাজার শৌচালয় নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে- যা লক্ষ্যমাত্রার ১০০%।

 

সংখ্যালঘু উন্নয়ন

  • গত সাড়ে ছ-বছরে, এই জেলায় প্রায় ৫৫ হাজার সংখ্যালঘু ছাত্র-ছাত্রীকে প্রায় ১৩ কোটি টাকার স্কলারশিপ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • এছাড়া, স্বনির্ভরতার জন্য সংখ্যালঘু যুবক-যুবতীদের, প্রায় ৭ কোটি টাকা ঋণ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • IMDP ও MSDP-তে, প্রায় ১৮ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের উন্নয়নে বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প রূপায়িত করা হয়েছে।
  • এই দুটি প্রকল্পে, জেলায় ৩৫০টিরও বেশি হেল্‌থ সাব-সেন্টার, অতিরিক্ত শ্রেণী কক্ষ, অঙ্গনওয়ারী কেন্দ্র, বাসগৃহ ইত্যাদি গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায় ১টি ‘কর্মতীর্থ’ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

অনগ্রসর কল্যাণ ও আদিবাসী উন্নয়ন

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, এই জেলায় ২ লক্ষ ৪৪ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্র-ছাত্রী ‘শিক্ষাশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে সহায়তা পেয়েছে।
  • আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলায় বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ৮০ হাজারেরও বেশি SC/ST/OBC Certificate প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • তরাই-ডুয়ার্স অঞ্চলের গোর্খা ও আদিবাসী মানুষের উন্নয়নের জন্য ২টি পূর্ণ বোর্ড গঠন করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলার বনাঞ্চলে ভিলেজ ইকো-ট্যুরিজ্‌ম প্রকল্প- ‘ব্লু হোম স্টে’(Blue Home Stay)তে আদিবাসী সম্প্রদায়ের কর্মসংস্থান করা হচ্ছে।

 

নারী ও শিশু এবং সমাজকল্যাণ

নবগঠিত আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলায়, ৬০-হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্রী ‘কন্যাশ্রী’র আওতায় এসেছে।

 

খাদ্য সুরক্ষা কর্মসুচী- খাদ্য সাথী প্রকল্প

এই জেলার ১০০% যোগ্য মানুষকে (প্রায় ১৫ লক্ষ ৮০ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষকে), ২/- টাকা কেজি দরে খাদ্যশস্য দেওয়া হচ্ছে- যা জেলার মোট জনসংখ্যার প্রায় ১০০%।

 

চা বাগান

রাজ্যের প্রায় ২৮০ টি চা বাগানে ১২ লক্ষেরও বেশি মানুষ বসবাস করেন। বর্তমান সরকার এই সমস্ত অঞ্চলে আবাসন, প্লানীয় জল সরবরাহ, রেশন, চিকিৎসা ও স্বাস্থ্য ব্যবস্থা প্রভৃতি সহ একাধিক ক্ষেত্রে পরিষেবা প্রদান করে চলেছে।

 

আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলা

  • এই জেলার বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়া বান্দাপানি, ঢেকলাপাড়া, মধু ইত্যাদি চা বাগানগুলির কর্মচ্যুত পরিবারগুলির পাশে দাঁড়ানোর উদ্দ্যেশ্যে বর্তমান রাজ্য সরকার একগুচ্ছ কল্যানকামী পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করেছে-
  • খাদ্য সুরক্ষা কর্মসুচীতে চা বাগানের প্রতিটি পরিবারের জন্য সরকার প্রতি মাসে ২ টাকা কেজি দরে ৩৫ কেজি খাদ্যশস্য (১৫ কেজি চাল ও ২০ কেজি আটা)প্রদান করছে।
  • ঢেকলাপাড়া বন্ধ চা বাগান ও দলমোর চা বাগানে রেশন দোকান স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীর মাধ্যমে সুফলভাবে চলছে।
  • মাদারিহাট ব্লকের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ধুমচিপাড়া, গারগান্ডা ও মুজনাই চা বাগানের পানীয় জল প্রকল্পের কাজ শেষ হয়েছে।
  • এই সমস্ত চা বাঙ্গানগুলিতে প্রায় ২৫ হাজার শিশু সহায়ক অঙ্গনওয়াড়ি কেন্দ্র নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।

 

শিল্প

জেলায় ক্ষুদ্র, ছোট ও মাঝারি উদ্যোগের ৪টি ক্লাস্টার গড়ে উঠেছে।

 

পূর্ত ও পরিবহন

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, এই জেলায় পূর্ত দপ্তর ৭৫ টিরও বেশি রাস্তাঘাট, ব্রীজ ইত্যাদি প্রকল্প রূপায়ণের কাজ হাতে নিয়েছে, যার মধ্যে ৬০ টিরও বেশি প্রকল্পের কাজ প্রায় ৩১৫ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ইতিমধ্যেই সমাপ্ত হয়েছে। এর ফলে, প্রচুর মানুষ উপকৃত হবেন। বাকি প্রকল্পের কাজ খুব শীঘ্রই সমাপ্ত হবে।
  • কালচিনিতে বাসরা ও বালা নদীর ওপর সেতু গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • আলিপুরদুয়ার-কুমারগ্রাম রাস্তায় চেকো ও নোনাই নদীর ওপর সেতু গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলার মধ্যে অবস্থিত ভূটান-বাংলাদেশ সংযোগকারী এশিয়ান হাইওয়ে- ৪৮ (Asian Highway-48) অংশের কাজ প্রায় ৬৫% হয়ে গেছে।
  • জেলার সড়ক ব্যবস্থা উন্নয়নে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হচ্ছে। জেলায় বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, প্রায় ৩৩০ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মাণ/পুর্ননির্মাণ/সম্প্রসারণ ও উন্নতিকরণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
  • ‘বৈতরনী’ প্রকল্পে, ৮ টি শ্মশান ঘাটের উন্নয়ন সহ ১টি বিদ্যুতের চুল্লি বসানোর কাজ চলছে।
  • জয়গাঁ উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ, কালচিনির জয়গাঁয় একটি আধুনিক বাস টার্মিনাস ও দ্বিতীয় ভূটান প্রবেশ দ্বার গড়ে তুলেছে।
  • আলিপুরদুয়ারে ২৮ কোটি টাকায় একটি আধুনিক বাস টার্মিনাস গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে।
  • এই জেলার প্রায় ১৩০ জন যুবক-যুবতী গাড়ি কেনার ঋণ পেয়ে আত্মনির্ভর হয়েছেন।
  • হাতে নেওয়া হয়েছে Safe Drive Save Life এবং Slow Drive Save Life কর্মসূচি। ফলে, উল্লেখযোগ্য ভাবে কমেছে দুর্ঘটনা এবং হতাহতের সংখ্যা।

 

বিদ্যুৎ ও অচিরাচরিত শক্তি

  • সমগ্র আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলায় ‘সবার ঘরে আলো’ প্রকল্পে ১০০% গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
  • দমনপুরে নতুন ৩৩/১১ কেভি বিদ্যুৎ সাব-স্টেশন তৈরি হয়েছে।
  • শামুকতলায় নতুন ৩৩/১১ কেভি বিদ্যুৎ সাব-স্টেশন তৈরির কাজ চলছে।

 

সেচ

  • আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলার প্রায় ১০০ কিমি দৈর্ঘের বাঁধ সংরক্ষণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
  • শামুকতলায় গদাধর নদীর পার সংরক্ষণ করা হয়েছে।

 

জনস্বাস্থ্য কারিগরী

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ২৯টি জলপ্রকল্পের কাজ শুরু হয়েছে, এর মধ্যে প্রায় ৭০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ১৭টির কাজ সমাপ্ত হয়েছে। এর ফলে, জেলার প্রচুর মানুষ উপকৃত হচ্ছেন।বাকী জলপ্রকল্পগুলির কাজ শীঘ্রই সমাপ্ত হবে।
  • আলিপুরদুয়ার ২নং ব্লকের অন্তর্গত লোকনাথপুর ও যশোডাঙ্গা পানীয় জল সরবরাহের কাজ শেষ হয়েছে।
  • কালচিনি ব্লকের অন্তর্গত জয়ন্তী নদীর জলকে কাজে লাগিয়ে জয়ন্তী বনবস্তির দুই দশকের পানীয় জল সমস্যা নিরসণ করা গেছে।
  • ফালাকাটা ব্লকের অন্তর্গত ছোটোশালকুমার মৌজায় পানীয় জল সরবরাহের প্রকল্পের জলাধার নির্মাণের কাজ শেষ হয়েছে।
  • মাদারিহাট ব্লকের অন্তর্গত টোটোপাড়াতে অনগ্রসর কল্যাণ দপ্তরের অর্থানুকুল্যে প্রায় ৬০০ ফুট গভীর নলকুপ বসানোর কাজ শেষ হয়েছে।
  • মাদারিহাট ব্লকের অন্তর্গত মাকড়াপাড়া জলসরবরাহ প্রকল্পে ৬৩০ ফুট গভীর নলকুপ বসানোর কাজ শেষ হয়েছে।

 

বন ও পর্যটন

  • ‘সবুজশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে, ৯ হাজাররেও বেশি সদ্যোজাত শিশুকে মুল্যবান গাছের চারা দেওয়া হয়েছে। ১৮ বছর উত্তীর্ণ হলে, গাছ বিক্রির টাকায় শিশুটির পড়াশুনা, বিয়ে ইত্যাদির খরচ মেটানো যাবে।
  • Dooars Mega Tourism Project-এর অন্তর্গত প্রায় ৫ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে জলদাপাড়া ট্যুরিস্ট লজ, রত্নেশ্বর ঝীল, বাকলা, শিকিয়াঝোরা এবং হাসিমারা এই প্রকল্পগুলির প্রথম পর্যায়ের কাজ শেষ হয়েছে।

 

শ্রম

  • এই জেলায় ‘সামাজিক সুরক্ষা যোজনা’য়, প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৩০ হাজার জন অসংঘটিত ক্ষেত্রের শ্রমিকরা নথিভুক্ত হয়েছেন। এখনো পর্যন্ত, প্রায় ৪০ হাজার উপভোক্তা ১৪ কোটি টাকারও বেশি সহায়তা পেয়েছেন।
  • ‘যুবশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে, এই জেলায় প্রায় ১৬০০ যুবক-যুবতী উৎসাহ ভাতা পাচ্ছেন।

 

স্বনির্ভর দল ও স্বনিযুক্তি কর্মসূচী

  • ‘আনন্দধারা’ প্রকল্পে, প্রায় ১৪ হাজার স্বনির্ভর দল গঠিত হয়েছে।
  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ‘স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ স্বনির্ভর কর্মসূচী’ প্রকল্পে, প্রায় ২৮০০ উদ্যোগকে অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে এবং প্রায় ২৪ কোটি টাকা অনুদান প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • আলিপুরদুয়ার-১, কালচিনি, মাদারিহাট ও ফালাকাটা ব্লকে ৪টি ‘কর্মতীর্থ’ গড়ে উঠেছে।

 

তথ্য ও সংস্কৃতি

এই জেলায় ৩ হাজারেরও বেশি লোকশিল্পী, ‘লোকপ্রসার প্রকল্পে’ বহাল ভাতা এবং পেনশন পাচ্ছেন।

 

আবাসন

  • আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলায় আর্থিক ভাবে দুর্বল মানুষদের জন্যে গীতাঞ্জলী ও অন্যান্য প্রকল্পে প্রায় ৫ হাজার মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • ভ্রমনার্থীদের সুবিধা এবং স্থানীয় মানুষদের কর্মসংস্থানের জন্য মাদারহাটে ১টি ‘পথসাথী’ মোটেল গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

ক্রীড়া ও যুব কল্যাণ

  • ক্রীড়ার মান উন্নয়নে জেলায় ১৩০টিরও বেশি ক্লাবকে ৩ কোটি টাকারও বেশি অর্থ সাহাজ্য করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় প্রায় ১২ টি মাল্টিজিম ও ৩টি মিনি ইন্ডোর স্টেডিয়াম, প্রায় ১ কোটি  টাকায় গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • আলিপুরদুয়ার সহ উত্তরবঙ্গের ৮টি জেলা জুড়ে নিয়মিত পালিত হচ্ছে উত্তরবঙ্গ উৎসব।

 

উত্তরবঙ্গ উন্নয়ন

জেলায় উত্তরবঙ্গ উন্নয়ন দপ্তর বিভিন্ন উন্নউওনমূলক কাজের রূপায়ণ করেছে।

এর মধ্যে অন্যতম হোল-

– অন্দু বস্তি মোড় থেকে দক্ষিণ মেন্দাবাড়ি মোড় রাস্তা
