To help the rakhi-making industry carve out a niche for itself, the West Bengal Khadi and Village Industries Board (WBKVIB), has come forward with necessary financial and technical assistance to give it a new lease of life. WBKVIB is under the Bengal Government’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Textiles Department.

Rakhi-making is a well-known cottage industry in Kalna in Purba Bardhaman district. At present, 30,000 people are engaged in the rakhi industry; about 260 women are part of the industry as well.

WBKVIB has helped in the setting up a Common Facility Centre (CFC) at Rs 75 lakh for offering technical know-how to make the industry viable. A result of the help by the government has been, according to the Weavers and Artisans Society secretary, the supplying of 3.9 lakh rakhis to the State Government in 2017.

The board is also providing working capital and online support. The latter has helped the association immensely in promoting its products.

 

রাখি শিল্পীদের পাশে দাঁড়ালো খাদি ও গ্রামোদ্যোগ বোর্ড

রাখি শিল্পকে উজ্জীবিত করতে উদ্যোগী হল West Bengal Khadi and Village Industries Board (WBKVIB)। এই শিল্পের সাথে যুক্ত সমস্ত মানুষকে প্রয়োজনীয় আর্থিক ও কারিগরি বা কৌশলগত সহায়তা করবে তারা। WBKVIB রাজ্য সরকারের কুটির, ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি উদ্যোগ এবং বস্ত্র শিল্প দপ্তরের অধীনস্থ একটি সংস্থা।

পূর্ব বর্ধমানের কালনা জেলার ৩০,০০০ মানুষ রাখি তৈরীর শিল্পের সাথে যুক্ত। এর মধ্যে মহিলা আছেন ২৬০ জন। এ রাজ্যে কালনার রাখির চাহিদা সবসময় তুঙ্গে থাকে।

WBKVIB ৭৫ লাখ টাকা ব্যয়ে একটি কমন ফেসিলিটি সেন্টার গড়বে। এই সেন্টারে রাখি তৈরীর সমস্ত আধুনিক প্রযুক্তি শেখানো হবে যা শিল্পীদের সহায়তা করবে। উল্লেখ্য, ২০১৭ সালে রাজ্য সরকারকে ৩.৯ লক্ষ রাখি পাঠিয়েছে কালনার শিল্পীরা।

ব্যবসা প্রসার করতে WBKVIB শিল্পীদের আর্থিক সহায়তা যেমন করছে, তেমনই অনলাইনে বিপণন সংক্রান্ত সাহায্যও প্রদান করছে তারা।
