Trinamool Youth Congress president and Member of Parliament Abhishek Banerjee strongly criticised the BJP Government’s anti-people policies during a speech at Rathtala Maidan in Balarampur in Purulia district.

In connection with the victory in the panchayat election, he said, whether it is at a court of law or in an election, Trinamool Congress will always win.

According to him, whether voting the BJP to win is the same as bringing a calamity oneself to one’s doorstep. In Balarampur, Trinamool had won election after election, but there has never been any violence. Yet, within a week after winning the panchayat election this time, violence spread across the place. There were two unnatural deaths. They had started playing political games with those deaths. Wherever Trinamool won, peace was established, and wherever BJP won, there has been a lack of peace.

We do not do politics with religion, he said. They mislead people by saying stipends are paid to imams using the tax-payers’ money. People should remember that tax-payers’ money is used for developmental projects – Sabooj Sathi, Gitanjali, etc. We believe in the Hindutva of Swami Vivekananda, not in the saffron Hindutva of Yogi.

He said, despite doing so much for the people of Raghunathpur, some people have turned away from us; we need to reach out to them. Support Mamata Banerjee as she is doing a lot of work for all of us. She will never let unrest spread its web in Jangalmahal.

It must also be remembered that many of those who won on BJP tickets in the panchayat election have come back to our fold, some even covertly. Everyone wants to participate in the wave of development that Mamata Banerjee is bringing along. Nobody can stop them, those who want to join her.

National President of Trinamool Youth Congress and MP Abhishek Banerjee today took on the BJP at a rally in Medinipur. He also countered the Prime Minister’s ‘syndicate’ allegations against the party and said Trinamool is people’s syndicate, and that the people will dislodge the BJP from power in 2019.

Highlights of Abhishek Banerjee’s speech:

  • We are not a rich party like BJP. We do not have enough financial resources. We could not erect shades at this rally venue, like the BJP did by selling the country for crores of money. Those who cannot even erect a pandal properly are dreaming of winning in Bengal. The soil of Medinipur is one of struggle and fighting. This soil does not tolerate lies. People of Medinipur have not learnt to bow down.
  • Those who have come to this rally, braving the downpour, have come here not to listen to political speeches, but with the resolve to oust BJP from Delhi in 2019.
  • The Prime Minister addressed a rally here in this venue on July 16. It was titled ‘Krishi Kalyan Samabesh’. But one could hardly spot a farmer that day. They brought people from UP, Bihar, Odisha, and 10 districts. We have the details.
  • BJP does not understand the pain of farmers. The highest number of farmer suicides occurs in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. If the Prime Minister really cares for them, he should organise a farmers’ rally in these States. More than 12,000 farmers have committed suicide. Seven farmers were killed, in the same way like Nandigram, in Madhya Pradesh. Nearly 80 children died in a hospital in Gorakhpur due to lack of oxygen. More than 120 people died due to demonetisation, while waiting in queues.
  • The Prime Minister did not utter a word on development. He only uttered lies after lies. There is autocracy going on in the country. Everyday names of stations are being changed, Red Fort is being given away to private entities, Taj Mahal is being insulted. Farmer suicides are increasing. Yet, the PM and BJP President are giving bhashan.
  • The Prime Minister said, Trinamool is running a syndicate. We are a syndicate of the people. Our syndicate ended the 34-year old misrule of the Left. The syndicate brought peace of Jangalmahal and Darjeeling. In the days to come, the syndicate will dislodge BJP from power.
  • We are ready to give our lives but we will not these people dupe the people of Bengal. We will not allow communal tension in the State. We believe in Hinduism of Swami Vivekananda not that of Yogi Adityanath. Our Hinduism does not talk of divisive politics, destruction or violence. We also have devotees of Ram in our party, but unlike their Ram Bhakts, we do not organized rallies with arms. Religion for Trinamool is a unifying force, not divisive force.
  • I want to ask the BJP what they have done for Hindus? They started a project to clean the Ganga, and allocated crores of rupees, but they could not even clean a pond. They only use Hinduism for politics.
  • We are not atheists ike the CPI(M). We do not indulge in politics over religion like the BJP. They allege that Mamata Banerjee indulges in Muslim appeasement. I want to tell them, Mamata Banerjee has worked for the development of both Furfura Sharif and Dakshineshwar. She has brought a tide of development to Gangasagar as well as Tarapith.
  • The Prime Minister said Durga Puja is under threat. He does not know Mamata Banerjee has started the Bisarjan Carnival at Red Road. My advice to the BJP is to first take care of the pandal and then think of Bengal. In 2018, the pandal broke. In 2019, the government will break.
  • Our leader has fixed our target from the July 21 rally stage. Her message was 42 out of 42 in 2019, BJP finish. This should be our motto. We did not concede ground to the CPI(M), neither will we concede ground to the BJP. Let us resolve to protect the unity, culture, harmony of Bengal with our lives. Let us rid Bengal of the dirt called BJP, in a democratic way.
  • Let them fight us politically. Those who think they can win in Bengal by communally polarising the people, I want to remind them that people of Bengal cannot be brought for money. This is our Bengal, our pride.
  • They say they will win 22 seats in Bengal. We have to ensure that they don’t even win in 22 booths. A secular government will be formed in India in the coming days. That government will be for the common people, the farmers. That government will work for the progress in every sphere.
  • The only clash in Bengal will be one between 10 crore people of Bengal versus the BJP, not Hindu-Muslim clash.
  • Today is the death anniversary of Mahasweta Devi. She had a deep connection to this district. My deepest respects to her.

With the blessings from Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Leader of All India Trinamool Congress Parliamentary Party in Lok Sabha, Sudip Bandyopadhyay will be embarking on a tour to European countries this summer.

The countries that Sudip Bandyopadhyay will be visiting include Belarus, Germany, and Austria. He will be accompanying the Speaker of Lok Sabha. Member of West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Nayana Bandyopadhyay will also be accompanying him.

It may be mentioned that in 2017, Sudip Bandyopadhyay had addressed the United Nations General Assembly, with 193 nations attending the session. He has spoken about how the international community needs to step up its efforts to promote an environment free from sanctions and embargoes.

In the past, Trinamool MPs Abhishek Banerjee, Derek O’Brien and Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar have visited the United Nations on various occasions.

Like every year, National President of Trinamool Youth Congress, and Diamond Harbour MP, Abhishek Banerjee on Tuesday released a booklet containing details of all the work done by him his constituency for the last four years. The book-release ceremony was held at Sarisha school grounds in South 24 Parganas.

Speaking on the occasion, Abhishek Banerjee said that the people of the country showed the yellow card to BJP in bypolls. They will show the red card in 2019. He claimed that Trinamool will win all 42 Lok Sabha seats in Bengal.

He also said, “BJP is trying to blame Trinamool for the death of its workers. Five doctors said that the death was due to suicide. But BJP is still blaming us. They want to blame Trinamool and Mamata Banerjee for everything under the sun. But in reality, they have blood on their hands. The BJP practices communalism.”

He also advised the BJP to look after their party’s condition in Uttar Pradesh first, before turning their attention to Bengal.

The Trinamool Congress and several associations today took part in a huge protest rally at the foot of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on Mayo Road. Speakers highlighted the plight of the common man in the face of all essential prices going up because of the incessant rise in petrol and diesel prices. The rally culminated with a speech by All-India Trinamool Youth Congress President Abhishek Banerjee, in which he exhorted those present to continue with the protest by boycotting all transport and walking home from the protest rally.

 

Highlights of Abhishek Banerjee’s speech:

At the very beginning, I want to announce a special decision. After the culmination of today’s meeting, we are going to walk home and boycott transport to protest the fuel price hike. Those who are willing may please join us in this protest.

The prices of petrol and diesel have been going up every day for the past 16 days. There is no abatement, there is no compensation. This is affecting the prices of almost everything, hurting the common man badly. Very soon, thanks to the Modi government at the Centre, the price of petrol will reach a century. Before that, we must try to bowl the team out, so that the woes and suffering of the people all over the country will cease.

One after the other, the Modi government has been pursuing anti-people policies. But let me tell you, the Trinamool Congress is not a party that will welt to this continuous onslaught. With every new threat, we stand steadfast and know how to counter each of them. They promised “achhe din”, they promised jobs, they promised so many things…but all this is just talk. Very unlike what the Trinamool Congress has been able to do under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee. We have delivered what we have promised.

They are trying to dictate what the people should wear, what to eat, where to go, where to not go, whom to speak with, whom to meet – is this the freedom that people should be subjected to? For every juncture of one’s life, one is required to produce Aadhaar card. Is this not curbing one’s freedom and right to privacy? These are policies that the our party is vehemently against. We stand for the welfare of the people. That is our primary concern.

Another protest against the fuel price hike will be held by the Trinamool Youth Congress on May 31 in a similar manner. We will not stop till there is relief for the common man. The Karnataka poll outcome has sounded their farewell bell. We will bid them the remaining goodbye with the vote in 2019.

All India Trinamool Youth Congress Chairperson Abhishek Banerjee addressed a public rally at Khandarui in Dantan-2 block in the district of Paschim Medinipur.

He hit out at the Opposition, saying the CPI(M), BJP and Congress have made an alliance which is bereft of ideology, just to stop the developmental activities taken up by the Trinamool Congress Government. However, the people of the State would show the door to this alliance, he said, adding that opposing Mamata Banerjee is akin to opposing development.

He also said that the BJP will not be able to return to power at the Centre in 2019. Abhishek said, BJP should concentrate on how to win Delhi, and then only turn its attention to Bengal.

Abhishek Banerjee pointed out that many members of the CPI(M) are now campaigning for the saffron party; he also reminded people about the acts of violence committed by the CPI(M) in Nandigram, in Jangalmahal and in many other places. He also said that even after enjoying power for 34 years, the CPI(M) did not bring about any development for Bengal.

Abhishek said the people living in rural areas know what the Trinamool Congress has done for the development of villages for the last five years.

National President of All India Trinamool Youth Congress, Abhishek Banerjee addresses a huge mass rally at Kechenda High School at Khatra on Friday where he slammed the BJP for not fulfilling the promises it made to the people.

He also highlighted the work done by the West Bengal Government in the last seven years. He said: “The work done by Mamata Banerjee led government for establishing peace in Jangalmahal is unprecedented. Not even 10 per cent of this work was done here since independence. To continue the tides of development in Jangalmahal, I appeal to the people to ensure Trinamool wins in every seat in the upcoming three-tier Panchayat polls.”

He also attacked the BJP for not fulfilling the promises it made to the people. He said, “Narendra Modi has failed to deliver the promises it made. They should not seek votes from the people again. People have seen both CPI(M) and BJP in power. None of them delivered their promises. For 34 years, Jangalmahal was a hub of Maoists. There was only bloodshed. Now only peace reigns here. But BJP-ruled States have failed to put an end to Maoist violence. In Bengal, not a single death due to Maoist violence has been reported in the last six years.”

He also alleged that Opposition parties know they cannot win in the elections, so they have gone to court.

শুক্রবার খাতড়া থানার কেচন্দা হাই স্কুল মাঠে নির্বাচনী জনসভা করেন যুব তৃণমূলের সর্বভারতীয় সভাপতি তথা সাংসদ অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

তৃণমূল সরকারের কাজের খতিয়ান তুলে ধরে বলেন, ‘‌মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সরকার জঙ্গলমহলে শান্তি এবং উন্নয়নকে ত্বরান্বিত করতে যা যা করেছে, তা এককথায় নজিরবিহীন। স্বাধীনতার পর কোনও সরকার জঙ্গলমহল বা এই জেলার জন্য তার ১০ শতাংশ কাজও করেনি। তাই শান্তি এবং উন্নয়নের ধারাকে অব্যাহত রাখতে জঙ্গলমহলবাসী সব ক’‌টি গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত, পঞ্চয়েত সমিতি এবং জেলা পরিষদে তৃণমূলকে জয়যুক্ত করুন।’‌‌

এদিন বিজেপি–কে কড়া আক্রমণ করলেন যুব তৃণমূল সভাপতি বলেন, ‘‌কথা রাখেনি বিজেপি সরকার। ক্ষমতায় আসার সময় নরেন্দ্র মোদি যা যা প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলেন, তার কোনওটাই পালন করতে পারেননি। তাই ওদের উচিত নয় মানুষের কাছে ফের ভোট চাওয়া।’

বিজেপি–সিপিএমের সমালোচনা করে বলেন, ‘‌দুটি রাজনৈতিক দলকেই মানুষ পরীক্ষা করে দেখে নিয়েছেন। এরা যা যা প্রতিশ্রুতি দেয়, তা রক্ষা করতে পারে না। সিপিএমের ৩৪ বছরের রাজত্বে এই জঙ্গলমহল ছিল মাওবাদীদের দখলে। তখন শুধু রক্ত ঝরত এখানে। মানুষের স্বাভাবিক জীবনযাপনের সুযোগ ছিল না। আজ সেই জঙ্গলমহলে নিরবচ্ছিন্ন শান্তি এবং উন্নয়নের জোয়ার বয়ে চলেছে। বিজেপি বলেছিল, তাদের শাসিত রাজ্যগুলি থেকে মাওবাদী উপদ্রব বন্ধ করবে। কিন্তু বিজেপি–‌শাসিত একাধিক রাজ্যে আজও মাওবাদীরা অশান্তি সৃষ্টি করে চলেছে, মানুষ খুন করছে। অথচ গত ৬ বছরে এই রাজ্যে মাওবাদীদের হাতে একজনেরও মৃত্যুর খবর নেই।’‌

তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘‌এই জেলায় কিছু কিছু আসনে তৃণমূল বিনা প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতায় নির্বাচিত হয়েছে। বিরোধীরা বুঝতে পেরেছে, নির্বাচনে লড়ে জিততে পারবে না। তাই তারা নির্বাচন থেকে সরে দাঁড়িয়েছে। তাদের শুভবুদ্ধির উদয় হয়েছে।’‌বিরোধীদের বিরুদ্ধে ভোট বানচালেরও অভিযোগ করে তিনি বলেন, ‘‌জিততে পারবে না বলেই তারা বারে বারে আদালতে যাচ্ছে।’‌

Trinamool Congress Chairperson Mamata Banerjee is going to address the party’s annual Student-Youth Convention for North Bengal at 3 pm today. It will take place at Kanchanjunga Stadium in Siliguri.

The annual convention has been divided from this year into two conventions – a North Bengal Convention and a South Bengal Convention.

Besides Mamata Banerjee, AITYC President Abhishek Banerjee, and senior leadership of the party will be present at the convention.

অন্যান্য বছরের মত এবছরও তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের বার্ষিক ছাত্র-যুব সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হচ্ছে। এই বছর, উত্তর ও দক্ষিণবঙ্গে দুটি পৃথক সম্মেলন হচ্ছে।

উত্তর বঙ্গের সম্মেলনটি আজ আয়োজিত হবে শিলিগুড়ির কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা স্টেডিয়ামে দুপুর ১টায়।

এই সম্মেলনের প্রধান বক্তা তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সর্বভারতীয় সভানেত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। উপস্থিত থাকবেন তৃণমূল যুব কংগ্রেসের সর্বভারতীয় সভাপতি অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়, দলের অন্যান্য নেতৃত্ববৃন্দ এবং অগণিত সমর্থক।

Speaking at the student-youth convention of Trinamool Congress, AITYC National President Asbhishek Banerjee today said that the death knell of BJP has been sounded. “They got two goals in Bengal and three goals in Rajasthan. Their downward spiral began in Gujarat. Du hajar unish (2019), BJP finish,” he commented.

He also had a message for the party workers: “Old workers are our assets. The new workers must learn about the struggles and movements of Mamata Banerjee. We all have to work unitedly.”

He took a dig at the Opposition. “For conducting bike rally in Bengal they are hiring workers/bikes from UP. They do not have any base here. Those who used to wear red jerseys for CPI(M) are seeking votes wearing saffron shirts today. People have rejected the negative politics of the Opposition. They only indulge in canards and conspiracies.”

He also said that those who gave the slogans ‘Bhaag Mamata Bhaag’ are nowhere to be seen today.

Regarding the upcoming Panchayat polls, he said, “We have to win people’s trust in Panchayat polls. Let the Opposition indulge in smear campaign, we will continue the surge of development.”

Abhishek maintained, “We never take any anti-people policies. On the other hand, Centre is bringing FRDI Bill. You will never no longer have any control over your savings.”

Abhishek Banerjee reiterated, “We will never bow our heads before anyone. We are answerable to the people. Mamata Banerjee is not in politics for votes. She is committed to the welfare and development of the people of Bengal.”

 

বিজেপি সরকারের বিদায়ঘণ্টা বেজে গেছেঃ অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় হাওড়ায়

 

আজ তৃণমূলের ছাত্র যুব সম্মেলনে বক্তব্য রাখেন তৃণমূল যুব কংগ্রেসের সর্বভারতীয় সভাপতি অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি বলেন, ওরা যত মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বিরোধিতা করেছে, তত মুখ থুবড়ে পড়েছে। ৩ গোল খেয়ছে রাজস্থানে, ২ গোল খেয়েছে বাংলায়, গুজরাট থেকেই বিজেপি সরকারের বিদায়ঘণ্টা বেজে গেছে। ২০১৯ বিজেপি ফিনিশ।

দলের কর্মীদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন, আমাদের পুরনো দিনের কর্মীরা আমাদের দলের সম্পদ। যারা নতুন এসছেন, তাদের তৃণমূলের ইতিহাস, মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের গণ আন্দোলন সম্বন্ধে জানতে হবে। নতুন আর পুরনোর সংমিশ্রণেই একটা দল বলবান হয়, বুথে-ব্লকে পুরনো কর্মীদের চিনতে হবে।

বিরোধীদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন, বাইক র‍্যালি করতে হলে উত্তর প্রদেশ থেকে বাইক নিয়ে আসতে হচ্ছে, বাইক জোগাড় করতে পারে না, ভোট চায় কোন মুখে? যারা সিপিএমের হয়ে দুর্নীতি করত, দাদাগিরি করত, তারাই আজ বিজেপির হয়ে ভোট চাইতে যাচ্ছে, কুৎসা ও বিরোধিতার যোগ্য জবাব মানুষ দিয়েছে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, ভাগ মমতা ভাগ যারা বলেছিল, আজ তাদের অণুবীক্ষণ যন্ত্র দিয়েও বাংলার মাটিতে খুঁজে পাওয়া যায় না।

আগামী পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনকে কেন্দ্র করে তিনি বলেন, আগামী ত্রিস্তর পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনে আমাদের সব জায়গায় গণতান্ত্রিক ভাবে শান্তিপূর্ণ ভোটের মাধ্যমে আমাদের মানুষের সমর্থন, ভালোবাসা, আস্থাকে পাথেয় করে সেটা অর্জন করতে হবে, মানুষকে আমাদের উন্নয়নে সামিল করতে হবে। যারা কুৎসা করছে, তাদের করতে দিন, আমরা উন্নয়নে ছিলাম, মানুষের পাশে ছিলাম, আমরা মানুষের পাশে থাকবো।

অভিষেক আরও বলেন, এফআরডিআই থেকে শুরু করে, নোটবাতিল, জিএসটি একের পর এক জনবিরোধী সিদ্ধান্ত নিচ্ছে। এফআরডিআই বিল পাস হলে আপনার কর দেওয়া ব্যাঙ্কে রাখা গচ্ছিত টাকার উপর আগামীদিনে আপনার অধিকার থাকবে না।

তিনি বলেন, মানুষকে আঘাত করবে এরম কোনও সিদ্ধান্ত আমরা নিতে পারব না, আমরা মানুষের প্রতি দায়বদ্ধ। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ভোটের রাজনীতি করেন না, আমরা উন্নয়নের পরিষেবা প্রতি মানুষের বাড়িতে বাড়িতে পৌঁছে দিতে চাই।
