Trinamool Youth Congress President and MP Abhishek Banerjee attended a blood donation camp in Barrackpore today. He addressed the party supporters at a public meeting after that.

He said, “We have become ministers, MPs and MLAs with the help of the people”.

Addressing the party workers, he said, “Those who have created Trinamool Congress inspired by the ideals of Mamata Banerjee, and hold high the party’s flag, are the real assets of the party. Those who struggle for the party all through the year, help in taking the fruits of development to the masses, are the real assets of the party”.

He went on, “Seeing the number of people attending the meeting today, despite the hot weather, it is safe to assume that in the coming days the CPI(M), the Congress and the BJP would not be found anywhere in the state”.

Holding aloft the high ideals of the party, he said, “All political parties have good and bad people. We in the Trinamool always welcome honest, good and fearless people”.

“Like Trinamool is synonymous with Singur and Nandigram, it is also identified with the events of July 21, 1993. Those who are not aware of the ‘Ekush’ (July 21) Movement have no right to associate themselves with Trinamool. The date July 21 is not just a date or even the measure of a great movement, it is a part of our pride, our collective emotion and even our vanity”,  he said, putting forth the essence of Trinamool Congress as a party.

He further said, “Into this land of peace, the Jyoti Basu government had flown in a river of blood. Thirteen bright youth had drowned in that river. We can never forget those people. This movement is an integral part of the birth pangs of our party. We are not afraid to face bullets. It is no use trying to scare us or cower us down. The Trinamool Congress is ever ready for any fight or movement”.

” ‘Ekush’ signifies a movement, a battle cry, a cleansing flood, a mass of support. ‘Ekush’ signifies a hope, a new direction and a will to fight”, Abhishek Banerjee thus explained the core significance of the July 21 Movement.

Harking back to the dark days of the past, he said, “The way the CPI(M), while in power, had insulted, ravaged and tortured Bengal, the same way the government at the Centre is oppressing the country and pushing it towards darkness. The way of the devil remains – just that earlier it was the CPI(M), now it is the BJP”.

Speaking on the way the Trinamool Congress has been leading protests all over the country, including major ones in the national capital, on demonetisation, GST and other issues, the Trinamool Youth Congress President and MP said, “Except Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress, no one is protesting. The reason is that Trinamool has to answer to the people. Till the last drop of our blood, we will raise questions on the behalf of the people and fight for them in Delhi”.

“We have staged and led protests multiple times in Delhi; no other party has done that. They try to scare us in the name of the CBI and the ED ever so often. But it is of no use – we have increased our strength in the Assembly from 184 to 221”.

Referring to the politics of vendetta that BJP has been conducting on Trinamool, he said, “Those who are thinking they can scare us to submission, they should know that not everyone can become a Mamata Banerjee. She has become what she is today through a lot of sacrifice and hardship. The more they incite and instigate her, the more powerful she becomes. Trinamool Congress is made of pure steel”.

Abhishek Banerjee went on to hold forth on the fact that some people are playing the politics of convenience by changing colours: “Some of those who used to roam around in red kurtas are the same people have donned saffron ones, with lotuses in their hands. The doors of our party are closed for them. Earlier the CPI(M) used to come in disguise, with faces covered, and frighten people through torture, extortion and humiliation”.

“There is no place for the cloaked and the lotus-holders in Bengal”, he said.

Lauding the chief ministership of Mamata Banerjee, he said, “The Chief Minister has conducted more than 150 administrative review meetings. I do not want to embarrass you by reminding you about part-time chief ministers like Jyoti Basu and Buddhadeb Bhattacharya. I have never seen a chief minister go from district to district with hawai chappals on feet. Our chief minister is our pride”.

 

 

বাংলায় ছদ্মবেশী ও পদ্মবেশীদের কোন জায়গা নেই: অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

আজ ব্যারাকপুরে একটি জনসভায় বক্তব্য রাখেন তৃণমূল যুব কংগ্রেসের সভাপতি এবং সাংসদ অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি বলেন, “মানুষের সহায়তায় আমরা মন্ত্রী, সাংসদ, বিধায়ক হয়েছি। যেসব কর্মীরা কাঁধে ঝাণ্ডা নিয়ে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের আদর্শে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস দলটাকে তৈরী করেছে, তারাই আমাদের আসল সম্পদ। যারা ৩৬৫ দিন লড়াই করে, উন্নয়নের পরিষেবা বাড়ি বাড়ি পৌঁছে দেয়, তারাই আমাদের দলের আসল সম্পদ।”

জনসভায় উপস্থিত অগনিত জনগণকে কৃতজ্ঞতা জানিয়ে তিনি বলেন, “আজকে তীব্র রোদ উপেক্ষা করে যেভাবে মানুষ এই সভায় উপস্থিত হয়েছেন তা প্রমাণ করছে আগামী দিনে সিপিএম বিজেপি কংগ্রেসকে দূরবীন তো দুরের কথা অণুবীক্ষণ যন্ত্র দিয়েও ওদের কোন গ্রামে-গঞ্জে, অঞ্চলে খুঁজে পাওয়া যাবে না। সব রাজনৈতিক দলে ভালো ও খারাপ লোক থাকে, সৎ ভালো নির্ভীক লোক কে স্বাগত জানানো হয় তৃণমূলে।”

তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের প্রসঙ্গে বলতে গিয়ে তিনি বলেন, “তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের পরিচয় যেমন সিঙ্গুর, নন্দীগ্রাম, তেমন ১৯৯৩ সালের ২১ শে জুলাই। যারা ২১ শের আন্দোলন জানে না, তাদের তৃণমূল করার কোন যোগ্যতা নেই। ২১ শুধু তারিখ বা শব্দ নয়, একটা আন্দোলনের মাপকাঠি বা সীমারেখা নয়, ২১ আমাদের গৌরবের, আবেগের, আমাদের অহংকার। একুশ মানে আন্দোলন, গর্জন, প্লাবন, জনসমুদ্র। একুশ মানে আশা, দিশা, লড়াই করা।”

১৯৯৩ সালের ২১শে জুলাইয়ের প্রসঙ্গে তিনি বলেন, “এই শান্তির বাংলায় তৎকালীন জ্যোতি বাবুদের সরকার কলকাতার রাজপথে রক্তের নদী বইয়ে দিয়েছিল। ১৩ জন তরতাজা যুবক প্রাণ দিয়েছিল। সেই শহীদদের আমরা কোনদিন ভুলে যেতে পারি না। এই আন্দোলনের মধ্যে দিয়ে আমাদের সংগঠন তৈরী হয়েছে। একমাত্র মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ও তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস ছাড়া কোন দল প্রতিবাদ করে না। কারণ আমরা জবাব দেব সাধারণ মানুষকে।আমরা শেষ রক্তবিন্দু পর্যন্ত মানুষের হয়ে প্রশ্ন করব ও দিল্লিতে আন্দোলন করব।”

বিরোধীদের উদ্দেশ্যে তিনি বলেন, “কার্তুজের গুলির সামনে আমরা বুক পেতে দাঁড়াতে ভয় পাইনি। আমাদের ধমকে, চমকে, ভয় দেখিয়ে কোন লাভ নেই। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সব সময় লড়াই আন্দোলনের জন্য প্রস্তুত থাকে। যারা লাল পাঞ্জাবী পরে ঘুরত তারাই এখন গেরুয়া পাঞ্জাবী পরে পদ্মফুল নিয়ে ঘুরছে। আমাদের দলের দরজা তাদের জন্য বন্ধ। আগে সিপিএম আসতো ছদ্মবেশে। এসে মুখে কাপড় বেঁধে অত্যাচার, শোষণ, লাঞ্ছনা করে সন্ত্রাস করত। আজ এখন বিজেপি আসছে পদ্মবেশে।”

তিনি এই প্রসঙ্গে আরও বলেন, “সিপিএম যেভাবে ৩৪ বছর বাংলাকে লাঞ্ছিত, ধর্ষিত, অত্যাচারিত করে রেখেছিল একই কায়দায় কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার দেশকে জগদ্দলে পরিণত করে অন্ধকারের দিকে ঠেলে দিচ্ছে। শুধুমাত্র মুখোশ বদলেছে, আগে ছিল সিপিএম এখন হয়েছে বিজেপি। একমাত্র মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ও তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস ছাড়া কোন দল প্রতিবাদ করে না। কারণ আমরা জবাব দেব সাধারণ মানুষকে।আমরা শেষ রক্তবিন্দু পর্যন্ত মানুষের হয়ে প্রশ্ন করব ও দিল্লিতে আন্দোলন করব। আমরা দিল্লির বুকে একাধিক জায়গায় আন্দোলন করেছি, অন্য কোন রাজনৈতিক দল করে দেখাতে পারেনি। আর কিছু হলেই সিবিআই আর ইডি। হেনস্থা করে লাভ নেই, ১৮৪ থেকে আজ তৃণমূল ২২১ হয়েছে।”

বিরোধীদের উদ্দেশ্যে তিনি আরও বলেন, “যারা ভাবছে ভয় দেখিয়ে তৃণমূলকে আটকে রাখা যাবে তাদের জানা উচিত কলা পাতায় একবার খাবার খেয়ে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় হওয়া যায় না। ত্যাগ, আন্দোলন পরিশ্রমের মাধ্যমে তিনি মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় হয়েছেন। তাঁকে (মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়) যত তাতাবে, পোড়াবে তত তিনি শক্তিশালী হবেন। তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস বিশুদ্ধ লোহার মত। বাংলায় ছদ্মবেশী ও পদ্মবেশীদের কোন জায়গা নেই।”

তিনি বলেন, “প্রায় ১৫০ টি প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। বুদ্ধবাবু বা জ্যোতি বাবুর মত পার্ট টাইম মুখ্যমন্ত্রীদের কথা স্মরণ করিয়ে লজ্জা দিতে চাই না। আমি কোন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে হাওয়াই চপ্পল পরে জেলা থেকে জেলা ঘুরে বেড়াতে দেখিনি। আমাদের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আমাদের অহংকার।”
