Kanyashree, Sabuj Sathi, Sabuj Shree, Khadya Sathi and several other flagship schemes of the Bengal Government were appreciated at the United Nations on Thursday as Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra delivered an address. These schemes have already brought in immense social change and development in the State and now many foreign nations showed their interest in them.

Representatives from countries like Britain, Kenya and Argentina were extremely excited and wonder-struck as they listened to Dr Mitra. From Kanyashree which has helped in empowerment of girls to Khadya Sathi that provides rice at Rs 2/kg to 8.5 crore people – every scheme was met with appreciation at the UN.

Principal Secretary of the Department of Women and Child Development highlighted how Kanyashree scheme has brought change in the grassroots level, leading to a drop in number of child marriages and a reduction in the rate of dropout of girl students in schools.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is going to address the United Nations at The Hague today.

বাংলার সাফল্যের গল্প শুনল রাষ্ট্রসংঘ

বৃহস্পতিবার রাষ্ট্রসংঘের মঞ্চে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের ছ বছরের কার্যকলাপের সাফল্যের কথা তুলে ধরেন অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র। সরকারের উদ্যোগে কীভাবে বিনামূল্যে সকলের কাছে স্বাস্থ্য পরিষেবা পৌঁছে দেওয়া গিয়েছে, ন্যায্যমূল্যের ওষুধের দোকানের মাধ্যমে কম দামে ওষুধ কিনতে পারছেন সাধারণ মানুষ—এসবই মঞ্চে তুলে ধরেন অর্থমন্ত্রী।

রাজ্যের প্রান্তিক এলাকার মানুষ বা পিছিয়ে পড়া জনগণ যাতে অনাহারে না থাকেন, সেজন্য ২ টাকা কিলো দরে তাদের চাল দেওয়ার কর্মসূচির কথা জানান তিনি। একইসঙ্গে তুলে ধরেন ক্ষুদ্র উদ্যোগপতিদের ব্যাংক ঋণ পেতে সহযোগিতা করার কথা, কৃষকদের কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ড দেওয়ার কথা, লাল ফিতের ফাঁস আলগা করে সরকারি কর্মসূচিতে স্বচ্ছতা আনার কথা।

এইসব প্রকল্প, কর্মসূচির মাধ্যমে গরিবি দূর করতে রাজ্য সরকার কীভাবে এগিয়ে চলেছে, অর্থমন্ত্রীর প্রতিটি বয়ানে ছিল তার খতিয়ান। গরিবি দূর করার পাশাপাশি যার সঙ্গে জড়িত স্বাস্থ্যও। তাকে সমর্থন করে ভারতীয় সম্প্রদায়ের অনুষ্ঠানে মমতা বলেন, ‘গরিবরা যাতে বঞ্চিত না হন, সেদিকে রাজ্য সরকার সজাগ দৃষ্টি রাখছে। কারণ আবেগ না থাকলে বিবেকের জন্ম হয় না।’

নারী ও শিশু কল্যাণ দপ্তরের সচিব এদিন কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পের সাফল্যের কথাও জানান। এই প্রকল্প চালু হওয়ায় বাংলায় বাল্যবিবাহ, স্কুল থেকে ড্রপ আউটের বিষয় অনেক কমে গেছে। মেয়েদের উচ্চ শিক্ষার পথ আরও প্রশস্ত হয়েছে।

আজ রাষ্ট্রসংঘের মঞ্চে বক্তব্য রাখবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee urged Dutch coaches to help Bengal produce to produce world class footballers. On Tuesday while addressing a gathering organised by the Royal Netherlands Football Association in Amsterdam on Tuesday, she said there were lakhs of football enthusiasts in West Bengal. “Boys in every block play football as it is affordable. It is a game of commoners and if these boys can be given proper coaching then the standard of football can be improved,” she said.

She said the state government had given special emphasis to promoting sporting activities. “Footballs, jerseys and other sports gear are given to the players and football tournaments are held throughout the year. It is the most popular sport in West Bengal,” she maintained.

She said Kolkata would host the final of under- 17 World Cup football tournaments.” The football grounds are getting the final touches and the final will be played at Yuba Bharati Krirangan in front of 85,000 spectators. The state government is building the infrastructure to host the under 17 world cup matches. “Football is a household game in West Bengal and everywhere you go you find people playing the game. Football is our life,” she said.

She urged John Van Geigen, head of international programme for World Coaches to collaborate with the state government and impart coaching to the youngsters. “Holland has produced some football legends. If we can collaborate then surely we will be able to produce some of the finest players.”

This is for the first time when a chief minister from West Bengal has made an appeal to Dutch football organisers to coach Bengal’s budding youngsters.

 

বিশ্বমানের ফুটবলার গড়তে সাহায্য করুন বাংলাকেঃ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

নেদারল্যান্ডস রয়্যাল অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সঙ্গে এ দিন একটি মউ স্বাক্ষর করেছে রাজ্য সরকার। এই দেশের প্রথম সারির ফুটবলাররা আসবে রাজ্যের খুদে খেলোয়াড়দের প্রশিক্ষণের জন্য। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী চান, ক্রুয়েফ, খুলিত, বাস্তেন, ভ্যান পারসি, রবেন, নিস্তেলরুইদের দেশের সঙ্গে ফুটবল-যোগ গড়ে তুলতে যাতে কলকাতা থেকে খেলোয়াড়দের এখানে পাঠিয়ে প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া যায়। সে ব্যাপারে দায়িত্ব নেবে রিলাইয়েন্স গোষ্ঠী।

মউ স্বাক্ষর হওয়ার পর এদিন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “বাঙালী ফুটবল ভুলে যাবে তা কখনোও হতে পারে না। আমাদের রাজ্যে আর কিছুদিনের মধ্যে অনুর্দ্ধ ১৭ ফুটবল বিশ্বকাপ হবে। তার প্রস্তুতি আমরা ইতিমধ্যেই শুরু করে দিয়েছি। যুব ভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গনকে ঢেলে সাজানো হচ্ছে। রাজ্যের ফুটবলের উন্নয়নে নেদারল্যান্ডস আমাদের পাশে থাকলে আমরা আরও সহজে উন্নতি করতে পারব”।

ফুটবলের উন্নতিতে রাজ্য সরকার কি কি পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে এদিন তারও খতিয়ান দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। তিনি জানান, সরকার থেকে রাজ্যের প্রতিটি ব্লকে ফুটবল প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করা হচ্ছে। ক্লাবগুলিকে বল ও জার্সি দেওয়া হচ্ছে। এছাড়াও সব ধরনের সাহায্য করা হচ্ছে।

আজ নেদারল্যান্ডসে ‘দ্য হেগ ম্যারিয়ট’ হোটেলে শিল্প সম্মেলনে যোগ দেবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বৈঠকে থাকছেন বাংলার শিল্পপতিরা।  আগামী ২২ জুন রাষ্ট্রসঙ্ঘের সম্মেলন শুরু হবে। ২৩ জুন বিশ্বের অন্যান্য দেশের মন্ত্রীদের একটি সভায় বক্তৃতা দেবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statement regarding NDA’s candidate for Presidential election:

“In order to support someone, we must know the person. Candidate should be someone who will be beneficial for the country. Opposition will meet on 22nd June, then only we can announce our decision.

I am not for a moment saying that the Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind is unfit to be the President. I have spoken to 2 or 3 other Opposition leaders, they are also surprised. There are other big Dalit leaders in the country. Just because he was the leader of Dalit Morcha of BJP they have made him the candidate.

The office of President is a key post. Someone of the stature of Pranab Mukherjee, or even Sushma Swaraj or Advani ji may have been made the candidate.”

Earlier, the Chief National Spokesperson of the party, Derek O’Brien also took to Twitter to react to the news. He said: “The name was announced at the BJP Press conference. That’s how we got to know. Not even informed. How many of you logged onto Wikipedia today? I did.”

 

বিজেপির রাষ্ট্রপতি পদপ্রার্থী প্রসঙ্গে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের বিবৃতি

“শুনলাম যার নাম বলা হয়েছে উনি বিহারের রাজ্যপাল। আমি জানি না, চিনি না এবং এই নাম নিয়ে আমাদের সঙ্গে আলোচনা হয়নি। আমরা একটা consensus এরপ্রস্তাব দিয়েছিলাম।

Consensus মানে সবাই মিলে একসাথে করা। রাষ্ট্রপতি একটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ portfolio এবং সংবিধান ও দেশকে রক্ষা করা তাঁর এক নম্বর কাজ। সুতরাং আমরা ভেবেছিলাম প্রণবদার মত কাউকে করা হবে।

এটা শুনে আমি নিজেই অবাক হচ্ছি, দেশে কি আর কেউ ছিল না? আরও অনেক বড় বড় দলিত নেতা আছেন। এটা একটা political purpose. আমার মনে হয়maturity থাকলে এরকম হয় না।

কিন্তু আমি এখনই কিছু বলব না, ২২ তারিখে আমাদের একটা সর্ব দলীয় বৈঠক আছে। আমাদের সাথে নাম নিয়ে আগে কোন আলোচনা হয়নি। নাম ঘোষণা হয়েযাওয়ার পর যদি কেউ কথা বলতে চায় তাহলে আমরা বলব আমরা জানি না, চিনি না।  এটা consensus candidate বলে আমার মনে হয় না।

যারা সংবিধানকে জানে এরকম কেউ হতে পারত, প্রণবদা, আদবানি জি বা সুষমা জি হতে পারতেন। আমি বলছি না বিহারের রাজ্যপাল সংবিধান জানে না। উনি বিজেপির দলিত শাখার president ছিলেন। যাকে দেশের কাজে লাগবে, যিনি দেশটাকে ভালো চিনবেন তাকেই রাষ্ট্রপতি নির্বাচন করা উচিত”।

এর আগে, দলের জাতীয় মুখপাত্র ডেরেক ও’ব্রায়েনও টুইটারে এই খবরটি নিয়ে তাঁর প্রতিক্রিয়া জানান। তিনি বলেন, “বিজেপি সাংবাদিক সম্মেলন করে এই নাম ঘোষণা করেছে। তাই আমরা জানতে পেরেছি। আজ আপনারা কজন উইকিপিডিয়ায় লগ ইন করেছেন? আমি করেছিলাম”।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today marked the setting up of a Tourism Hub at Tiger Hill in Darjeeling. The Hub will be a boost to people of the area with more and more tourists being attracted to the place, famous for observing sunrise. Once this Hub is complete, people of the Hills living in the surrounding areas will be financially benefited, directly or indirectly.

The Bengal Government under Mamata Banerjee has provided primary focus on the tourism industry. New infrastructure has been created and as a result, the state has gain an increase in revenue through the increasing number 0f footfalls by the tourists, national and international.

The Bengal Chief Minister is on a visit to the Hills. On Monday, she held a meeting in Mirik and today she will be holding the State Cabinet meeting in the Hills for the first time.

 

পর্যটন হাব হবে টাইগার হিলে

বুধবার টাইগার হিল পরিদর্শনে যান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। সেখানে চালু হয়া প্রকল্পগুলির কাজ খতিয়ে দেখার পাশাপাশি নিজের হাতে চারাগাছও রোপণ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

এদিন তিনি ঘোষণা করেন পর্যটন হাব হবে টাইগার হিলে । এই হাবটি তৈরী হলে শুধু যে উত্তরবঙ্গ বা রাজ্যের পর্যটন শিল্পে রাজ্যের আয় বাড়বে তাই নয়, পাশাপাশি আর্থিক সচ্ছলতা পাবে মিরিকবাসি ও পাহাড়ের অন্যান্য মানুষ জন যারা প্রত্যক্ষ বা পরোক্ষ ভাবে এই পর্যটন শিল্পে জড়িত।

২০১১ সাল থেকে ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই সমগ্র পশ্চিমবঙ্গে বিশেষ করে উত্তরবঙ্গে পর্যটন শিল্পে জোর দিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। আর তার ফলস্বরূপ পশ্চিমবঙ্গে পর্যটন শিল্পের মাধ্যমে এসেছে প্রচুর রাজস্ব ও পাশাপাশি দেশী ও বিদেশী পর্যটকের সংখ্যাও এ রাজ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য ভাবে বেড়েছে। সদ্যসমাপ্ত মিরিকে পৌর নির্বাচনে বোর্ড গড়েছে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস।

ঠিক তার পরেই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মিরিকে যান পাহাড়বাসীকে অভিনন্দন জানাতে। গত সোমবার তিনি মিরিকে জনসভা করেন ও মিরিকের উন্নয়নের জন্যও বহু কর্মসূচীর কথা ঘোষণা করেন। পাশাপাশি মিরিকবাসীকে অর্থনৈতিক ভাবে উন্নত করতে  জোর দেন পর্যটন শিল্পে।

After holding administrative meetings in different districts across the State, the Bengal Government today held its first Cabinet meeting in the Hills region, in Darjeeling.

From now on, every year, four Cabinet meetings would be held outside Kolkata – two in the Hills and two in Jangalmahal

On May 29, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during a press meet in Nabanna, had said, “Every year, two Cabinet meetings will be held in the Hills and two in different districts of Jangalmahal. Therefore, both the northern and the southern districts will be covered,” she told.

“In Jangalmahal, we will hold the meetings in Birbhum, Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram and Paschim Medinipur districts.”

She met the press after the Cabinet meeting ended.

 

Salient points from the press meet:

  • Today is a historic day – the first Cabinet meeting in the Hills was held today.
  • Every year, two Cabinet meets would be held in the Hills and two in Jangalmahal. The next is in Jangalmahal.
  • A secretariat like the Uttarkanya would be built in the Hills, to be named Tenzing Norgay Bhawan.
  • From now on, all Cabinet meetings in the Hills would be held here.
  • The people of the Hills have been neglected for a long time.
  • The people of the Hills are very nice; we want development of the Hills.
  • A polytechnic college would be built in Mirik.
  • A Skill Development Centre would come up in Mirik, which would train 3,000 youths.
  • A police commissionerate is being set up in Chandannagar; this was finalised today.
  • The period for getting promotion in civil service has been decreased to every eight years.
  • We want that the people of the Hills to live well.
  • We want that Jangalmahal keeps smiling, the whole of Bengal keeps smiling.
  • Today’s Cabinet meeting was the first of the two meetings to be held in the Hills.
  • No one can stop good work from happening.
  • For 34 years nothing was done for the Hills. We should be given respect for the work we have re-started.
  • Students of the Hills can study whatever they want. Bengali has not been made compulsory.
  • The people of the Hills want that we come back again and again.

 

 

আমরা পাহাড়ের উন্নয়ন চাইঃ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

আজ পাহাড়ে মন্ত্রীসভার বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। সিদ্ধার্থশঙ্কর রায়ের আমলে ১৯৭৪ সালে দার্জিলিঙে রাজ্য মন্ত্রীসভার বৈঠক হয়েছিল। ৩৩ বছর পর আবার শৈলশহরে মন্ত্রীসভার বৈঠক হল।

গত ২৯ মে নবান্নে সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে পাহাড় ও জঙ্গলমহলে মন্ত্রীসভার বৈঠকের কথা ঘোষণা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। তিনি জানান, বছরে ২ টি বৈঠক হবে। এছাড়া জঙ্গল্মহলের বিভিন্ন জেলায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকও হবে।

আজ দুপুরে দার্জিলিঙের রাজভবনে হয় এই বৈঠক। বিভিন্ন মন্ত্রীসহ প্রশাসনিক আধিকারিকরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন এই বৈঠকে।

গত ৫ জুন উত্তরেবঙ্গ সফরে যান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। সেদিন মিরিকে একটি জনসভা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী, সেখানে বিভিন্ন সরকারী পরিষেবা তুলে দেন সাধারণ মানুষের হাতে। আগামী ৯ জুন কলকাতা ফেরার কথা মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

 

তাঁর বক্তব্যের কিছু বিষয়ঃ

  • আজ পাহাড়ে প্রথম মন্ত্রীসভার বৈঠক হল। আজকের দিনটি ঐতিহাসিক দিন
  • এখন থেকে বছরে পাহাড়ে ২টি এবং জঙ্গলমহলে ২টি বৈঠক হবে, পরবর্তী বৈঠক হবে জঙ্গলমহলে
  • উত্তরকন্যার মত পাহাড়ে নতুন সচিবালয় তৈরি হবে যার নাম হবে তেনজিং নোরগে ভবন
  • এবার থেকে এখানেই মন্ত্রী সভার বৈঠক হবে
  • দীর্ঘদিন ধরে পাহাড়ের মানুষ অবহেলিত
  • পাহাড়ের মানুষ খুব ভাল, আমরা পাহাড়ের উন্নয়ন চাই
  • মিরিকে পলিটেকনিক কলেজ তৈরী হবে
  • মিরিকে একটি স্কিল ডেভেলপমেন্ট সেন্টার তৈরী হচ্ছে যেখানে, ৩০০০ যুবক যুবতীকে প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হবে
  • চন্দননগরে পুলিশ কমিশনারেট হবে – আজকের বৈঠকে চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত হল
  • সিভিল সার্ভিস পরীক্ষায় পদন্নোতির সময়সীমা কমানো হল। এখন থেকে ৮ বছরেই পদন্নোতি হবে
  • প্রতিযোগিতা হোক উন্নয়নের মধ্যে দিয়ে, কাজের মধ্যে দিয়ে
  • আমরা কোন বিরোধ চাই না, আমরা চাই পাহাড়ের মানুষ ভালো ভাবে থাকুক
  • আমি চাই জঙ্গলমহল ভালো থাকুক, সারা বাংলা ভালো থাকুক
  • আজকের এই বৈঠক দার্জিলিঙের গর্ব
  • ভালো কাজ কেউ রুখতে পারে না
  • ৩৪ বছর কোন কাজ করেনি, আমরা যা কাজ করছি, সেজন্য ওদের তো আমাদের সম্মান করা উচিত
  • পাহাড়ের লোকজনের যা ইচ্ছে তাই নিয়ে পড়াশোনা করবে, বাংলা আবশ্যক করা হয়নি

KMC’s first blood bank coming up in south Kolkata

Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) is setting up its first blood bank – to be located in south Kolkata, at 242 Kalighat Road.

Councillors of all wards of the corporation organise blood donation camps all through the year. Now these blood units would be stored at the new blood bank, the advantage being that the units would be available at the State Government-determined rates, which are lower at those at private hospitals and blood banks.

The chemical treatments required for proper storage of the blood and blood components would be carried out at private hospitals KMC would tie up with.

This step is meant to help not only the city residents but people from all over the State, especially the poor, who cannot afford high prices.

 

দক্ষিণ কলকাতায় প্রথম ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্ক তৈরী করবে কলকাতা পুরসভা

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নির্দেশে এই প্রথম ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্ক তৈরী করতে চলেছে কলকাতা পুরসভা । দক্ষিণ কলকাতার ২৪২,কালীঘাট রোডে ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্কটি তৈরী করা হবে।

এর আগে কলকাতা পুরসভার কোনও ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্ক ছিল না। সংগৃহীত রক্ত সংরক্ষণের জন্য যে সমস্ত প্রক্রিয়াকরণের প্রয়োজন হয় তার জন্য বেসরকারি হাসপাতালের সঙ্গে যৌথভাবে এই কাজ করা হবে।

কলকাতা পুরসভার সব ওয়ার্ডের কাউন্সিলররাই প্রতি বছর বিভিন্ন সময়ে ব্লাড ডোনেশান ক্যাম্প করে থাকেন। সেই সমস্ত সংগৃহিত রক্তই জমা করা হবে পুরসভার তৈরী করা ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্কে।

এর ফলে শহরের বেসরকারী ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্কগুলিতে যে অৰ্থের বিনিময়ে রক্ত দেওয়া হয় ,তার থেকে কম দামে ,অথাৎ সরকারি দামে এখান থেকে রক্ত দেওয়া হবে।

আলো ,রাস্তা ,নিকাশি এবং জল সরবরাহ পরিষেবার মতোই ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্ক পরিষেবাও কলকাতা পুরসভার একটি বাড়তি পরিষেবা। কলকাতা পুরসভার অন্তর্গত বাসিন্দারা এর ফলে যেমন উপকৃত হবেন ,তেমনই দূর -দূরান্ত থেকে আসা মানুষজনও এর দ্বারা উপকৃত হবেন।

কলকাতায় ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্কের চাহিদা রয়েছে। গরিব, মধ্যবিত্ত মানুষদের পরিষেবা দেওয়ার মতো স্বার্থের কথা ভেবেই এই প্রথম কলকাতা পুরসভা ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্ক তৈরী করার প্রয়াস নিয়েছে।

Today is Mother’s Day. The second Sunday of May is celebrated the world over as a tribute to the mother who selflessly devotes all her life to the well-being of her child.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has conveyed her greetings through social media to all mothers.

She has also written a poem titled ‘Maa’, dedicated to all mothers.

মাতৃ দিবসে সকল মায়েদের শুভেচ্ছা জানালেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃ দিবস। প্রতি বছর মে মাসের দ্বিতীয় রবিবার মাতৃ দিবস পালিত হয়।

মাতৃ দিবস উপলক্ষে সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় সকল মায়েদের শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

এই উপলক্ষে তিনি একটি কবিতাও লিখেছেন। কবিতাটির নাম ‘মা’।

 

‘মা’

যতই দেখি ততই জানি
মা আমাদের আশ্বস্ত বাণী
অফুরন্ত মায়ের ভালোবাসা
আমাদের জোগাড় বাঁচার আশা।

মায়ের মুখ স্বর্গ সুখ,
ভুলিয়ে দেয় সকল দুখ,
মায়ের বদন মলিন হলে
সব হয়ে যায় গোলমেলে।

অসুস্থ হলে মায়ের হাত,
স্নেহভরা ভালোবাসার ছাপ
দুঃসময়ে মায়ের আঁচল,
আড়াল করে বিপদ সকল
‘মা’ যে মোদের ‘মা’,
মমত্বভরা হাসি নিয়েই অনুপ্রেরণা দাও মা।

মা যার নেই সে বড় একেলা,
ব্যাথার সময় যায় না দুঃখকে ভোলা,
মায়ের ডাক, আসল ডাক
পিছু ডাকলেও আশীর্বাদ।

মা কে যারা ভালোবাসে না,
স্নেহ কি জিনিস তারা জানে না,
মায়ের মন, সন্তানের ধন,
মা যে মোদের মা,
যতই দেখি ততই ভাবি
স্বাদ তবু মেটে না।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday instructed the police force to take immediate steps to maintain law and order, and prevent riots.

The chief minister presided over the administrative review meeting in Howrah on Friday afternoon. She asked the police to be on alert and take immediate action if anybody tries to foment communal trouble.

“The police should always remain alert and keep an eye on each and every incident. Don’t ignore any information and cross check its veracity. Use civic police, green police and local clubs to gather ground-level information. Some people from outside are trying to foment communal discord,” she said.

She asked the police to be on the road and play an effective role to maintain law and order. “Lot of false propaganda is being carried out that nothing has been done in Dhulagarh. It is absolutely false. Why don’t they tell the facts about how many people were arrested? How many people were given compensation by the government?” she said.

“A TV channel had shown a one-sided report about Dhulagarh. It did not say any word on action taken by the government, she said. The fact is that the state government is reconstructing the houses and shops affected in Dhulagarh violence in addition to payment of compensation of Rs 2.5 crore,” the CM said.

 

দাঙ্গা রুখতে পুলিসকে আরও তৎপর হওয়ার বার্তা দিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

হাওড়ায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকে সাঁকরাইলের ধূলাগড়ের অশান্তির কথা উত্থাপন করে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সাফ জানিয়ে দিয়ে গেলেন, বাংলায় তিনি কোনও দাঙ্গা, অশান্তি আর উচ্ছৃঙ্খলতা বরদাস্ত করবেন না।

তিনি বলেন, “দিল্লির একটা চ্যানেল ধুলাগড়ের ঘটনা নিয়ে যা ইচ্ছে তাই করে গেছে। সরকারের কাজগুলোর কথা তো লেখেনি। ধুলাগড়ে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত বাড়ি/দোকান গুলি পুনর্নির্মাণ করে দিচ্ছে রাজ্য সরকার। ২.৫ কোটি টাকা ক্ষতিপূরণ দেওয়া হয়েছে।”

তিনি পুলিশকে নির্দেশ দেন, অশান্তিতে যারা উসকানি দেবে, তাদের চিহ্নিত করে কঠোর ব্যবস্থা নিতে হবে। এ ব্যাপারে হাওড়া সিটি পুলিশ কমিশনারের কাছ থেকে গ্রামীণ জেলার পুলিশ সুপার সুমিত কুমারকে সাহায্য ও পরামর্শ নিতে বলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

তিনি তাঁদের বলেন, মানুষের সঙ্গে যোগসূত্র বাড়ান, ক্লাব, ভালো মানুষের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ রাখুন। এলাকায় বড় কোনও অনুষ্ঠান থাকলে আগাম ব্যবস্থা নিন। পুলিশ দেখলে গুন্ডারা যাতে ভয় পায়, সেটা করুন। কেউ দাঙ্গা বাধাতে চাইলে সে যে দলেরই হোক, তার বিরুদ্ধে সঙ্গে সঙ্গে ব্যবস্থা নিন।তিনি পুলিশকে বলেন, ঝুঁকি নিতে হবে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee chaired an administrative review meeting in Howrah today. She reveiewed the work done by the district administration so far and inaugurated several projects including Uluberia Stadium and two Krishak Bazars.

For the first time, a delegation of students from Rabindra Bharati University attended this meeting. At the end of the meeting, the CM interacted with the students. They were elated to have been made a part of such a historic meeting and thanked the CM for inviting them.

During the meeting the CM reiterated that healthcare is not a commercial service. She urged upon private hospitals to serve people with humane touch. “Service cannot be sold. There is no alternative to service,” she said.

She also asked the police to be alert. “Few goondas from outside are trying to spread communal discord. The police must maintain law and order.”

Regarding the Dhulagarh incident, she said: “State Government is reconstructing the houses/shops affected in Dhulagarh. Compensation of Rs 2.5 crore has been paid. Few channels from Delhi showed one-sided report about Dhulagarh. They did not say any word on action taken by the Government.”

The Mamata Banerjee-led State Government was the first one to start district-wise administrative review meetings, in order to get a first-hand account of the latest developmental work.

 

 

হাওড়ায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকে আমন্ত্রিত হয়ে উৎফুল্ল রবীন্দ্রভারতী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা

 

আজ হাওড়ার শরৎ সদনে প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।মুখ্যসচিব, স্বরাষ্ট্র সচিব, রাজ্য পুলিশের ডিজি সহ জেলা প্রশাশনের অধিকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন এই বৈঠকে। প্রশাসনিক কাজকর্ম নিয়ে পর্যালোচনা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

বৈঠক চলাকালীন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী স্বাস্থ্য নিয়ে আলোচনার সময় বলেন, “সেবা কখনো বিক্রি হয় না। সেবার কোন বিকল্প হয় না”।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “বাইরে থেকে কিছু গুন্ডা এসে সাম্প্রদায়িকতার নামে গণ্ডগোল করছে”। তাই এই বিষয়ে পুলিশকে নজর রাখতে নির্দেশ দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

ধুলাগড় প্রসঙ্গে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “ধুলাগড়ে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত বাড়ি/দোকান-গুলি পুনর্নির্মাণ করে দিচ্ছে রাজ্য সরকার। ২.৫ কোটি টাকা ক্ষতিপূরণ দেওয়া হয়েছে। দিল্লির একটা চ্যানেল ধুলাগড়ের ঘটনা নিয়ে যা ইচ্ছে তাই করে গেছে। সরকারের এই কাজগুলোর কথা তো তারা লেখেনি”।

ক্ষমতায় আসার পর মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পরিচালিত সরকারই প্রথম জেলায় জেলায় ব্লক স্তরে এই প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক চালু করেন। হাওড়ায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকে আমন্ত্রিত হয়ে উৎফুল্ল রবীন্দ্রভারতী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা।

West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) is now going to visit other countries to meet potential investors. The schedule till next November has already been decided.

In this endeavour, industry associations like Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Associated Chambers of Commerce of India (ASSOCHAM) are lending their expertise to WBIDS too.

The WBIDC is going to write monthly reports on the progress made and present it to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The reports would contain the progress made in drawing in investments to Bengal, including the amount of investments made.

Every month, State Government representatives would hold meetings with industry bodies and potential investors of three countries to impress on them the industry-friendly climate of Bengal and the presence of all manner of infrastructural facilities.

The schedule from May to November is as follows:

MAY: Australia (Melbourne), Portugal (Lisbon), Germany (Munich)
JUNE: Japan, Switzerland, South Africa
JULY: Bangladesh, Italy
AUGUST: Russia (Moscow), USA (Florida)
SEPTEMBER: Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand
OCTOBER: Taiwan, Ethiopia, Dubai
NOVEMBER: China (Hong Kong), Mozambique, Indonesia

It must be mentioned in this regard that trade representatives from 29 countries participated at the 2017 Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS). They have promised investments in transnational waterways, coastal zonal infrastructure, civil defence, transport, sports, heavy industry, electricity generation, non-renewable energy, food processing, health, education, information technology, urban infrastructure, hospitality, tourism and some other sectors. A total investment of Rs 2.35 lakh crore was committed.

At BGBS 2017, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whose brainchild the annual trade summit is, told business representatives from around the world, “If you invest in Bengal, you would get access to north-eastern India too. Not just that, you would be able to link up to markets in neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, China, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and other Asian countries. We have 6 lakh acres of land in industrial parks. You would also be able to tap a skilled and trained labour force; you would be able to access the best brains of Bengal”.

The industrial development that the State is seeing in recent times is the result of untiring efforts led by Mamata Banerjee over the last six years. Last year, she and her team visited Germany and met leading industrialists. Prior to that, she had visited London and Singapore. More such business visits are being lined up. Bengal is on its way to becoming one of the leading industrial states of the country.

বিনিয়োগ আনতে এবার বিদেশে প্রচার করবে বাংলা

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ শিল্প উন্নয়ন নিগম এবার বিদেশি বিনিয়োগ আনতে দেশের বাইরে প্রচারে নামতে চলেছে। বিশ্বের বাজার থেকে লগ্নি টানতে চলতি মাস থেকেই প্রচার কর্মসূচিতে নামছে। আপাতত আগামী নভেম্বর মাস পর্যন্ত কর্মসূচি ঠিক করা হয়ে গেছে শিল্পোন্নয়ন নিগমের। তবে এই কাজে শিল্পোন্নয়ন নিগম পাশে পেয়েছে একাধিক বণিক সংগঠনগুলোকে। বিদেশি লগ্নি আনতে যৌথভাবেই তারা বিশ্বের বাজারে দরবার করবে বলে দপ্তর সূত্রে খবর। এই প্রচারে ফিকি ও অ্যাসোচেমের মতো বণিক সংগঠনগুলোও রাজ্য সরকারের সঙ্গে হাত মিলিয়েছে। এই মর্মে শিল্পোন্নয়ন নিগম প্রতি মাসেই একটি রিপোর্ট তৈরি করবে। সেই রিপোর্ট জমা করবে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর কাছে। প্রত্যেক মাসের সাফল্য ও প্রস্তাবিত বিনিয়োগের পরিমাণ মূল্যায়ন করা হবে এই রিপোর্ট থেকে। এ প্রসঙ্গে ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্প, টেক্সটাইল ও বৃহৎ শিল্প দপ্তরের অতিরিক্ত প্রধান সচিব রাজীভা সিনহা বলেন, ‘প্রত্যেক মাসে আমরা অন্তত তিনটি করে দেশের বণিক সংগঠন ও শিল্প উদ্যোগীদের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করব। সেই দেশের শিল্পপতিদের বোঝানোর চেষ্টা করব, বাংলার শিল্পবান্ধব পরিবেশ ও বিনিয়োগের সবধরনের পরিকাঠামোর বিষয়গুলো।’ শিল্পোন্নয়ন দপ্তর সূত্রে খবর, চলতি মাসেই তিনটি দেশে বিনিয়োগের বার্তা নিয়ে যাওয়া হচ্ছে।

প্রসঙ্গত, ২০১৭ বিশ্ববঙ্গ শিল্প সম্মেলনে যোগ দিয়েছিল বিশ্বের ২৯টি দেশের প্রতিনিধি ও শিল্পপতিরা। অন্তর্দেশীয় জলপথ, উপকূলবর্তী এলাকায় বিনিয়োগ, অসামরিক প্রতিরক্ষা, পরিবহণ পরিকাঠামো, ক্রীড়া, ভারী শিল্প, বিদ্যুৎ শক্তি উৎপাদন, অপ্রচলিত শক্তি, খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ, স্বাস্থ্য, শিক্ষা, তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি, নগরোন্নয়ন পরিকাঠামো, আতিথেয়তা পরিকাঠামো, পর্যটন সহ একাধিক ক্ষেত্রে বিনিয়োগ নিয়ে আলোচনা হয় বাংলার শিল্প সম্মেলনে। ভারী শিল্প থেকে ক্ষুদ্র, ছোট ও মাঝারি শিল্পে বাংলার নতুন শিল্পবান্ধব পরিবেশে ইতিমধ্যে আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করে বিনিয়োগে এগিয়ে এসেছে দেশ-বিদেশের বিভিন্ন সংস্থা। সম্প্রতি মার্কিন রাষ্ট্রদূত রিচার্ড ভার্মা নবান্নে এসে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেন। শিক্ষা, স্কিল ডেভেলপমেন্ট, অচিরাচরিত শক্তি সহ একাধিক ক্ষেত্রে বিনিয়োগে আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেছে আমেরিকা।

সর্বোপরি গত বছর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের জার্মানি সফরের ফলে বাংলায় বিনিয়োগের পথ আরও প্রশস্ত হয়েছে। বিশ্ববঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন থেকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বিদেশি বিনিয়োগকারীদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেছিলেন, ‘যদি আপনারা বাংলায় বিনিয়োগ করেন তা হলে উত্তর-পূর্ব রাজ্যগুলির সঙ্গে আপনাদের যোগাযোগ আরও বেড়ে যাবে। বাংলাদেশ, নেপাল, ভুটান, চিন, থাইল্যান্ড, সিঙ্গাপুর, কুয়ালালামপুর সহ এশিয়ার একাধিক দেশের সঙ্গে আপনাদের যোগাযোগ আরও সুদৃঢ় হবে। ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্কে আমাদের ৬ হাজার একর জমি আছে। অল্প খরচে ভালো প্রশিক্ষিত শ্রমিক পাবেন। বাংলার শিক্ষিত মস্তিষ্ক পাবেন।’ মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর আবেদনে সাড়া দিয়ে চলতি বছরের বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনেই প্রস্তাবিত বিনিয়োগ এসেছে ২ লক্ষ ৩৫ হাজার কোটি টাকা। এবার আরও বেশি বিনিয়োগ আনতে বিশ্ব বাজারে লগ্নি প্রচারে নামছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ শিল্পোন্নয়ন নিগম।
