Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated the third edition of Jangalmahal Utsav from the Medinipur College Ground in Paschim Medinipur district today. She also distributed prizes for the Jangalmahal Cup. The festival will be held from January 3 to 10.

The festival will showcase the region’s rich traditional cultural forms including dance forms like Chung, Rono-pa, Pata, Jhumur, Chhou, Bhadu-Tusu, Raibeshe and many others. Bengal’s folk music will add to the attractions. Dhamsa and madol, two popular folk percussion instruments of the State, were distributed among 480 cultural groups from 24 blocks.

Around 40 stalls and 4 pavillions will showcase and promote handicrafts from the Jangalmahal region.

The Jangalmahal Cup, organised by the State Youth Welfare Department in association with West Bengal Police, the  has been a tremendous success during the last few years. It was held in the districts of Paschim Medinipur, Bankura, Purulia and Birbhum, with competitions in sports like football, kabaddi and archery. The cultural competition included Chhou and other tribal dance forms.

 

Following are some of the key points from the Chief Minister’s speech:

  • The Jangalmahal Utsav starts today; it will showcase different forms of tribal culture.
  • I am happy that 45000 young sportspersons are participating in the Jangalmahal Cup.
  • We have allocated Rs 1 lakh per police station to organise sporting events in their areas.
  • I welcome the ruling of the Hon’ble Supreme Court banning politics of religion.
  • Life is about celebration and togetherness, not about politics and slander.
  • We do not support riots and disturbing the communal harmony. The Government will take strong action against this.
  • True religion is about respecting and loving all religions and standing by one another.
  • Bengal does not support anyone who incites violence among religions communities.
  • The Bengal Government will crack down heavily on anyone who tries to spread communal violence and disrupt peace.
  • Our Government provides benefits through Kanyashree, Sikhshashree, Yubashree, Sabuj Shree, Sabuj Sathi and many other schemes.
  • All the 553 people who received prizes today will be given jobs by the Government.
  • Kalimpong, Asansol and Jhargram will become new districts by Poila Boishakh.

 

 

তৃতীয় জঙ্গলমহল উৎসবের সূচনা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের কলেজ মাঠে তৃতীয় জঙ্গলমহল উৎসবের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। জঙ্গলমহল কাপ-এর পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানও হল আজ। বিজয়ীদের হাতে জঙ্গলমহল কাপ তুলে দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। জঙ্গলমহল উৎসব চলবে ৩-১০ জানুয়ারি পর্যন্ত।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের যুব কল্যাণ দপ্তর আয়োজিত এই অনুষ্ঠান থেকে মানুষের হাতে বিভিন্ন সরকারি পরিষেবাও তুলে দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। একইসঙ্গে জঙ্গলমহল অন্তর্ভুক্ত ২৪ টি ব্লকের ৪৮০ টি সাংস্কৃতিক গোষ্ঠীকে ধামসা-মাদল প্রদান করা হয়।

এই উৎসবে জঙ্গলমহলের পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর, বাঁকুড়া, পুরুলিয়ার আদিবাসী সাংস্কৃতিক গোষ্ঠীর নৃত্য গীত পরিবেশিত হবে – চাং নৃত্য, রণপা নৃত্য, পাতা নাচ, ঝুমুর গান, ছাপল নৃত্য, ভাদু-টুসু, ঘোড়া নাচ, নাটুয়া নাচ, ছৌ নাচ, সারপা নৃত্য, করম নৃত্য, বাহা নৃত্য, ভুয়াং নৃত্য, লোকসঙ্গীত, পাইক-ঢালি-রায়বেঁশে নৃত্য এবং অন্যান্য লোকসঙ্গীত ও নৃত্য, অন্যান্য লোকসঙ্গীত এবং ত্রিপুরা, মণিপুর ও ওড়িশার প্রাদেশিক লোকনৃত্য।

মেলা প্রাঙ্গনে রয়েছে বিভিন্ন দপ্তরের ৪০ টি স্টল, সঙ্গে পশ্চিমাঞ্চল উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ, পুরুলিয়া বাঁকুড়া ও পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার ৪ টি সুদৃশ্য প্যাভিলিয়ন ও জঙ্গলমহলের ৬০ টি হস্তশিল্প বিক্রয় কেন্দ্র।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee slammed the Centre today yet again saying that the situation on ground due to demonetisation is grim. She later took to Twitter to post her views.

The Chief Minister said, as an effect of demonetisation, labourers were not getting wages under the 100 Days’ Work Scheme. Earlier, 30,000 people used to work under the scheme in Bankura, which has now come down to 10,000.

She said that the money received for paying those who work under the scheme has also come down drastically – less by Rs 135 crore.

The CM said, “The situation on ground is very grim. With weekly limit of Rs 24000, banks were supposed to give Rs 96000 per month. For 100 Days’ Work, workers get Rs 5000+ in a month. Banks are unable to give this amount also. What will the people eat?”

The rural economy is in tatters. “The rural economy is dependent on cooperative banks. Even they are not receiving money” the CM said.

Mamata Banerjee added, “There are no workers to harvest paddy. Crores of people have lost their jobs. The rural people are suffering immensely. This is an area where there is bank. Imagine the situation where there is no bank”.

She went on: “There is cash crunch as well as bank crunch”.

She admonished the Central Government and asked it to “first create the infrastructure for cashless economy; only bhashan won’t do. Every day a decision is changed it means this is an unstable government.”

 

টাকা ও ব্যাঙ্ক দুইই অমিলঃ নোট বাতিল ইস্যুতে বাঁকুড়ায় বললেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

নোটবাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে আবারও সুর চড়ালেন বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি বলেন, নোটবাতিলের ফলে পরিস্থিতি খুবই ভয়ঙ্কর হয়ে উঠেছে।

তিনি বলেন, নোটবাতিলের ফলে ১০০ দিনের কাজে নিযুক্ত শ্রমিকরা তাদের মজুরি পাচ্ছে না। যেখানে আগে বাঁকুড়ায় ১০০ দিনের কাজে ৩০,০০০ শ্রমিক কাজ করত, সেই সংখ্যা আজ মাত্র ১০,০০০ – এ এসে নেমেছে।

১০০ দিনের কাজে বাঁকুড়া জেলা বরাদ্দের ১৩৫ কোটি টাকা কম পেয়েছে বলে অভিযোগ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “বাস্তবের চিত্রটি খুবই ভয়ঙ্কর। সপ্তাহে সর্বোচ্চ ২৪,০০০ টাকা তুলতে পারার কথা, সেই হিসেবে ব্যাঙ্ক মাসে ৯৬,০০০ টাকা দিতে পারে। ১০০ দিনের কাজে নিযুক্তরা মাসে ৫,০০০ টাকার মত পেয়ে থাকেন। ব্যাঙ্ক এই টাকাও দিতে পাছে না। মানুষ খাবে কি করে? গ্রামীণ অর্থনীতি খুব সংকটে।”

তিনি বলেন, “গ্রামের অর্থনীতি প্রধানত নির্ভর করে সমবায় ব্যাঙ্কগুলির ওপর। সমবায় ব্যাঙ্কগুলি পর্যন্ত টাকা পাচ্ছে না।”

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, “ধান তোলার জন্য কোনও মজুর পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না। কোটি কোটি মানুষ তাদের জীবিকা হারিয়েছেন। গ্রামের মানুষরা ভয়ঙ্কর কষ্টে আছে। এখানে ব্যাঙ্ক আছে, তাতেই পরিস্থিতি এইরকম, তাহলে ভাবুন যেখানে ব্যাঙ্ক নেই, সেখানে কি অবস্থা।”

তিনি বলেন, “টাকা ও ব্যাংক দুইই অমিল।”

তিনি কেন্দ্রকে সাবধান করে বলেন, “প্রথমে ক্যাশলেস অর্থনীতির জন্য পরিকাঠামো তৈরি করুন, শুধু ভাষণে কাজ হবে না। প্রতিদিন সরকার নিজেদের একটি করে সিদ্ধান্ত বদলাচ্ছেন; এই সরকারের স্থিতিশিল নয়।”

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched the Sabujshree scheme in Bankura district today during a public meeting at Fulkusuma in Raipur block. As part of the scheme, she said, “15 lakh families will get a sapling for every baby born every year”.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a host of developmental projects for Bankura including power stations, Government buildings, tourism centres, hostels, new roads, bridges and veterinary centres.

From the same stage, she inaugurated SNCUs for Government hospitals in Murshidabad, Malda, Cooch Behar and South 24 Parganas districts, as well as water ATMs at several Government hospitals in Kolkata.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for several developmental projects in the district including solar power stations, bridges, renovations of canals, mini indoor games complexes and road projects, among many others.

Besides inaugurating the Sabujshree scheme for the district, the Bengal Chief Minister distributed benefits under Sabuj Sathi and Kanyashree schemes, and solar lanterns, sports equipments and agricultural pattas.

During the speech, the Chief Minister also harped on communal harmony, and on distributing the fruits of development irrespective of religious denomination. She said, “Over 2,000 burial grounds of Muslims have been fenced. We will renovate the cremation ghats of Hindus also”. Continuing in the same vein, she said, “We have started Samabyathi scheme to offer financial aid to underprivileged people to enable them to perform the last rites of their near and dear ones”.

Among other things, “a water supply project worth Rs 1,100 crore has been taken up”, said the Chief Minister, which is an important scheme for the perennially dry district that Bankura is. Another project initiated to provide relief from the dry condition, she said, is a “project under the Jal Tirtha scheme to irrigate 32,000 hectares of farmland”.

Referring to her Government’s rainbow of developmental schemes, she said, “From Kanyashree to Yuvashree and Sikshashree, we have always made welfare of people our priority”.

Later she held the administrative review meeting for the district with State Government officials.

 

 

বাঁকুড়ায় আজ একগুচ্ছ প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ থেকে শুরু হল মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর জেলা সফর। আজ বাঁকুড়ার রাইপুরের ফুলকুসুমায় একটি জনসভা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

পাওয়ার স্টেশন, সরকারি ভবন, পর্যটন কেন্দ্র, হোস্টেল, নতুন রাস্তা, সেতু, বাঁকুড়া জন্য সহায়ক কেন্দ্র সহ আরও অনেক উন্নয়নমূলক প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

একই মঞ্চ থেকে তিনি মুর্শিদাবাদ, মালদহ, কোচবিহার ও দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগনার সরকারি হাসপাতালে এস এন সি ইউ উদ্বোধন করলেন। এছাড়া কলকাতার সরকারি হাসপাতালগুলির জন্য ওয়াটার এটিএমও উদ্বোধন করলেন।

বিভিন্ন উন্নয়নমূলক প্রকল্পের পাশাপাশি সৌর বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র, সেতু, খাল সংস্করণ, মিনি অন্দর গেম কমপ্লেক্স, সড়ক প্রকল্প সহ বিভিন্ন প্রকল্পের ভিত্তিপ্রস্তরও স্থাপন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

সবুজ শ্রী প্রকল্প চালু করার পাশাপাশি মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সবুজসাথি সাইকেল, কন্যাশ্রী, সোলার লণ্ঠন, কৃষি পাট্টা এসবও বিতরণ করলেন।

পরে তিনি জেলার প্রশাসনিক কর্তাদের সঙ্গে বৈঠকও করলেন।

  • আমরা ‘সমব্যাথী’ প্রকল্প চালু করেছি। এর মাধ্যমে গরীব-দুঃস্থ মানুষরা তাদের আত্মীয়দের সৎকারের জন্য আর্থিক সহায়তা পাবে
  • নবম থেকে দ্বাদশ শ্রেণীর ছাত্রছাত্রীদের জন্য আমরা সবুজ সাথী প্রকল্প চালু করেছি

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will hold administrative review meetings in Bankura and East Midnapore districts next week. She will inaugurate a bouquet of projects during the district tour.

On December 19, she is scheduled to attend a public meeting at Fulkushna in Bankura where she will be inaugurating various projects and will also launch Sabuj Shree scheme for the district.

She will also visit Mukutmanipur where she would be holding the administrative review meeting for Bankura district.

The Chief Minister is also scheduled to take a stock of the development projects in East Midnapore district. She is slated to visit Digha and Mandarmani to take stock of the progress of various tourism projects.

The administrative meeting for East Midnapore district is scheduled take place in Digha. She will return to Kolkata thereafter.

MLAs and senior officials from each district will be present in these administrative review meetings.

 

১৯ ডিসেম্বর আবার জেলা সফর শুরু করবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় আগামী সপ্তাহে পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর ও বাঁকুড়া জেলায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করবেন। তাঁর এই জেলা সফরে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী একগুচ্ছ প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করবেন।

১৯শে ডিসেম্বর তিনি বাঁকুড়া জেলার ফুলকুশনায় একটি জনসভায় যোগ দেবেন। ওখানে তিনি নানা প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করবেন; একইসঙ্গে তিনি শুভ সূচনা করবেন বাঁকুড়া জেলার জন্য সবুজশ্রী প্রকল্প। বাঁকুড়া জেলার মুকুটমনিপুরে প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকও করবেন তিনি।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এরপর পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর যাবেন ওই জেলায় নানা প্রকল্পের কাজের অগ্রগতির খতিয়ান নিতে। তিনি দিঘা ও মন্দারমনিতেও যাবেন বিভিন্ন পর্যটন প্রকল্পের অগ্রগতি দেখতে। দিঘাতেই পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরের প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করার কথা মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর; এরপর তিনি কলকাতা ফিরে আসবেন।

এই প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকগুলিতে জেলার বিধায়ক ও আধিকারিকরা উপস্থিত থাকবেন।

The Bengal Youth Affairs Department is planning to organise a ‘Mountaineers’ Meet’ to discuss the pros and cons of mountaineering and adventure sports in Bengal, after releasing the year-long calendar containing details on training programmes and expeditions.

A plan has also been mooted to encourage more school and college-goers to take part in adventure sports. The participants will include well-known mountaineers who regularly take up expeditions, members from mountaineering clubs from across the state, former mountaineers, school and college-goers.

Eminent climbers and people with experience in the field of adventure sports from other parts of the country would also be present at the meet. The Youth Affairs department is yet to finalise the date, but it is likely to take place at the end of December or the first week of January 2017.

The State Government had taken many steps to promote mountaineering and adventure sports in the state, as it helps in building ‘sportsmanship and a sense of fellow feeling’ among students and the youth. The move resulted in an increase in the number of youth taking part in different expeditions and adventure sports in the State.

The Youth Affairs department will provide financial assistance of Rs 25,000 to mountaineering clubs, if they successfully impart training for adventure sports to at least 20 boys and girls between November and February.
The adventure sports include altitude trekking, river crossing and rafting, mountaineering, rock-climbing jungle safari and hang-gliding. The training takes place mainly in Joychandi, Mathaguru and Gajaguru areas in Purulia and Susunia hills in Bankura.

The release of the year-long schedule of expeditions and training programmes will be another highlight of the meet. It will contain detailed schedule of programmes and events organised for school and college-goers; dates suitable for expedition to different peaks including Mount Everest and coastal trekking; and state and national level competitions for the year 2017.

This is the first time that an initiative to prepare a year-long calendar for mountaineering and adventure sports have been taken up. The Radhanath Sikdar Tenzing Norgay Award to a mountaineer – for those who successfully climb Mount Everest – and Chhanda Gayen Award will be given to an outstanding woman climber on November 23 at Moulali Yuba Kendra. The state government had the introduced Radhanath Sikdar Tenzing Norgay Award in 2013 to motivate young mountaineers.

 

পর্বতারোহীদের নিয়ে অ্যাডভেঞ্চার স্পোর্টসের আয়োজন করছে রাজ্য

রাজ্য যুব কল্যাণ দপ্তর সারা বছরের প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মসূচি ও অভিযানের ক্যালেন্ডার প্রকাশ করার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে পর্বতারোহীদের নিয়ে একটি সমাবেশ করার পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করছে, যেখানে পর্বতারোহণের বিভিন্ন বিষয় আলোচনা করা হবে।

এ ছাড়াও বিভিন্ন “অ্যাডভেঞ্চার স্পোর্টস” সম্বন্ধে আলোচনা করা হবে। স্কুল ও কলেজ পড়ুয়াদেরও এই ধরনের খেলায় অংশগ্রহণ করতে উত্সাহিত করার পরিকল্পনা  চলছে। অংশগ্রহণকারীদের মধ্যে থাকবে স্বনামধন্য পর্বতারোহীরা, বিভিন্ন মাউন্টেনিয়ারিং ক্লাবের সদস্য সহ স্কুল কলেজ পড়ুয়ারা। ভিন রাজ্যের পর্বতারোহী ও অ্যাডভেঞ্চার স্পোর্টসে পারদর্শীরাও থাকবেন।

এখনও তারিখ চূড়ান্ত না হলেও মোটামুটি ভাবে ডিসেম্বর মাসের শেষ বা জানুয়ারির গোড়াতেই এটি অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়ার কথা।

ইতিমধ্যেই রাজ্য সরকার পর্বতারোহন ও অ্যাডভেঞ্চার স্পোর্টসকে উন্নত করতে অনেক পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে কারণ এই ধরনের খেলায় মানুষের মধ্যে আত্মবিশ্বাস, লড়বার মানসিকতা তৈরী হওয়ার পাশাপাশি তাকে সমব্যথীও করে তোলে। ফলস্বরূপ, যুবকরা খুব বেশি পরিমান অংশগ্রহণ করছে এই ধরনের খেলাগুলিতে।

যদি নভেম্বর থেকে ফেব্রুয়ারির মধ্যে কোন মাউন্টেনিয়ারিং ক্লাব অন্তত ২০ জন ছেলে মেয়েকে অ্যাডভেঞ্চার স্পোর্টসের জন্য প্রশিক্ষণ দিতে পারে তাহলে সেই ক্লাবকে ২৫০০০ টাকার আর্থিক অনুদানও দেবে রাজ্য যুব কল্যাণ দপ্তর।

পর্বতারোহন মূলত হিমালয় ও তার পার্শবর্তী অঞ্চলে করা হলেও বাকি অ্যাডভেঞ্চার স্পোর্টসগুলি মূলত হয়ে থাকে পুরুলিয়া ও বাঁকুড়া জেলায়।

এই প্রথম এই ধরনের খেলাধুলোর জন্য বার্ষিক ক্যালেন্ডার তৈরী করা হবে যাতে সারা বছর চলতে থাকা অভিযান গুলো একদম তারিখ সহ দেওয়া থাকবে।

রাজ্য সরকার তরুণ পর্বতারোহীদের উত্সাহিত করতে ২০১৩ সালে প্রথম নিয়ে আসেন ‘রাধানাথ সিকদার পুরস্কার’ ও ‘তেনজিং নোরগে পুরস্কার’, যা দেওয়া হয় এভারেস্ট বিজয়ীদের।

‘ছন্দা গায়েন পুরস্কার’  দেওয়া হয় কোনো অসাধারণ মহিলা পর্বতারোহীকে। ২৩ নভেম্বর মৌলালি যুব কেন্দ্রে এই পুরস্কার গুলি  বিতরণ করা হবে।

The West Bengal State Council of Science and Technology is seeking GI recognition for various handicrafts which are unique in character and have the potential to be marketed nationally and internationally.

Officials of the state patent office, in co-ordination with the department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) have recently applied for GI tags for seven handicraft products like ‘Patachitra’ paintings, ‘Dokra’, wooden mask, ‘Chhau’ mask, ‘Madur’ etc.

Diverse handicraft products

In West Midnapore district, it is estimated that there are about 4,500 weavers who are involved in making of ‘Madhukathi’ mats made from grass weed. In recent years, they have diversified into making curtains, hats, purse etc.

Similarly in Cooch Behar, the craftsmen make ‘Sitalpati’ mat, which is famous for its glossiness, smoothness and fineness of texture. The expensive cane product is specially suited for hot and humid climates as it is very cool.

In Purulia, the ‘Chhau’ mask is famous and is used for ‘Chhau’ dance and also for decoration purpose as wall hangings. In Bankura, artisans have retained the thousands of years old wax casting technique with ‘Dokra’ products like figures of gods and goddesses, birds, animals besides jewellery.

 

হস্তশিল্পের ওপর GI ট্যাগের স্বীকৃতি চায় বাংলা

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি পরিষদ এবার তাদের হস্তশিল্পের বিভিন্ন পণ্যদ্রব্য ও জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক স্তরে বাজারজাত করার জন্য GI ট্যাগের স্বীকৃতি চেয়েছে।

সম্প্রতি রাজ্যের পেটেন্ট কার্যালয়ের কর্মকর্তারা, মাইক্রো, ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্প (MSME) বিভাগের সহযোগিতায় সাতটি হস্তশিল্পজাত দ্রব্য যেমন – পটচিত্র, পেইন্টিং, ডোকরা, কাঠের মুখোশ, ছৌ মুখোশ ও মাদুর ইত্যাদিকে GI ট্যাগের স্বীকৃতি দেওয়ার জন্য আবেদন জানিয়েছে।

বিভিন্ন হস্তশিল্প:

অনুমান করা হয় পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার প্রায় ৪,৫০০ জন তাঁতি ঘাস আগাছা থেকে মাদুরকাঠি তৈরির সঙ্গে যুক্ত। সাম্প্রতিক বছরগুলোতে, তারা পর্দা, টুপি, পার্স ইত্যাদি বিচিত্র পণ্যদ্রব্য তৈরি করছে।

একইভাবে কুচবিহারে তৈরি হয় শীতল পাটি মাদুর যা এর উজ্ঞ্বলতা, মসৃণতার জন্য বিখ্যাত। ব্যয়বহুল এই জিনিসটি গরম ও আর্দ্র আবহাওয়ায় জন্য উপযুক্ত, এটি খুব ঠাণ্ডা।

পুরুলিয়ার ছৌ নাচ ও ছৌ মুখোশ বিখ্যাত এবং দেওয়ালের চিত্রের জন্য অনেক প্রসাধনী ব্যবহার করা হয়।

বাঁকুড়ায়, ডোকরার তৈরি পণ্য দ্রব্য যেমন পাখি, পশু, গয়নার পাশাপাশি হাজার বছরের পুরনো শিল্পকে ডোকরার মাধ্যমে আজ বাঁচিয়ে রেখেছেন শিল্পীরা।

The West Bengal Tourism Department is taking initiatives to set up ropeways in Mukutmanipur in Bankura and Ayodhya Hills in Purulia.

State Tourism Minister Gautam Deb said that already initial steps have been taken for the project. Purulia is being projected as a prime tourist destination; a tourism information centre is also being set up there.

A day-care centre is also being set up in Ayodhya Hills to facilitate the tourists, along with watchtowers and cottages, the Minister said. A branch of the State Tourism Development will also be opened at the district administrative building, he said.

 

পুরুলিয়া-বাকুঁড়ায় রোপওয়ে চালু করছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পর্যটন বিভাগ

বাঁকুড়ার মুকুটমণিপুর জলাধার এবং পুরুলিয়ার অযোধ্যা পাহাড়ে রোপওয়ে চালু করছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পর্যটন দপ্তর।

রাজ্যের পর্যটন মন্ত্রী গৌতম দেব জানান, ইতিমধ্যেই প্রকল্পের প্রাথমিক কাজ শুরু হয়ে গেছে। পুরুলিয়ায় একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পর্যটন কেন্দ্র গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে। পুরুলিয়ার সৌন্দর্য আরও ভাল ভাবে পর্যটকদের সামনে তুলে ধরার জন্য আমরা অযোধ্যায় পরিকাঠামোর উন্নয়নে জোর দিচ্ছি।

অযোধ্যা পাহাড়ের নীচে পুরুলিয়া পাম্প স্টোরেজ প্রকল্পের লোয়ার ড্যাম থেকে পাহাড়ের উপর আপার ড্যাম অবধি প্রায় আট কিলোমিটার দীর্ঘ হবে রোপওয়েটি, এর জন্য বরাদ্দ খরচের পরিমাণ ১০ কোটি টাকা।

অযোধ্যা পাহাড়ে ৪ টি ওয়াচ টাওয়ার তৈরি করা হবে। পুরুলিয়া জেলাশাসকের দপ্তরে খোলা হবে ট্যুরিজম ইনফরমেশন সেন্টার। এছাড়া, অযোধ্যা পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে পর্যটকদের জন্য চালু হবে ডে-কেয়ার সেন্টার।

Series of schemes taken up by the West Bengal Panchayat and Rural Development department in the past five years to make rural populace economically self reliant have created wonders and have changed the quality of life of thousands of people throughout the state.

People coming from economically challenged background who never dreamt of becoming economically independent are earning money by doing fish cultivation or by manufacturing bricks from fly ash. Even the residents of leper colony in Bankura who got cured but used to earn livelihood by begging because of social stigma are on the way to achieve self reliance through mango and vegetable cultivation in Bankura.

The good work of the department has been accepted by the ministry of Rural Development and in recognition the Centre has given an award early this year. It may be mentioned Nadia has become country’s first Open Defecation Free (ODF) district.

The district is going ahead of other districts in generating quality horticulture produce like gerbera flowers, capsicum under shed-net house and poly house by using NREGA fund. Two gram panchayats, Dharmada and Bilwagram Gram under Nakashipara block have become specialists in this field.

Large numbers of poly house, shed-net houses have been constructed. Since 2015-16 financial year, construction of poly houses in 7 organic villages has been made possible by rightly using the schemes.

 

গ্রামের মানুষের জন্য পঞ্চায়েত দপ্তরের বেশ কিছু নয়া উদ্যোগ

গত পাঁচ বছরের মধ্যে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন দপ্তর দ্বারা গৃহীত প্রকল্প গুলি গ্রামীণ জনসাধারণকে অর্থনৈতিকভাবে স্বনির্ভর করেছে এবং এর ফলে রাজ্য জুড়ে হাজার হাজার মানুষ জীবনযাত্রার মান বদলে গেছে।

আর্থিকভাবে পিছিয়ে পরা মানুষ যারা কখনো অর্থনৈতিকভাবে স্বাধীন হওয়ার স্বপ্ন দেখত না তারা এখন মাছ চাষ করছেন, ইট উত্পাদন করে টাকা উপার্জন করছেন।

দপ্তরের ভাল কাজ কেন্দ্রীয় গ্রামোন্নয়ন মন্ত্রক দ্বারা গৃহীত হয়েছে এবং স্বীকৃতিস্বরূপ  এই বছরের গোড়ার দিকে এই বিভাগ একটি পুরস্কারও পেয়েছে। এটা উল্লেখযোগ্য,  যে নদীয়া দেশের প্রথম ODF জেলা হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছে।

এনআরইজিএ তহবিল ব্যবহার করে নদিয়া জেলায় শেড-নেট হাউস এবং পলি হাউসে উন্নত মানের গ্যারবেরা ফুল ও ক্যাপসিকামের উৎপাদনের ওপর জোর দেওয়া হচ্ছে।  নাকাশিপাড়া  ব্লকের দুটি গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত ধর্মদা এবং বিল্বগ্রাম এই কাজের জন্য উল্লেখযোগ্য।

অনেকগুলি পলি হাউস নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে। ২০১৫-১৬ আর্থিক বছরে ৭টি  অরগ্যানিক ভিলেজে অনেকগুলি পলি হাউস নির্মাণ সম্ভব হয়েছে।

The forest department is planning to grow and conserve several species of medicinal plants in the three districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia.

These plants would be grown on 300 hectares of land and 200 forest protection committees (FPC) will work on the project.

If ordinary residents show an interest in growing these plants, the department will help them to do so and then sell them.

The department has chosen two places, Susunia Hills in Bankura and Kankrajhore in West Midnapore’s Belpahari for the project, under the Medicinal Plant Conservation Area (MPCA), this year.

These areas have been chosen because hilly regions are rich in bio-diversity and earlier several trees of medicinal value grew here.

According to the forest department, plants and trees such as amlaki, hartaki, kalmegh, ghritakumari, ritha, sarpagandha, pial have medicinal values and are economical. So people can make a good profit by planting such trees. Many medicines and even cosmetics are made using the extracts of these trees.

জঙ্গলমহলে ঔষধি গাছ লাগানোর উদ্যোগ বন দপ্তরের

বন বিভাগ পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর, বাঁকুড়া ও পুরুলিয়া তিনটি জেলায় ভেষজ উদ্ভিদের বিভিন্ন প্রজাতি সংরক্ষণ করার পরিকল্পনা করছে।

৩০০ হেক্টর জমির ওপর এই গাছপালাগুলি হবে এবং 200 বন সুরক্ষা কমিটি এই প্রকল্পের কাজ করবে।

যদি সাধারণ বাসিন্দাদের এই গাছপালা চাষে আগ্রহী হয় তাহলে বন দপ্তর তাদের সাহায্য করবে এবং তারপর তাদের বিক্রি করবে।

এই বছর ভেষজ গাছ সংরক্ষণ এলাকার অধীনে এই প্রকল্পের জন্য বন দপ্তর দুটি জায়গা বেছে নিয়েছেন। একটি হল বাঁকুড়ার শুশুনিয়া পাহাড় ও কাঁকড়াঝোর এবং অপরটি পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের বেলপাহাড়ি।

এইসব এলাকা বাছাই করা হয়েছে কারণ পাহাড়ি এলাকা জীববৈচিত্র্য সমৃদ্ধ এবং আগেও এখানে অনেক ওষধি গাছ হয়েছে।

বন বিভাগের মতে, আমলকী, হরিতকী, কালমেঘ, ঘৃতকুমারী, রিঠা, সর্পগন্ধা, পিয়াল এই সব গাছ লাগানো বেশ লাভজনক এবং এগুলির ঔষধি মান আছে। অতএব এসব বৃক্ষরোপণের দ্বারা মানুষ লাভবান হবেন। অনেক ওষুধ এবং এমনকি প্রসাধন দ্রব্য এই সব গাছের নির্যাস ব্যবহার করে তৈরি করা হয়।

Over the last four-and-a-half years, the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Government has showered the once-backward district of Bankura with a lot of development.

The Paschimanchal Unnayan Affairs Department, created especially for the districts comprising Jangalmahal, has ensured that developmental works covering all aspects of governance are carried out there.

Here are some of the developments of Bankura district brought about by the Trinamool Congress Government:

Health

  • A new health district has been created out of Bishnupur
  • Four multi super-speciality hospitals built in Barjora, Onda, Chatna and Bishnupur
  • Four fair-price medicine shops (FPMS) at Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital, Bishnupur and Khatra Sub-divisional Hospitals, and Taldangra Rural Hospital; another at Sonamukhi Rural Hospital to be set up soon.
  • As a result of the setting up of these shops, 8 lakh people in the district have been benefitted to the tune of Rs 10.73 crore.
  • One 24-bedded critical care unit (CCU) at Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital
  • Fair-price diagnostic centres (FPDC) at Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital and Bishnupur Sub-divisional Hospital

 

Education

  • Two new universities, including Bankura University and in Chatna, a campus of Bidhan Chandra Agricultural University
  • Five industrial training institutes (ITIs) in Simlapal, Khatra, Sonamukhi, Indopur and Ranibandh; four more to come up in Barjora and in Bishnupur, Onda and Indus blocks
  • Eight model schools in Mejia, Chatna, Onda, Patrasayar, Shaltora, Indopur, Heerbandh and Ranibandh
  • Twenty-five primary schools upgraded to higher secondary schools and 77 Madhyamik schools upgraded to Higher Secondary

 

Agriculture and Land Reforms

  • Kisan Credit Cards distributed to 6.85 lakh farmers, which is about 91% of the farmers in the district
  • Six Kisan Mandi set up in the district; two more in the process of being set up
  • Under Nijo Griha Nijo Bhumi (NGNB) Scheme, 6,000 landless people given patta

 

Panchayat and Rural Development

  • In 100 Days’ Work Scheme, Rs 934 crore spent to create 4.65 lakh man-days
  • 774 km of rural roads built

 

Minorities’ Development

  • About 1.4 lakh minority students handed out scholarships worth about Rs 22 crore

 

Backward Classes and Adivasi Development

  • Almost 91,000 students from reserved categories getting scholarships

 

Women and Child Welfare

  • Almost 1.5 lakh girl students in Bankura distirct brought under Kanyashree Scheme

 

Khadya Suraksha and Khadya Sathi

  • Almost 26 lakh people in the district getting foodgrains at Rs 2 per kg

 

Jangalmahal Development

  • A social security scheme called Samaj Sathi being run specially for kendu leaf collectors

 

Industry

  • Plasto Steel Park built in Barjora; Rs 600 crore invested for the project
  • Eighteen micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) clusters set up, as a result of which a lot of employment has been generated

 

PWD and Transport

  • 83 projects for roads, bridges, culverts, etc. completed at a cost of Rs 609 crore, as a result of which 18 lakh people have benefitted

 

Power

  • 100% villages to be electrified by March under Sabar Ghare Alo Scheme

 

Irrigation

  • Check dams to control flooding has been built all over the district – eight by the Irrigation Department, 13 by the Panchayat Department and 25 by the Forest Department

 

Public Health Engineering

  • Twenty-nine drinking water projects worth Rs 38 crore sanctioned, of which 10 have been completed

 

Tourism

  • Two eco-tourism projects have come up in Patrasayar and Susunia

 

Labour

  • About 2.34 lakh unorganised workers, and transport and construction workers provided monetary help under State-Assisted Scheme of Provident Fund for Unorganised Workers (SASPFUW), West Bengal Transport Workers’ Social Security Scheme (WBTWSSS) and Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Act (BOCWA) scheme, respectively.

 

Self-help Groups and Schemes

  • Under the Anandadhara Scheme, about 6,000 self-help groups (SHGs) set up
  • Under Swami Vivekananda Swanirbhar Karmasuchi, almost 8,000 projects sanctioned worth RS 43 crore

 

Urban Development

  • The three municipalities in the district have completed developmental projects worth Rs 225 crore

 

Information & Broadcasting

  • 3,000 folk artistes in the district getting retainer fees and pensions under the Lok Prasar Prakalpa scheme

 

Sports & Youth Affairs

  • The Jangalmahal Cup has proved to be very popular; it has opened up numerous opportunities
  • Sports academy being built in Khatra

 

Police

  • Bankura Women Police Station has come up

 

Thus we see how, over the years of Trinamool Congress rule, Bankura has progressed like never before. A lot of projects have been accomplished, and a lot more have been sanctioned.

 

প্রগতির পথে বাঁকুড়া

গত সাড়ে ৪ বছরে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পরিচালিত তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সরকারের আমলে বাঁকুড়ার জন্য একগুচ্ছ উন্নয়ন কর্মসূচি নেওয়া হয়েছে এবং বাঁকুড়ায় এখন উন্নয়নের জোয়ার এসেছে।

বিশেষত জঙ্গলমহলের অনগ্রসর আদিবাসীদের উন্নয়নের জন্য পশ্চিমাঞ্চল উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ বোর্ড গঠন করা হয়েছে।

তৃণমূল পরিচালিত সরকারের আমলে বাঁকুড়ার উন্নয়নের খতিয়ানঃ

স্বাস্থ্য

  • বিষ্ণুপুরকে একটি পৃথক স্বাস্থ্য জেলা হিসেবে গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • বড়জোড়া, অণ্ডাল, ছাতনা এবং বিষ্ণুপুরে ৪টি মাল্টি সুপার স্পেশালিটি হসপিটাল তৈরি হয়েছে।
  • ৪টি ন্যায্য মূল্যের ওষুধের দোকান বাঁকুড়া সম্মিলনী, বিষ্ণুপুর, তালড্যাংরা ও খাতড়া মহকুমা হাসপাতালে চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • ন্যায্য মূল্যের ওষুধের দোকান থেকে ওষুধ কেনার ফলে প্রায় সাড়ে ৮ লক্ষ মানুষ ১০ কোটি ৭৩ লক্ষ টাকার ছাড় পেয়েছেন।
  • বাঁকুড়া মেডিকেল কলেজ ও হাসপাতালে একটি ২৪-শয্যা বিশিষ্ট ক্রিটিক্যাল কেয়ার ইউনিট চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • বাঁকুড়া সম্মিলনী ও বিষ্ণুপুর জেলা হাসপাতালে ন্যায্য মূল্যের ডায়াগনসটিক কেন্দ্র স্থাপিত হয়েছে।

 

শিক্ষা

  • নবনির্মিত বাঁকুড়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে এবং ছাতনার বিধান চন্দ্র কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শাখায় পঠনপাঠন শুরু হয়ে গেছে।
  • সিমলাপাল, খাতরা, সোনামুখি, ইন্দপুর এবং রানিবাঁধে পাঁচটি আইটিআই নির্মাণের কাজ শেষ হয়ে গেছে।
  • ৮ টি মডেল স্কুলে পঠনপাঠন শুরু হয়ে গেছে। এগুলি হল – মেজিয়া, ছাতনা, ওঁদা, পাত্রসায়র, শালতোড়া, ইন্দপুর, হীড়বাঁধ ও রানিবাঁধে।
  • ২৫টি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়কে উচ্চ প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় স্তরে এবং ৭৭টি মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়কে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় স্তরে উন্নীত করা হয়েছে।

 

কৃষি ও ভূমি সংস্কার

  • এই জেলার প্রায় ৬ লক্ষ ৮৫ হাজার (৯১%) কৃষককে কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ড দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায় ৬টি কিষাণ মাণ্ডি তৈরি হয়েছে। আরও ২টি তৈরির কাজ চলছে।
  • নিজ গৃহ নিজ ভূমি প্রকল্পে ৬ হাজার ভূমিহীন পরিবারকে পাট্টা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন

  • ১০০ দিনের কাজে প্রায় ৯৩৪ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে ৪.৬৫ লক্ষ শ্রম দিবস সৃষ্টি করা হয়েছে
  • গ্রামীণ সড়ক যোজনায় ৭৭৪ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মিত হয়ে গেছে

 

সংখ্যালঘু উন্নয়ন

বিগত সাড়ে ৪ বছরে ১ লক্ষ ৪০ হাজার সংখ্যালঘু ছাত্র ছাত্রীকে প্রায় ২২ কোটি টাকা বৃত্তি প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

অনগ্রসর কল্যান ও আদিবাসী উন্নয়ন

প্রায় ৯১ হাজার ছাত্র-ছাত্রী শিক্ষাশ্রী প্রকল্পে সহায়তা পাচ্ছে।

নারী ও শিশু কল্যান

বাঁকুড়া জেলায় প্রায় দেড় লক্ষ ছাত্রী কন্যাশ্রীর আওতায় এসেছে।

খাদ্য সুরক্ষা ও খাদ্য সাথী

জেলায় প্রায় ২৬ লক্ষ মানুষ ২ টাকা কেজি দরে খাদ্যশস্য পাচ্ছেন

জঙ্গলমহলের উন্নয়ন

কেন্দু পাতা সংগ্রহকারীদের জন্য একটি নতুন সামাজিক সুরক্ষা প্রকল্প ‘সমাজ সাথী’ চালু করা হয়েছে।

শিল্প

  • বাঁকুড়া জেলায় বড়জোড়াতে ৬০০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে Plasto Steel Park তৈরি হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় ক্ষুদ্র, ছোট ও মাঝারি উদ্যোগের ১৮টি ক্লাস্টার গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

পূর্ত ও পরিবহন

৬০৯ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে রাস্তা, ব্রিজ ও কালভার্ট সহ ৮৩টি প্রকল্পের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে, এর মাধ্যমে প্রায় ১৮ লক্ষ মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছেন।

বিদ্যুৎ

সমগ্র বাঁকুড়া জেলায় ‘সবার ঘরে আলো’ প্রকল্পে ১০০% গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরণের কাজ মার্চ মাসের মধ্যে সম্পন্ন হয়ে যাবে।

জলতীর্থ প্রকল্পের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে জেলায় সেচ দপ্তর ৮টি , পঞ্চায়েত দপ্তর ১৩টি ও বনদপ্তর ২৫টি চেকড্যাম রূপায়ন করেছে।

বিগত সাড়ে ৪ বছরে ৩৪ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ২৯টি জলপ্রকল্পের কাজ শুরু হয়েছে এর মধ্যে ১০টি প্রকল্পের কাজ সমাপ্ত হয়ে গেছে।

পাত্রসায়র ও শুশুনিয়াতে ২টি ইকো-ট্যুরিজম প্রকল্প গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

স্ব-নির্ভর দল ও স্ব-নিযুক্তি কর্মসূচী

  • আনন্দধারা প্রকল্পে প্রায় ৬ হাজার স্ব-নির্ভর দল গঠিত হয়েছে।
  • স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ স্বনির্ভর কর্মসূচী প্রকল্পে প্রায় ৮ হাজার প্রকল্পের অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে এবং প্রায় ৪৩ কোটি টাকা অনুদান প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন

এই জেলায় ৩টি মিউনিসিপ্যালিটি বিগত সাড়ে চার বছরে প্রার ২২৫ কোটি টাকারও বেশি পরিকল্পনা খাতে ব্যয় করেছে।

তথ্য ও সংস্কৃতি

এই জেলায় প্রায় ৩ হাজার লোকশিল্পী রিটেনার ফি ও পেনশন পাচ্ছেন।

ক্রীড়া ও যুব কল্যান

  • নতুন প্রতিভার অন্বেষণে জঙ্গলমহলে ‘জঙ্গলমহল কাপ’ ক্রীড়া প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে।
  • বাঁকুড়া জেলার খাতরায় একটি স্পোর্টস অ্যাকাডেমি গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে।

 

স্বরাষ্ট্র

জেলায় নতুন থানা হিসেবে বাঁকুড়া মহিলা থানা স্থাপন করা হয়েছে।

 

তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস পরিচালিত সরকারের আমলে বাঁকুড়ায় ব্যাপক উন্নয়ন হয়েছে যা অতীতে কখনোও হয়নি। অনেক প্রকল্পের কাজ হাতে নেওয়া হয়েছে এবং বেশ কিছু কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়ে গেছে।
