The BGBS 2018 kicked off on Tuesday with the participation of nine countries. The visiting Italian delegation of almost thirty is led by ArtValley, an organisation that has brought in business houses to the BGBS since 2017.

In a significant step forward, an MoU was signed on the eve of BGBS 2018, between Italian Leather Research Institute and CLC TA Tanner’s Association, Kolkata.

The two principal persons from the Italian side were Paolo Gurisatti, President of SSIP district and Golin Mauro, CEO, Spraytech.

This has the support of the West Bengal government and is involved in exchange and support in providing technical competence to the Bengal tanning companies, stated professor Alberto Cavicchiolo of ArtValley.

৩২টি দেশের ৪০০০ প্রতিনিধির সাথে অনুষ্ঠিত হল বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন ২০১৮। অন্যতম পার্টনার দেশ ইতালির এক প্রতিনিধি দল এই সম্মেলনে অংশগ্রহণ করে ArtValley নামক এক সংস্থার নেতৃত্বে।

ইতালির পক্ষে ছিলেন Paolo Gurisatti, President of SSIP district এবং Golin Mauro, CEO, Spraytech।

এবছরের সম্মেলনে ইতালির সংস্থা Italian Leather Research Institute এর সাথে কলকাতার CLC TA Tanner’s Association মৌ স্বাক্ষরিত হয়।

বাংলার ট্যানিং কোম্পানিগুলিকে প্রযুক্তিগত সহায়তা প্রদান করবে এই সংস্থা, এমনটাই জানেন ArtValley’র প্রফেসর Alberto Cavicchiolo।

Bengal Global Business Summit 2018 began today. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the two-day business summit at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister thanked the captains of the industry present there. She highlighted the advantages and opportunities for investing in Bengal.

The past editions of the Bengal Global Business Summit have proven to be milestones in terms of establishing Bengal as an ideal investment destination, and the 4th edition of Bengal Global Business Summit will project its business-readiness to the global investor community, spearheading the surge ahead.

Highlights of the CM’s speech:

Captains of industry are present here today and spoke from their heart. There is nothing much for me to say.

Bengal has a strategic location. It is the gateway for ASEAN countries, NE India. Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan are our bordering countries. There are a lot of opportunities.

Nine major countries have become our partners for BGBS: Germany, UK, Italy, France, Poland, S Kora, Czech Republic and UAE. Large delegations are present from China (39), Poland (50), UK (25), Italy (40).

As Ambani ji said, in ease of doing business, Bengal is No. 1 State. Despite the legacy of 34 years, we are trying our best.

Our plan expenditure has increased by 3 times; capital expenditure has increased by 7 times in six years.

Our GDP has more than doubled in six years. We are among the top States in terms of GDP.

In Skill Development and MSME sectors, Bengal is No 1.We have received the highest award for e-governance. Our e-taxation system has received award.

We have created more than 81 lakh employment in six years. In creation of rural employment, Bengal is No 1 in India. We are proud of that.

Before we came to power, man days lost due to strike was more than 70 lakh. Now, it is zero.

We want both industry and agriculture to prosper. They are like two sisters.

We have surplus power, skilled power. We are a powerhouse of talent. We have created the requisite infrastructure for industry.

We have received UN recognition for our scheme to empower the girl child – Kanyashree.

FIFA was all praises for the arrangements made by Bengal for U-17 Football World Cup.

Accountability, credibility, transparency, sincerity and punctuality – these are our credentials.

Bengal has the potential in every sector. Bengal is the cultural capital of the world. Bengal is the investment destination now.

In Tagore’s words, “Esho amar ghore esho” (come to our home). Come and invest in Bengal.

 

বাংলাই শিল্পের আদর্শ গন্তব্য: মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

শুরু হল দুদিন ব্যাপী বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন ২০১৮। নিউটাউনের বিশ্ব বঙ্গ কনভেনশন সেন্টারে এই সম্মেলনের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

এই দুদিন ব্যাপী সম্মেলনে দেশ বিদেশ থেকে শিল্পপতি, কর্পোরেট লিডার, প্রতিনিধিরা এসেছেন। অতীতের তিনটি সম্মেলনে বাংলাকে শিল্পের গন্তব্য হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করতে অনেকটাই সক্ষম হয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। সেই কাজটাই এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে এই সম্মেলনে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশ:

আজ এখানে অনেক শিল্পপতি উপস্থিত, তারা সকলে তাদের মনের কথা বলেছেন। আমার বেশি কিছু বলার নেই।

বাংলার ভৌগলিক অবস্থান যথেষ্ট গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। বাংলা উত্তর পূর্ব ভারত ও দক্ষিণ পূর্ব এশিয়ার প্রবেশদ্বার। বাংলাদেশ, নেপাল, ভুটান আমাদের প্রতিবেশী দেশ। বাংলায় অনেক সুযোগ রয়েছে।

৯ টি দেশ বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে আমাদের পার্টনার: জার্মানি, ইউকে, ইতালি, ফ্রান্স, পোল্যান্ড, দক্ষিণ কোরিয়া, চেক রিপাবলিক এবং ইউএই।

বিভিন্ন দেশ থেকে এসেছে বড় প্রতিনিধিদল – চীন (৩৯), পোল্যান্ড (৫০), ইউকে (২৫), ইতালি (৪০)।

আমরা আমাদের দেশকে ভালোবাসি। আমরা সব ধর্ম, জাতি, সকলের জন্য কাজ করি।

অর্থনৈতিক, ভৌগলিক অবস্থান, রাজনৈতিক স্থিতিশীলতা – সব দিক দিয়েই বাংলা আদর্শ গন্তব্য।

আম্বানি জি ঠিকই বলেছেন, শিল্প গড়ার সুবিধায় বাংলা ১ নম্বর। বাংলায় ৩৪ বছরের অপশাসন সত্ত্বেও আমরা বিভিন্ন উদ্যোগ নিচ্ছি।

গত ৬ বছরে আমাদের পরিকল্পনা খাতে ব্যয় ৩ গুণ বেড়েছে এবং মূলধনী ব্যয় ৭ গুণ বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে।

৬ বছরে আমাদের জিডিপি দ্বিগুন হয়েছে। অন্যান্য রাজ্যের তুলনায় বাংলা জিডিপি বৃদ্ধির দিক দিয়ে এগিয়ে।

দক্ষতা বিকাশ, ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্প ক্ষেত্রে বাংলা ১ নম্বরে। ই-গভর্ন্যান্স, ই-ট্যাক্সেশানে আমরা পুরস্কার পেয়েছি।

যুব সমাজ আমাদের অনুপ্রেরণা। ওরাই আমাদের ভবিষ্যৎ। গত ৬ বছরে বাংলায় ৮১ লক্ষ কর্মসংস্থান হয়েছে।

গ্রামীণ কর্মসংস্থানে বাংলা ১ নম্বরে। এটা আমাদের গর্ব। আপনারা যত বিনিয়োগ করবেন কর্মসংস্থান তত বাড়বে।

আমরা ক্ষমতায় আসার আগে বনধের জন্য ৭০ লক্ষ শ্রমদিবস নষ্ট হয়েছিল। এখন সেই সংখ্যা শূন্য।

শিল্প বাড়লেই রাজ্য এগোবে। এ কথা শিরোধার্য। তা বলে কৃষি বঞ্চিত হবে না। শিল্প ও কৃষি দুই বোনের মতো বাড়বে রাজ্যে। বাংলাই পথ দেখাবে অন্যদের।

আমাদের উদ্বৃত্ত বিদ্যুৎ রয়েছে, দক্ষ শ্রমিকও আছে। বাংলার মেধা বিশ্ববিখ্যাত। বাংলায় শিল্পের পরিকাঠামো রয়েছে।

মেয়েদের ক্ষমতায়নের জন্য বাংলার কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্প রাষ্ট্রসংঘের পুরস্কার পেয়েছে।

বাংলায় ফুটবল বিশ্বকাপ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। ফিফা আমাদের আয়োজনের ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেছে।

দায়বদ্ধতা, বিশ্বাসযোগ্যতা, স্বচ্ছতা, আন্তরিকতা এবং স্থিতিশীলতা – আমাদের মন্ত্র।

বাংলায় সব ক্ষেত্রে সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। বাংলা সংস্কৃতির পীঠস্থান। বাংলাই এখন বিনিয়োগের গন্তব্যস্থল।

Ever since attending the first Bengal Global Business Summits a few years back, entrepreneurs and leaders of industry have showered praises on Bengal and its and its industrial climate. They have reacted with a lot of positivity to the Bengal Government’s attitude and have highly appreciated Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s honest efforts to bring industry back to the state. They have enthusiastically participated in the Bengal Global Business Summits.

Here are a few samples of comments after the successful 2017 summit (held in January):

বিনিয়োগকারী ও শিল্পপতিদের দ্বারা প্রশংসিত বাংলা

প্রথম বারের বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে অংশগ্রহনের সময় থেকেই শিল্পপতিরা বাংলার তথা বাংলার শিল্পমুখী বাতাবরণের প্রশংসা করেছেন। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের বিনিয়োগ আনার প্রয়াসের প্রশংসা করেছেন। তাঁরা খুব আগ্রহের সঙ্গে সম্মেলনে অংশগ্রহণও করেছেন।

২০১৭ সালের সম্মেলনের পর কিছু শিল্পপতির মন্তব্য তুলে ধরা হলঃ-

এই সম্মেলন একটি মঞ্চ যেখানে এই রাজ্যের উন্নতির জন্য বিভিন্ন কাণ্ডারিদের ডাকা হয়। এই সম্মেলনে একটি সফল অংশীদারিত্বের মাধ্যমে বাংলার উন্নয়নের প্রচেষ্টা করা হয়। বাংলা উল্লেখযোগ্য ভাবে অর্থনৈতিক ও সামাজিক উন্নয়ন করেছে ও সর্বতোভাবে প্রচেষ্টা করছে ৯ কোটি মানুষের জীবনধারার উন্নয়নের জন্য (মুকেশ আম্বানি, সিএমডি, রিলায়েন্স ইন্ডাস্ত্রিজ)

গত ছয় বছরে আমূল পরিবর্তন হয়েছে,প্রগতিশীল নেতৃত্বের জন্য সরকারি সংস্থাগুলি আরো পেশাদারিত্বের ও দ্রুততার সঙ্গে কাজ করতে সক্ষম হয়েছে (সঞ্জীব গোয়েঙ্কা, চেয়ারম্যান, আরপি-সঞ্জীব গোয়েঙ্কা গ্রুপ)

বাংলা আমাদের কর্মভূমি। বাংলার মানুষের ভালোবাসা ও সরকারের উৎসাহ, এ রাজ্যে আমাদের সমৃদ্ধিতে সাহায্য করেছে। বাংলায় আমরা খুব সংবেদনশীল এবং সহায়ক সরকার পেয়েছি (কিশোর বিয়ানি, এমডি, ফিউচার গ্রুপ)

বার্ষিক বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে সরকার বাংলার সম্ভাবনার কথা তুলে ধরে বিনিয়োগ আনতে চায়। সাফল্য তুলে ধরার পাশাপাশি রাজ্যের উচিত এই মঞ্চের মাধ্যমে বাণিজ্য গোষ্ঠীর সঙ্গে নিয়মিত বার্তালাপ করা যার ফলে “শিল্প গড়ার সুবিধা” আরও সহজ হয়, যাতে একজন বিনিয়োগকারী এমনভাবে নিজেকে তৈরী করতে পারে যাতে কর্মসংস্থান হবে (সুনিল কানোরিয়া, ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান, শ্রেয়ি ইনফ্রাস্ট্রাকচার ফিনান্স লিমিটেড)

বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন ২০১৫ ছিল একটি মাইলস্টোন অনুষ্ঠান যেখানে বিনিয়োগকারীদের থেকে খুব আশাপ্রদ প্রতিক্রিয়া পাওয়া গেছে, আমরা আগামী সম্মেলনে যোগদান করার জন্য আগ্রহী (গৌরব স্বরুপ, চেয়ারম্যান, ফিকি ওয়েস্ট বেঙ্গল স্টেট কাউন্সিল অ্যান্ড এমডি, পাহাড়পুর কুলিং টাওয়ার্স)

বাংলার অর্থনীতি পূর্ববর্তী বছরের ক্রমবর্ধমান মন্দার সফল ভাবে প্রতিরোধ করতে সক্ষম হয়েছে ও আজ বাংলা উন্নতির মুখে। আমরা বাংলায় উন্নতি করতে চাই যার ফলে ক্রেতা ও বিনিয়োগকারী উভয়ই সমৃদ্ধ হবে। এই রাজ্যের শিল্পায়নের গতির সাফল্যকে আমরা কটক ও রাজগঙ্গাপুরে অনুকরন করেছি, প্রথম দফার কাজ শেষ করে শালবনিতে আমরা আমাদের উপস্থিতি আরও বাড়াতে চাই, আমাদের উন্নত মেশিনের মাধ্যমে সারা রাজ্যে সিমেন্ট পৌঁছে যাবে, পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নে উন্নতি আসবে (পুনিত ডালমিয়া, এমডি, ডালমিয়া ভারত অ্যান্ড গ্রুপ ডিরেক্টর, ওসিএল ইন্ডিয়া লিমিটেড)

নির্মাণক্ষেত্রে বাংলায় প্রচুর সুযোগ আছে-আমাদের ভৌগলিক সুবিধা, দক্ষ শ্রমিক ও প্রাকৃতিক সম্পদের সুবিধা আছে (সুমিত মজুমদার, সিএমডি, টিআইএল লিমিটেড)

আমরা ১২ বছর এ রাজ্যে আছি ও ১৬০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করেছি। এখানে শিল্প গড়ার সুবিধা আছে, রাজনৈতিক ও প্রশাসনিক ব্যবস্থায় যেকোনো সমস্যার সহজে সমাধান হয় (ওয়াইকে মোদী,এক্সিকিউটিভ চেয়ারম্যান, গ্রেট ইস্টার্ন এনার্জি কর্পোরেশন লিমিটেড)

আমি নিশ্চিত রাজ্যের উন্নয়নের পাশাপাশি বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন বিনিয়োগের এক নতুন যুগের সুচনা করবে।এখানকার বাতাবরন আশাপ্রদ এবং আমি আশাবাদী (ভিরেশ ওবেরয়, ফর্মার সিইও অ্যান্ড এমডি, এমজাঙ্কশন সার্ভিসেস লিমিটেড)

উন্নয়নশীল মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ও তাঁর দল রাজ্যে একটি রূপান্তরমূলক পরিবর্তন এনেছেন যা আগে কখনো এমনভাবে বিনিয়োগকারীদের আকৃষ্ট করেনি (ডঃ জ্যোৎস্না সুরি, সিএমডি, ভারত হোটেলস লিমিটেড)

এই প্রতিযোগিতার যুগে আমি প্রথমেই বলতে চাই কেন আজ বাংলা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। এর তিনটি প্রধান কারণ- অবস্থানগত, গতি (দুরত্ব এবং সরবরাহ), প্রতিভার সহজলভ্যতা, সরকারের সহযোগিতা (ডঃ পূর্ণেন্দু চ্যাটার্জি, ফাউন্ডার অ্যান্ড চেয়ারম্যান দি চ্যাটার্জি গ্রুপ)

বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন একটি বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠান। আমরা কয়েকটি বিনিয়োগ চুক্তি স্বাক্ষর করেছি, যেমন এম আর টি এস হাব। এতে বাংলার নির্মাণ শিল্প পুনরুজ্জীবিত হবে। এতে অতিরিক্ত বিদেশী বিনিয়োগ আসবে, যা আমরা ইতিমধ্যেই বিমানবন্দরের মাধ্যমে পেয়েছি (পার্থ ঘোষ, এমডি, বেঙ্গল এরোট্রোপলিস প্রোজেক্টস লিমিটেড)

Over the past three years, Bengal Global Business Summit has emerged as one of the foremost business summits in India. Some of the top industrialists have participated in these summits, along with several international companies.

The summits have brought substantial investments too, something that was unimaginable during the Left Front rule. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s vision of industrial growth and prosperity for Bengal is bearing fruit.

The first edition of this summit was organised on January 7 and 8, 2015. The summit received participation from 20 countries and regions including the UK, Japan, USA, Singapore, Australia, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Israel, Spain, Belarus, Czech Republic, Korea, Luxembourg and the neighbouring countries of Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. Captains of Indian industry and global entrepreneurs were invited to share their experiences and their future business plans for the state. Investment proposals worth Rs 2.4 lakh crore were received.

The second edition of the summit was held on January 8 and 9, 2016. It has plenary sessions addressed by dignitaries from India and abroad and national and international speakers who shared their thoughts and experiences. The summit also focused on B2B (business-to-business) and G2B (government-to-business) interactions. BGBS 2016 had the presence of industry leaders, senior ministers from India and abroad, heads of business, and government leaders from 26 countries including USA, UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan, China, Korea, Bhutan, Bangladesh, etc. participated in the Summit. Living up to the tagline of ‘Bengal Surging Ahead’, BGBS 2016 concluded on a very high and optimistic note. Rs 2.50 lakh crore of business announcements, business document exchanges, expressions of interest and investment proposals were received at the summit.

The third edition of the summit, held on January 21 and 22, 2017, resulted in expressions of interest and investment proposals worth Rs 2.35 lakh crore. It was inaugurated by Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India, and plenary sessions were addressed by dignitaries and business leaders, from both India and abroad. There was participation by over 4,000 delegates from across India and 29 other countries. Japan, Poland, Italy & Germany were the partner countries.

 

ফিরে দেখা বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন ২০১৫-১৭

গত তিন বছরে দেশের অন্যতম সফল বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন হিসেবে আত্মপ্রকাশ করেছে বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন। অনেক শীর্ষস্থানীয় শিল্পপতি ও আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থা এই সম্মেলনে অংশ নিয়েছে। এসেছে বিপুল বিনিয়োগ। এই শিল্পমুখী পরিস্থিতি বাম আমলে ছিল কল্পনার অতীত। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের অনুপ্রেরণায় এই সুফল এসছে।

প্রথম বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন হয় ২০১৫ সালের ৭ ও ৮ জানুয়ারি। অংশ নেয় ২০টি দেশ: ব্রিটেন, জাপান, আমেরিকা, সিঙ্গাপুর, অস্ট্রেলিয়া, চিন, মালয়েশিয়া, তাইওয়ান, ইসরায়েল, স্পেন, বেলারুস, চেক রিপাবলিক, কোরিয়া, লুক্সেম্বরগ এবং প্রতিবেশী রাষ্ট্র বাংলাদেশ, নেপাল ও ভূটান। ভারতের পাশাপাশি বিদেশের নামী শিল্পপতিরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন এই সম্মেলনে। ২.৪ লক্ষ কোটি টাকার বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব আসে।

দ্বিতীয় বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হয় ২০১৬ সালের ৮ ও ৯ জানুয়ারি। দেশ বিদেশের অতিথিরা তাদের অভিজ্ঞতা তুলে ধরেন এই সম্মেলনে। এই সম্মেলনে জোর দেওয়া হয়েছিল বিজনেস টু বিজনেস ও গভার্ন্মেন্ট টু বিজনেস আলোচনার ওপর। এই সম্মেলনে ২৬টি দেশ অংশ নেয়: আমেরিকা, ব্রিটেন, ইতালি, স্পেন, জার্মানি, জাপান, চিন, কোরিয়া, ভূটান, বাংলাদেশ ও অন্যান্য দেশ। সম্মেলনের ট্যাগ লাইন ছিল ‘বেঙ্গল সার্জিং অ্যাহেড’। এই সম্মেলনে ২.৫ লক্ষ কোটি টাকার বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব আসে।

তৃতীয় বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হয় ২০১৭ সালের ২১ ও ২২ জানুয়ারি। ২.৩৫ লক্ষ কোটি টাকার বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব আসে। ভারতের তৎকালীন রাষ্ট্রপতি প্রনব মুখোপাদ্ধ্যায় উদ্বোধন করেন এই সম্মেলন। দেশ বিদেশের শিল্পপতিরা বক্তব্য রাখেন। ২৯ টি দেশ থেকে ৪০০০ এরও বেশী প্রতিনিধি অংশ নেন এই সম্মেলনে। জাপান, পোল্যান্ড, ইতালি ও জার্মানি ছিল সম্মেলনের পার্টনার দেশ।

The cement factory of the JSW Group at Salboni was inaugurated today by Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The factory will create employment for hundreds of people.

It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister had inaugurated the commencement of construction of the 2.4 metric tonne (MT)-capacity cement factory at Salboni in Paschim Medinipur on January 6 in 2016. The cement factory has come up on an 134-acre plot at a cost of Rs 800 crore.

This was a landmark event ahead of the Bengal Global Business Summit, to be held on January 16 and 17.

It may be recalled that during the inauguration of the commencement of construction of the cement plant, the JSW Group had also announced its plans to invest around Rs 10,000 crore to set up a power plant and a paint manufacturing factory at Salboni where the group has acquired around 4,000 acres of land.

 

Highlights of the Chief Minister’s speech:

The work for this project has been completed ahead of time. These projects would lead to more opportunities for employment.

Bengal Global Business Summit begins tomorrow. I am inviting everyone to be a part of the summit.

45 lakh girls have received Kanyashree scholarships. 57 lakh SC/ST students have been given Sikshashree scholarships.

As per the Sabuj Shree Scheme, a sapling is handed over to the mothers of every child born.

Through the Samabyathi Scheme, Rs 2,000 is given to the kith and kin of the deceased for performing the last rites.

Eight lakh people in the state are given rice and wheat (atta) at Rs 2 per kg.

Healthcare is free in all government hospitals and health centres in Bengal.

We have distributed 70 lakh bicycles to students from Class IX to XII.

The funds for ASHA and ICDS projects have been stopped by the Central Government. It is because of the State Government that these essential projects, meant for the masses, are continuing.

ASHA and ICDS volunteers have been brought under the Swasthya Sathi insurance scheme.

Some people are conspiring to stop others from earning an honest livelihood. But one cannot be forced to obey their orders. Our government, on the other hand, is completely transparent. We do not resort to any dishonesty or conspiracy.

The flood-affected farmers have been given a total aid of Rs 1,200 crore. I want farmers to live well.

To enable self-help groups to thrive, we have arranged for them to get adequate loans from cooperative banks.

On January 29, 5 lakh people would be handed over houses of their own.

On February 2, we will lay the foundation stone for 7,500 km rural roads.

We would be saving 25 per cent of the money allocated to various departments and would be using it for road-laying and drinking water projects.

We have provided employment opportunities to 81 lakh youth.

Today, Bengal is the number one state in MSME, 100-Days’ Work, skill training and e-tendering. Bengal is a global model because of Kanyashree.

Our students are our pride.

We have created projects for every category of people. We have given fish vans, dhamsa madol (implying State Government aid to folk artistes), patta (land deeds), football (implying the distribution of the State Government’s Joyee brand of football among clubs and organizations, and organising tournaments like the hugely successful Jangalmahal Cup), tractors (implying help to farmers for buying or renting farm equipment) and much more.

We want people to live well. Bengal in general is large-hearted and we, the government, are proud of that.

Let more industrial units open in Salboni. Let the tide of development wash over the whole district (Paschim Medinipur).

Without you all beside me, I am nothing, with you all, I am whole. Taking everyone along is what life is all about, trying to go alone would grind life to a halt.

Bengal would be the pride of the whole world.

 

আজ শালবনিতে সিমেন্ট কারখানা উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

নতুন বছরে শালবনির মানুষের কাছে খুশির খবর। জানুয়ারি মাসের মাঝামাঝি সময়েই চালু হতে চলেছে জিন্দালদের সিমেন্ট কারখানা। আজ এই কারখানা উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যানার্জি। উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন  সজ্জন জিন্দাল, সিমেন্ট কারখানার ম্যানেজিং ডিরেক্টর পার্থ জিন্দাল–সহ রাজ্যের অন্যান্য মন্ত্রী ও সরকারি কর্মকর্তারা।

জিন্দালদের এই সিমেন্ট কারখানা রাজ্যের শিল্পে একটি মাইলস্টোন। প্রথমে এখানে ২৫০ জনের কর্মসংস্থান হবে। পরে নিয়োগ করা হবে আরও ৬০০ জনকে। সভা থেকে ২৫০০ জন উপভোক্তার হাতে বিভিন্ন সরকারি প্রকল্পের সহায়তা প্রদান করেন।

২০১৬ সালে সিমেন্ট কারখানার ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর স্থাপন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যানার্জি। এখন ১৫০ একর জমিতে তৈরি হয়েছে সিমেন্ট কারখানা।

সেই বছরের ১২ জুলাই এখান থেকে সিমেন্ট বোঝাই একটি গাড়ি যায় তারাপীঠে। এই কারখানা থেকে বছরে ২৪ লক্ষ টন সিমেন্ট উৎপাদন হবে। পরে তা বাড়বে।

আমরা নবম থেকে দ্বাদশ শ্রেণীর ছাত্রছাত্রিদের বিনামুল্যে সাইকেল দিচ্ছি। ৭০ লক্ষ সাইকেল দেওয়া হয়েছে

আশা ও আই সি ডি এস এর মেয়েদের ভুল বোঝানো হচ্ছে। আশা ও আই সি ডি এস এর প্রজেক্ট বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার। রাজ্য সরকার এই প্রজেক্টগুলি চালাচ্ছে। রাজ্য এগিয়ে না এলে এগুলো বন্ধ হয়ে যেত

আশা ও আই সি ডি এস এর কর্মীদের স্বাস্থ্য সাথী প্রকল্পের আওতায় আনা হয়েছে। এগুলো জনগণের প্রজেক্ট। কেউ কেউ চক্রান্ত করে মানুশের ইনকামের পথ বন্ধ করে দিচ্ছে।

মানুষ ওদের কথা শুনতে বাধ্য নয়। আমাদের সরকার সবার জন্য। আমাদের সরকার কন অবিচার করে না। আমরা কোন বেআইনি, অন্যায্য কাজ করি না।

বন্যায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত কৃষকদের ১২০০ কোটি টাকা দেওয়া হয়েছে। আমি চাই আমার কৃষকরা ভাল থাকুক। স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীগুলি যাতে বেশি করে ঋণ পায় সেজন্য আমরা কো অপারেটিভ ব্যাঙ্ককে ইনভলভ করছি.

আগামী ২৯ জানুয়ারি ৫ লক্ষ মানুষকে বাড়ি দেওয়া হবে। আগামী ২ ফেব্রুয়ারি সাড়ে ৭ হাজার কিলোমিটার রাস্তার শিলান্যাস করব।

আমরা সরকারের ২৫% টাকা বাঁচিয়ে তা দিয়ে রাস্তা ও পানীয় জল প্রকল্পের কাজে ব্যবহার করা হবে।

৮১ লক্ষ বেকার যুবককে চাকরি দেওয়া হয়েছে।

এম এস এম ই,  ১০০ দিনের কাজে, স্কিল ট্রেনিং এ, ই টেন্ডারিং-এ বাংলা আজ এক নম্বরে। কন্যাশ্রীতে বাংলা বিশ্বের মধ্যে এক নম্বরে।

আমাদের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা আমাদের গর্ব। সকলের জন্য আমরা প্রকল্প করে দিয়েছি। মৎস্য ভ্যান, ধামসা মাদল, পাট্টা, ফুটবল, ট্র্যাক্টর সব দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

আমরা চাই মানুষ ভাল থাকুক।বাংলায় অনেক আন্তরিকতা আছে, একে আমি সম্মান জানাই।

শালবনিতে আরো অনেক শিল্প আসুক।সমগ্র জেলা জুড়ে উন্নয়নের বিপ্লব হোক।

আপনারা ছাড়া আমি শূন্য, আপনাদের নিয়েই আমি পূর্ণ। সবাইকে নিয়ে চলার নামই জীবন।আর একা চলার নাম থেমে যাওয়া।

বাংলা হবে বিশ্ব সেরা।

Under the Trinamool Congress Government, during the last six years, the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector in Bengal has seen a remarkable turnaround.

In an effort to further cement the leading position of the state, the government will showcase Metiabruz in western Kolkata as a hub for readymade garments in a big way at the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) 2018. This is expected to give a big boost to the MSME sector.

MSME and textiles have been major focus areas of Bengal in various business summits, including in BGBS. The 2018 edition of BGBS will be the fourth edition of this highly successful global business summit, initiated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

According to an official of the MSME Department, Bengal is the leader when it comes to readymade garments in the country, and Metiabruz contributes to the bulk of readymade garments across the city. However, the area is still unorganised, and so elaborate plans have been made to organise them and facilitate the traders so that they can export their produces to foreign countries.

BGBS 2018 will hold special sessions on textiles, apparel and engineering, involving the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) and Eastern India Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Federation (EIGMEF) in a big way.

মেটিয়াব্রুজকে রেডিমেড জামাকাপড়ের হাব হিসেবে তুলে ধরা হবে বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে

তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের শাসনকালে গত ৬ বছরে বাংলায় ক্ষুদ্র, মাঝারি ও কুটির শিল্পে অভাবনীয় বিকাশ হয়েছে।

এই শিল্পের উন্নয়নের ধারাকে আরও একধাপ এগিয়ে নিয়ে যেতে মেটিয়াব্রুজকে রেডিমেড জামাকাপড়ের হাব হিসেবে তুলে ধরা হবে বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে। এর ফলে ক্ষুদ্র, মাঝারি ও কুটির শিল্পে আরও বড় জোয়ার আসবে বলে অনুমান করা হচ্ছে।
বিভিন্ন বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে ক্ষুদ্র, মাঝারি ও কুটির শিল্পে জোর দেওয়া হবে এবছরও।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উদ্যোগে শুরু হওয়া বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনের চতুর্থ বর্ষ এবার।

ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্প দপ্তরের এক আধিকারিকের মতে, রেডিমেড জামাকাপড়ের ক্ষেত্রে বাংলা দেশের সেরা। তার মধ্যে মেটিয়াব্রুজে তৈরি জামাকাপড় ব্যাপক বিক্রি হয়। এই অঞ্চলের বাণিজ্য এখনও অসংগঠিত স্তরে রয়েছে। অনেক পরিকল্পনা নেওয়া হয়েছে এই অঞ্চলকে সংগঠিত করতে। যার ফলে এই জামাকাপড় বিদেশেও রপ্তানি করা যেতে পারে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated Vivek Chetana Utsab at a function held at Ganga Sagar Mela Camp, Babughat.

Vivek Chetana Utsab is being observed across the State on the occasion of 155th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

The festival is being organised in all 341 blocks, 118 municipalities, 6 corporations, Kolkata Municipal corporation, GTA, and all district headquarters of the State.

As part of the festival, padyatras will be held across the State. There will be symposiums, exhibitions, quiz, debates on Swami Vivekananda’s life. Football matches will also be organised. There will sit-and-draw competitions, along with essay-writing competitions and cultural events.

 

 

বিবেক চেতনা উৎসবের সূচনা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

 

আজ বিবেক চেতনা উৎসবের শুভ সূচনা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বাবুঘাটে গঙ্গাসাগর মেলা ক্যাম্প থেকে আজ এই উৎসবের উদ্বোধন করেন তিনি।

স্বামী বিবেকানন্দের ১৫৫ তম জন্মবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষ্যে রাজ্যব্যাপী এই উৎসবের আয়োজন করেছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের যুব কল্যাণ ও ক্রীড়া দপ্তর।

রাজ্যের ৩৪১টি ব্লক, ১১৮টি পুরসভা, ৬টি কর্পোরেশন, কলকাতা পৌর সংস্থার অধীন ১৪৪টি ওয়ার্ড এবং জিটিএ সহ রাজ্যের প্রতিটি জেলাসদরে এই উৎসব আয়োজিত হবে।

এই উৎসবে থাকবে পদযাত্রা, বিবেকানন্দের জীবন ও কর্ম বিষয়ক প্রদর্শনী, ছাত্র-যুবদের চরিত্র গঠন বিষয়ক আলোচনা, বিবেকানন্দ বিষয়ক ক্যুইজ, বিতর্ক, প্রদর্শনী ফুটবল ম্যাচ, বসে আঁকো, প্রবন্ধ রচনা সহ অন্যান্য সাংস্কৃতিক প্রতিযোগিতা ও অনুষ্ঠান।

The State Government has decided to set a tourism circuit based on the Gangasagar Mela. During the six-and-a-half years of the Trinamool Congress Government, Sagar Island has seen unprecedented development.

From Bakkhali to Bhorsagar and Rupsagar on Gangasagar Island, via Fraserganj, is one long stretch of white beaches, and casuarina and mangrove forests, a region which has a lot of potential for tourism.

Already a lot of tourists arrive on Sagar Island during Gangasagar Mela. Now the idea is to ensure that tourists arrive all through the year.

Infrastructural facilities are already being built up. Tourist cottages with all facilities have been built on the island. The road from Kochuberia to Sagar Island is being four-laned. Besides, the Kapil Muni Ashram has been renovated.

গঙ্গাসাগর ঘিরে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর পর্যটন প্যাকেজ পরিকল্পনা

শুধু তীর্থক্ষেত্র নয়, পর্যটনস্থল হিসেবেও সাগরদ্বীপকে বিশেষ অগ্রাধিকার দিতে চাইছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।
বকখালি থেকে ভায়া ফ্রেজারগঞ্জ হয়ে গঙ্গাসাগরের ভোরসাগর আর রূপসাগর পর্যন্ত সাদাবালির যে সমুদ্রতট, বালিয়াড়ি, ঝাউবন আর ম্যানগ্রোভ জঙ্গল রয়েছে, তা নিয়ে পর্যটন প্যাকেজ তৈরি করার পরিকল্পনা মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর।
গঙ্গাসাগরে চার নম্বর রাস্তার কাছে পর্যটন দপ্তরের ‘কটেজ’গুলি পরিদর্শনে যান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। পাশাপাশি, সপার্ষদ বৈঠক করেন সাগরদ্বীপের পর্যটন পরিকাঠামো নিয়ে।

To ensure uninterrupted connectivity during the Gangasagar Mela, even if there is any natural calamity, the State Government is equipping its officials with satellite phones.

Sixteen satellite phones will be given to the officers who will be on duty at critical locations. The phones will ensure communication is not jeopardized even if there is an earthquake or a tsunami, among other things.

According to senior official of the South 24 Parganas district administration, it is for the first time in the country that such technology is being used by a State Government for uninterrupted connectivity. The model, which is being tested now, is user-friendly too, with a smaller size.

Regarding connectivity, it should be mentioned that the State Government has another first to its credit too – Sagar Sanjog Scheme, for providing real-time information regarding the movement of transport facilities for people and vehicles too.

Around 60 giant LED screens will be placed at different points through which pilgrims will be updated about the timings and fare tariffs of trains, buses and ferries, tide timings, safety precautions, etc. The information will be provided in three languages – Hindi, Bengali and English – to facilitate the largest number of pilgrims.

The district administration is expecting a turnaround of 20 lakh pilgrims this year up from an estimated 15 lakh last year.

The pilgrim-carrying capacity of barges has been doubled this year by doubling the number of barges to four, which will ply from Lot 8 on the mainland to Kachuberia on Sagar Island.

For ensuring security through effective crowd management, the government has introduced a real-time monitoring system called Tirtha Sathi, using which all senior administrative and police officers can watch live footages of all the transit and other crucial points, relayed via CCTV cameras, on their mobile phones.

The administration is also laying special emphasis on beach cleaning and sanitation. The objective, said an official, is to ensure a fully clean and tidy beach.

 

সাগরমেলায় তীর্থযাত্রীদের নিরাপত্তায় এবার ১৬টি স্যাটেলাইট ফোন ব্যবহার করবে রাজ্য

তীর্থযাত্রীদের নিরাপদ ও সুষ্ঠু যাতায়াতের উপর নজরদারি চালাতে সাগরমেলার সময় এবার প্রথম হাইপ্রোফাইল স্যাটেলাইট ফোন ব্যবহারের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের চেষ্টার ফসল এই স্যাটেলাইট ফোন। তিনি চেয়েছেন, এবার মেলায় আগত তীর্থযাত্রীদের আসা ও যাওয়ার বিষয়টি সব দিক থেকে নিরাপদ করতে হবে। সেই কারণে মেলার আগে ও পরে পুরো বিষয়টির উপর নজরদারি চালাতে রাজ্য সরকার জেলা প্রশাসনকে ১৬টি (আইস্যাট) স্যাটেলাইট ফোন দিচ্ছে।
কাকদ্বীপ-লট-৮, নামখানা, বেণুবন, কচুবেড়িয়া, সাগরের সমুদ্রতট ও মেলা অফিসে দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত সিনিয়র অফিসারদের হাতে ওই ফোন দেওয়া হবে। মেলার সময় যদি কখনও টেলিযোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা পুরো ভেঙে যায়, তখন এই স্যাটেলাইট ফোন তার জায়গায় কাজ করবে।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী নিজেও কয়েকদিন আগে সাগরে এসে সব দেখে গিয়েছেন। এরমধ্যে জনস্বাস্থ্য, সেচ, পূর্ত, বিদ্যুৎ, বিএসএনএল ও বিপর্যয় মোকাবিলা, পুলিস, স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংগঠন থেকে শুরু করে প্রশাসনের সমস্ত স্তরের আধিকারিকদের নিয়ে একাধিকবার সমন্বয় কমিটির বৈঠক করা হয়েছে। সেই অনুসারে কাজ শুরু হয়ে গিয়েছে।
এবার সমুদ্রতট ও চারপাশ স্বচ্ছ রাখতে বিশেষ ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়েছে। পাশাপাশি টেলিযোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা শক্তিশালী করতে তিনটি সংস্থাকে দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে। গাড়ি ও ভেসেল ভাড়া গতবার যা ছিল তাই থাকছে।

As a result of the Safe Drive Save Life programme, initiated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the number of road accidents in the state has come down sharply.

Now, the government is taking newer measures to further reduce accidents and deaths. The work for installation of cameras at accident-prone points is being completed at a rapid pace. More traffic police personnel are being provided motorbikes so that there are no loopholes in surveillance activities on city roads and highways.

Alongside undertaking various ways – through social media, posters, awareness weeks, etc. – to make people understand the need for following traffic rules, strong actions also being taken against anyone not following rules. These measures have ensured in reducing accidents and thus making for safe travel.

Another measure related to breaking traffic rules, which has been decided to be taken by the State Police, is the issuing of electronic chalans or e-chalans in lieu of the fines paid. This would ensure the process of taking fines is resolved quickly and would also save paper.

The process would be resolved through a software loaded on to the mobile phones of the traffic police personnel. They would fill up an online form and send the chalan to the mobile number of the rule-breaker, who can then pay online as well. It has been decided to start this system in ten districts by the middle of 2018, and among them, in Howrah, Hooghly, Purba Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur, North 24 Parganas and Nadia, first. It must be mentioned here that Kolkata Police already has this measure in place.

In 2016 the number of accidents in Bengal was 13,580 and number of fatalities was 6,544. In 2017, the number came down to 11,705 accidents and 5,625 fatalities.

In December 2016, there were 1,110 accidents which led to 562 people getting injured, which in December 2017 reduced to 921 accidents and 462 injured.

The Safe Drive Save Life programme was started in Kolkata in 2016, and is now being extended across state. Its effectiveness was recently acknowledged by the Supreme Court too.

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের চালু করা ‘সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ’ প্রকল্পের জন্যই, শেষ হওয়া বছরে দুর্ঘটনায় মৃতের সংখ্যা একধাক্কায় অনেকটা নেমে গেল। শুধু তাই নয়, আহতের সংখ্যাও নেমে এসেছে অনেকটাই।

২০১৬ সালের জুলাই মাসে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ প্রকল্পের সূচনা করেন। হাইওয়ে থেকে শুরু করে বিভিন্ন রাস্তায় কীভাবে দুর্ঘটনা কমানো যায়, তা নিয়ে একাধিক সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়। বেপরোয়া যানকে বাগে আনতে বিভিন্ন জায়গায় বসানো হয় সিসিটিভি। এছাড়াও স্পিড রেডার গান কিনে তা দিয়ে নজরদারি শুরু হয় বিভিন্ন জায়গায়। পাশাপাশি হাইওয়েতে বিশেষ চেকিংয়ের ব্যবস্থাও চালু হয়। যা রাজ্য পুলিস এলাকায় এতদিন ছিলই না। নির্দিষ্ট গতির চেয়ে বেশি জোরে গাড়ি চালালে চালকদের বিরুদ্ধে মোটা অঙ্কের জরিমানা করা শুরু করে ট্রাফিক বিভাগ।

এতে একদিকে গাড়ির গতি যেমন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে, তেমনি দুর্ঘটনার সংখ্যাও ধীরে ধীরে কমতে শুরু করে। ট্রাফিক বিভাগ সূত্রে খবর, ২০১৬ সালে গোটা রাজ্যে দুর্ঘটনার সংখ্যা ছিল ১৩,৫৮০টি। যার মধ্যে মৃত্যু হয় ৬৫৪৪ জনের। সেখানে ২০১৭ ডিসেম্বর পর্যন্ত দুর্ঘটনা ঘটেছে ১১,৭০৫টি। মৃতের সংখ্যা কমে হয়েছে ৫৬২৫।

সবচেয়ে উল্লেখযোগ্য বিষয় হল, বর্ষশেষ ও বর্ষবরণের রাতে দুর্ঘটনার সংখ্যা কমে যাওয়া। ২০১৬ সালের ডিসেম্বর মাসে দুর্ঘটনায় সংখ্যা ছিল ১১১০। হতাহত ছিল ৫৬২ জন। সেখানে ২০১৭ সালে তা কমে দাঁড়িয়েছে ৯২১টি। হতাহত হন ৪৬৩ জন। ২০১৭ সালে মৃতের সংখ্যা এক হাজারের বেশি কমেছে।

চলতি বছরে দুর্ঘটনার সংখ্যা যাতে আরও কমিয়ে ফেলা যায়, সেজন্য নতুন উদ্যমে কাজ শুরু করে দিয়েছেন তাঁরা। বিভিন্ন জায়গায় সচেতনতামূলক প্রচারের পাশাপাশি আইন ভঙ্গকারীদের বিরুদ্ধে কড়া ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া শুরু হয়েছে। এরইসঙ্গে যে সমস্ত জেলায় এখনও ক্যামেরা বসানোর কাজ শেষ করা যায়নি, সেখানে তা দ্রুত সেরে ফেলার কাজ শুরু হয়েছে।
