The sports infrastructure in Bengal during the last six years, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has improved significantly.

The Department of Youth Services and Sports has undertaken a lot of programmes on the education, health, employment and holistic mental and physical development of students and the youth.

 
Development of playgrounds: Financial assistance given to 331 institutions/ organisations

Setting up of multi-gyms: Financial assistance given to 2,244 institutions / organisations

Construction of mini indoor games facilities: Financial assistance given to 635 institutions/ organisations

Tournaments: Organisation of Annual Youth Festivals and Jangalmahal Cup, and financial assistance to police authorities for conducting the Sunderban Cup and Himal-Tarai Dooars Sports Festival.

Mountaineering and adventure sports: Encouraging the youth to take up mountaineering and adventure sports activities under the aegis of the West Bengal Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Foundation (WBMASF). During the last six years, 18 mountaineers from the state have conquered Mt Everest (compare this to only 4 from 1947 to May 2011). Stringent rules have been framed to select the climbers for Mt Everest and other 8000 metres above peaks. Through the department, rock climbing courses, coastal trekking, mountaineering expeditions, mountaineering courses at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) in Darjeeling, assistance to mountaineering clubs, etc. are organised. Radhanath Sikdar and Tenzing Norgay Adventure Awards and Chhanda Gayen Bravery Award have been introduced, and are given every year.

Bangla Yuba Kendra: To create a healthy socio-cultural ambience, a three-tier organisation (block-level, district-level and state-level) named Bangla Yuba Kendra has been set up to coordinate the different programmes of this department.

Budgetary allocation: The Plan Expenditure has increased by multiple times in the last six years – from Rs 5.52 crore during 2010-11 to Rs 185.3 crore during 2016-17 in the case of Youth Services and from Rs 29.29 crore during 2010-11 to Rs 237.21 crore during 2016-17 in the case of Sports.

Building of stadiums and sports complexes: Stadiums in Nayagram (Jhargram district), Salboni (Paschim Medinipur district), Memari and Bhatar (Purba Bardhaman district), Onda (Bankura district), Islampur (Uttar Dinajpur) and Uluberia (Howrah district), Archery Academy in Jhargram district, swimming pools in Baruipur and Canning (South 24 Parganas district), sports academy (including stadium) in Khatra (Bankura district), sports complexes (including stadiums) in Barrackpore and Naihati (North 24 Parganas district), and sports complex at Tala Park in Kolkata.

Renovation and modernisation of sports infrastructure: Flood lighting and renovation of the Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting grounds in Kolkata, flood lighting of Kanchenjungha Stadium in Siliguri, renovation of Lebong Stadium in Darjeeling, the indoor stadium at Rajbati Stadium Complex in Cooch Behar, Howrah Municipal Corporation Stadium, Eastern Ground in Chinsura, the swimming pool in Barijhati (both in Hooghly district) and Jhargram Stadium, upgradation and renovations of Bolpur and Suri Stadiums (Birbhum district), Ranaghat, Shantipur, Krishnagar,Kalyani and Nabadwip Stadiums (Nadia district), and Spandan Sports Ground at Kalna Aghorenath Park Stadium (Purba Bardhaman), construction of Balurghat Indoor Sports Complex (Dakshin Dinajpur district), construction and renovation of stadiums in Diamond Harbour Sports Complex and Kultali Dr BR Ambedkar College (South 24 Parganas district), renovation of Aurobindo Stadium (Purba Medinipur district), construction of Rakhal Memorial Sports Complex (Purba Medinipur district) and indoor stadium and sports hostel in Purulia and Kashipore Stadium (Purulia district), and the development of DSA Stadium, Brindabani Park and Satya Chowdhuri Indoor Stadium in Malda.

Management and monitoring of sporting activities: Management and monitoring of sporting activities in the districts to achieve the goals of district and sub-divisional sports councils.

Awards: Khel Samman to 89 present sportspersons, Banglar Gourab awards to 114 retired sportspersons, Kriraguru Sammans to 34 eminent coaches and Lifetime Achievement Awards to eight eminent sports personalities.

FIFA Under-17 World Cup: Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) has been upgraded and beautified for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup matches to be held there.

 

 

ছ’বছরে ক্রীড়াক্ষেত্রে অভূতপূর্ব উন্নতি বাংলার

২০১১ সালে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই যুগান্তকারী পরিবর্তন এসেছে বাংলার ক্রীড়ার চিত্রপটে। শুধু খেলোয়াড়দের সম্বর্ধনা দেওয়া নয়, গড়ে উঠছে খেলোয়াড় তৈরি হবার পরিকাঠামো। খুলে গেছে আরও নতুন খেলার দিক।

জেলার খেলাধুলোর পরিচালন ও নজরদারিতে যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া দপ্তর গুরুত্ব দিয়েছে এবং লক্ষ্য অর্জনে জেলা ও মহকুমা স্পোর্টস কাউন্সিলগুলিকে পুনর্গঠন ও কার্যকরী করে তুলেছে।

অতীত এবং বর্তমান কৃতী ক্রীড়া ব্যাক্তিত্বদের কৃতিত্ব অর্জনের স্বীকৃতি জানানো রাজ্যের যুব কল্যাণ এবং এবং ক্রীড়া বিভাগের পরিকল্পনায় রয়েছে। ‘খেল সম্মান’ দ্বারা ৮৯ জন বর্তমান খেলোয়াড়, ‘বাংলার গৌরব’ সম্মানে ১১৪ জন অতীত খেলোয়াড়, ‘ক্রীড়াগুরু’ সম্মানে ৩৪ জন প্রখ্যাত কোচ এবং ‘লাইফটাইম অ্যাচিভমেন্ট অ্যাওয়ার্ডে’ ৮ জন প্রখ্যাত ব্যাক্তিত্বকে এই সময়কালের ভিতর সম্মাননা জ্ঞাপন করা হয়েছে।

রাজ্যের ৮৩৬৩ ক্লাবকে যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া বিভাগ খেলাধুলা এবং স্থায়ী সম্পদের জন্য আর্থিক সহায়তা দান করেছে। রাজ্য পর্যায়ের স্পোর্টস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনগুলিকে প্রত্যেক খেলাধুলোর জন্যও ৫লক্ষ টাকা হারে আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া দপ্তর সুন্দরবন কাপ, হিমাল-তরাই ডুয়ার্স ক্রীড়া উৎসব আয়োজনের জন্যও পুলিশ কর্তৃপক্ষকে আর্থিক সহায়তা দান করেছে.

এই বছরে ফিফা অনূর্ধ্ব-১৭ বিশ্বকাপ আয়োজিত হবে বিবেকানন্দ যুবভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গনে। তাই, আন্তর্জাতিক মানের সঙ্গে সমন্বয় রেখে বিবেকানন্দ যুবভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গন এবং তার সংশ্লিষ্ট এলাকার উন্নয়ন ও সৌন্দর্যায়ণ হয়েছে। আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিযোগিতা পর্যায়ের সঙ্গে সঙ্গতি রেখে সম্পূর্ণ শ্রীবৃদ্ধিসাধন, খেলার মাঠ, আলোর ব্যবস্থা, অভ্যাসের জায়গা সহায়ক সুবিধার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে।

আর্থিক কর্মসম্পাদন যা ২০১০-১১ সালে ছিল ২৯.২৯ কোটি টাকা, তা আজ ২০১৬-১৭ সালে বেড়ে হয়েছে ২৩৭.২১ কোটি টাকা।

Bengal is going to be the ‘Focus State’ at World Food India (WFI) 2017, to be organised by the Food Processing Industries from November 3 to 5.

Bengal’s participation at WFI 2017, which will be the largest trade fair of its kind to be held so far in India, will be a golden opportunity for Bengal to showcase its potential as well as the huge success it has achieved in the food sector. It will also be a platform to highlight the state’s innovative food processing methods.

WFI 2017 will provide an opportunity for the most important stakeholder in the sector, that is the farmer, to interact and network with Indian and global leaders across the food value chain.

The state is preparing an agribusiness and food processing logistics blueprint, which will include developments like the increase in exports of mangoes and litchis by more than 40 per cent that Bengal witnessed in 2016-17.

Among the major agricultural infrastructure set up in recent times in the state are packhouses in Malda and Barasat. In the near future, a vapour heat treatment (VHT) facility in Barasat, an irradiation facility in Chinsurah and a perishable cargo complex in Bagdogra will become operational.

ওয়ার্ল্ড ফুড ইন্ডিয়া ২০১৭-র ‘ফোকাস স্টেট’ হতে চলেছে বাংলা 

খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ শিল্প বিষয়ক ওয়ার্ল্ড ফুড ইন্ডিয়া ২০১৭র ‘ফোকাস স্টেট’ হতে চলেছে বাংলা। এই অনুষ্ঠানটি হবে নভেম্বর মাসের ৩ থেকে ৫ তারিখ।

বাংলার এই অনুষ্ঠানে যোগদান খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। কারণ, এই ধরনের মেলা দেশের মধ্যে প্রথম ও সর্ববৃহৎ। খাদ্য বিষয়ে বাংলার যে অভূতপূর্ব উন্নতি হয়েছে, তা সকলের সামনে তুলে ধরার এটি সুবর্ণ সুযোগ। বাংলার খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ বিষয়ে যে উদ্ভাবনী শক্তি আছে সেটাও তুলে ধরা যাবে এখানে।

ওয়ার্ল্ড ফুড ইন্ডিয়া ২০১৭তে খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ শিল্পের সঙ্গে যেসকল গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ব্যাক্তি যুক্ত আছেন  মানে কৃষক, তাঁদের জন্যও থাকছে সুযোগ। কৃষকরা এই শিল্পের সঙ্গে যুক্ত শিল্পপতিদের সঙ্গে আলোচনা ও যোগাযোগ করারও সুযোগ পাবেন।

রাজ্য সরকার কৃষিব্যাবসা ও খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ শিল্পের মধ্যে সরবরাহ ব্যাবস্থা আরও ভালো করার নক্সা তৈরি করছে। ২০১৬-৭ সালে বাংলা আম ও লিচু রপ্তানি বাড়িয়েছে ৪০ শতাংশরও বেশী।

বারাসাত ও মালদা’র প্যাক হাউস তৈরি সাম্প্রতিক কালের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কৃষি পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নের একটি উদাহরণ। খুব শীঘ্রই বারাসাতে ভেপার ট্রিটমেন্ট, চুঁচুড়ায় জীবাণুমুক্তিকরণ ও বাগডোগরায় একটি পেরিশেবেল কার্গো কমপ্লেক্স কাজ শুরু করবে।

Kanyashree, Sabuj Sathi, Sabuj Shree, Khadya Sathi and several other flagship schemes of the Bengal Government were appreciated at the United Nations on Thursday as Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra delivered an address. These schemes have already brought in immense social change and development in the State and now many foreign nations showed their interest in them.

Representatives from countries like Britain, Kenya and Argentina were extremely excited and wonder-struck as they listened to Dr Mitra. From Kanyashree which has helped in empowerment of girls to Khadya Sathi that provides rice at Rs 2/kg to 8.5 crore people – every scheme was met with appreciation at the UN.

Principal Secretary of the Department of Women and Child Development highlighted how Kanyashree scheme has brought change in the grassroots level, leading to a drop in number of child marriages and a reduction in the rate of dropout of girl students in schools.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is going to address the United Nations at The Hague today.

বাংলার সাফল্যের গল্প শুনল রাষ্ট্রসংঘ

বৃহস্পতিবার রাষ্ট্রসংঘের মঞ্চে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের ছ বছরের কার্যকলাপের সাফল্যের কথা তুলে ধরেন অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র। সরকারের উদ্যোগে কীভাবে বিনামূল্যে সকলের কাছে স্বাস্থ্য পরিষেবা পৌঁছে দেওয়া গিয়েছে, ন্যায্যমূল্যের ওষুধের দোকানের মাধ্যমে কম দামে ওষুধ কিনতে পারছেন সাধারণ মানুষ—এসবই মঞ্চে তুলে ধরেন অর্থমন্ত্রী।

রাজ্যের প্রান্তিক এলাকার মানুষ বা পিছিয়ে পড়া জনগণ যাতে অনাহারে না থাকেন, সেজন্য ২ টাকা কিলো দরে তাদের চাল দেওয়ার কর্মসূচির কথা জানান তিনি। একইসঙ্গে তুলে ধরেন ক্ষুদ্র উদ্যোগপতিদের ব্যাংক ঋণ পেতে সহযোগিতা করার কথা, কৃষকদের কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ড দেওয়ার কথা, লাল ফিতের ফাঁস আলগা করে সরকারি কর্মসূচিতে স্বচ্ছতা আনার কথা।

এইসব প্রকল্প, কর্মসূচির মাধ্যমে গরিবি দূর করতে রাজ্য সরকার কীভাবে এগিয়ে চলেছে, অর্থমন্ত্রীর প্রতিটি বয়ানে ছিল তার খতিয়ান। গরিবি দূর করার পাশাপাশি যার সঙ্গে জড়িত স্বাস্থ্যও। তাকে সমর্থন করে ভারতীয় সম্প্রদায়ের অনুষ্ঠানে মমতা বলেন, ‘গরিবরা যাতে বঞ্চিত না হন, সেদিকে রাজ্য সরকার সজাগ দৃষ্টি রাখছে। কারণ আবেগ না থাকলে বিবেকের জন্ম হয় না।’

নারী ও শিশু কল্যাণ দপ্তরের সচিব এদিন কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পের সাফল্যের কথাও জানান। এই প্রকল্প চালু হওয়ায় বাংলায় বাল্যবিবাহ, স্কুল থেকে ড্রপ আউটের বিষয় অনেক কমে গেছে। মেয়েদের উচ্চ শিক্ষার পথ আরও প্রশস্ত হয়েছে।

আজ রাষ্ট্রসংঘের মঞ্চে বক্তব্য রাখবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee urged Dutch coaches to help Bengal produce to produce world class footballers. On Tuesday while addressing a gathering organised by the Royal Netherlands Football Association in Amsterdam on Tuesday, she said there were lakhs of football enthusiasts in West Bengal. “Boys in every block play football as it is affordable. It is a game of commoners and if these boys can be given proper coaching then the standard of football can be improved,” she said.

She said the state government had given special emphasis to promoting sporting activities. “Footballs, jerseys and other sports gear are given to the players and football tournaments are held throughout the year. It is the most popular sport in West Bengal,” she maintained.

She said Kolkata would host the final of under- 17 World Cup football tournaments.” The football grounds are getting the final touches and the final will be played at Yuba Bharati Krirangan in front of 85,000 spectators. The state government is building the infrastructure to host the under 17 world cup matches. “Football is a household game in West Bengal and everywhere you go you find people playing the game. Football is our life,” she said.

She urged John Van Geigen, head of international programme for World Coaches to collaborate with the state government and impart coaching to the youngsters. “Holland has produced some football legends. If we can collaborate then surely we will be able to produce some of the finest players.”

This is for the first time when a chief minister from West Bengal has made an appeal to Dutch football organisers to coach Bengal’s budding youngsters.

 

বিশ্বমানের ফুটবলার গড়তে সাহায্য করুন বাংলাকেঃ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

নেদারল্যান্ডস রয়্যাল অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সঙ্গে এ দিন একটি মউ স্বাক্ষর করেছে রাজ্য সরকার। এই দেশের প্রথম সারির ফুটবলাররা আসবে রাজ্যের খুদে খেলোয়াড়দের প্রশিক্ষণের জন্য। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী চান, ক্রুয়েফ, খুলিত, বাস্তেন, ভ্যান পারসি, রবেন, নিস্তেলরুইদের দেশের সঙ্গে ফুটবল-যোগ গড়ে তুলতে যাতে কলকাতা থেকে খেলোয়াড়দের এখানে পাঠিয়ে প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া যায়। সে ব্যাপারে দায়িত্ব নেবে রিলাইয়েন্স গোষ্ঠী।

মউ স্বাক্ষর হওয়ার পর এদিন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “বাঙালী ফুটবল ভুলে যাবে তা কখনোও হতে পারে না। আমাদের রাজ্যে আর কিছুদিনের মধ্যে অনুর্দ্ধ ১৭ ফুটবল বিশ্বকাপ হবে। তার প্রস্তুতি আমরা ইতিমধ্যেই শুরু করে দিয়েছি। যুব ভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গনকে ঢেলে সাজানো হচ্ছে। রাজ্যের ফুটবলের উন্নয়নে নেদারল্যান্ডস আমাদের পাশে থাকলে আমরা আরও সহজে উন্নতি করতে পারব”।

ফুটবলের উন্নতিতে রাজ্য সরকার কি কি পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে এদিন তারও খতিয়ান দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। তিনি জানান, সরকার থেকে রাজ্যের প্রতিটি ব্লকে ফুটবল প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করা হচ্ছে। ক্লাবগুলিকে বল ও জার্সি দেওয়া হচ্ছে। এছাড়াও সব ধরনের সাহায্য করা হচ্ছে।

আজ নেদারল্যান্ডসে ‘দ্য হেগ ম্যারিয়ট’ হোটেলে শিল্প সম্মেলনে যোগ দেবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বৈঠকে থাকছেন বাংলার শিল্পপতিরা।  আগামী ২২ জুন রাষ্ট্রসঙ্ঘের সম্মেলন শুরু হবে। ২৩ জুন বিশ্বের অন্যান্য দেশের মন্ত্রীদের একটি সভায় বক্তৃতা দেবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

Bengal has created a record in thalassaemia testing – 6.5 lakh people have been tested in the last four years. This data was recently revealed by the State Health Department.

There are 21 thalassaemia-testing centres in the State, where anyone can go and have themselves tested. As an encouraging sign, more and more people from all walks of life are coming forward to have themselves tested for the presence of the disease.

Basically, there are three categories of people who come for testing – couples wanting to get married, couples planning to have children and couples who already have a thalassaemia-affected child and don’t want to have another such.

Doctors also hold regular thalassaemia awareness and testing camps in schools and colleges all over the State.

There are 25,000 thalassaemia-affected people in the State.

থ্যালাসেমিয়া পরীক্ষায় এবার রেকর্ড গড়ল বাংলা। রাজ্য স্বাস্থ্য দপ্তর সূত্রে এ খবর জানা গেছে গত ৪ বছরে সাড়ে ছয় লাখের থ্যালাসেমিয়া পরীক্ষা হয়েছে বাংলায়।

কলকাতা ও জেলা মিলিয়ে বর্তমানে রাজ্যের ২১টি জায়গায় থ্যালাসেমিয়া পরীক্ষা করা হয়। সেখানে এসে বহু মানুষ থ্যালাসেমিয়া পরীক্ষা করিয়ে যাচ্ছেন।

মূলত তিন ধরনের মানুষ আসছেন। এক, বিয়ে হতে চলা দম্পতি, সন্তান গ্রহণের কথা ভাবা দম্পতি এবং একটি সন্তান থ্যালাসেমিয়া আক্রান্ত হওয়ায় দ্বিতীয়বার যাতে সে ভুল না হয়, সেকথা ভেবে সচেতন হওয়া স্বামী-স্ত্রী।

স্কুল কলেজ সহ সমগ্র রাজ্য জুড়ে সর্বস্তরে সচেতনতা বাড়াতে বিভিন্ন রকম প্রচার চালাচ্ছেন ডাক্তাররা।

বর্তমানে সরকারী হিসাব অনুযায়ী, রাজ্যে ২৫ হাজার থ্যালাসেমিয়া রোগী আছে।

The aromatic and nutritious black rice of Bengal is soon going to win over palates across the world. Plans are afoot to export this variety of rice to Japan, the Gulf countries, Europe and USA.

The plans come on the back of the huge curiosity that the variety of rice evoked at SIAL, an international food festival, touted to be the world’s largest, held last February in the epicureans’ capital, Paris.

There were a lot of eager questions to the representatives of Bengal exhibiting the rice regarding when it would be available in Europe.

The black rice taken to SIAL Paris was grown in Ausgram in Purba Bardhaman district.

The variety, though, was discovered in Phulia in Nadia district in 2008. After that, realising its potential, it was grown experimentally at a research centre of the State’s Agriculture Department. Currently, it is grown across nine districts of Bengal.

The State Government has plans to set up special processing machines for this variety of rice in all the districts it is grown in. The special processors are required because of the thin skin of this rice variety, which contains the nutritious chemicals and which, hence, cannot be removed. It is this skin too whose colour gives it its name.

It must also be mentioned in this respect that under Chief  Minister Mamata Banerjee’s special initiative, aromatic rice varieties of Bengal like gobindobhog and tulaipanji are being marketed across the country as well as internationally, and they have already garnered a lot of interest. Now black rice is going to be added to this list.

 

বিশ্বজয়ের পথে বাংলার সুগন্ধি কালো চাল

খুব শীঘ্রই বাংলার সুগন্ধি কালো চাল পৌঁছে যাবে দেশ-বিদেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানে। আরব, জাপান, ইউরোপ, আমেরিকাতেও রফতানি বাণিজ্যের ভাল সম্ভাবনা তৈরী করেছে এই কালো চাল।

এই চাল সুগন্ধি,তার সঙ্গে এর পুষ্টিগুণ প্রচুর। অ্যান্থোসায়ানিনে সমৃদ্ধ বলে তা ক্যানসার প্রতিরোধ করে, অভিমত বিশেষজ্ঞদের। সেই সঙ্গে বার্ধক্য, স্নায়ুরোগ, ডায়াবেটিস, ব্যাক্টেরিয়া সংক্রমণ ঠেকাতেও কার্যকর ওই চাল।

গত বছর প্যারিসে  ‘সিয়াল’ বা হরেক কিসিমের খাদ্যবস্তুর মেলায় গিয়েছিল পূর্ব বর্ধমানের আউশগ্রামের এই কালো চাল। পশ্চিমবঙ্গের প্রতিনিধিদের কাছে বিদেশিরা প্রশ্ন কবে থেকে ওইসব দেশে এটা নিয়মিত পাওয়া যাবে।

২০০৮ সালে কালো চাল পশ্চিমবঙ্গে প্রথম বার পাওয়া গিয়েছিল ফুলিয়ায়। ধান-গবেষকদের তত্ত্বাবধানে সেই ধান ফলানো হয়েছিল রাজ্যের কৃষি দফতরের প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্রে। ন’বছরের মধ্যে বাংলার সেই কালো চালের চাহিদা এখন সাগরপারেও!

বর্ধমানের আউশগ্রাম ছাড়া অন্য কোথাও এই বিশেষ ধান ভাঙানোর উপযুক্ত কল নেই। কালো চালের আসল উপাদান হল এর উপরে থাকা কালো রঙের পাতলা খোসা। ধান ভাঙানোর সাধারণ মেশিনে ওই খোসা উঠে যায়। প্রতিটি জেলায় একটি করে ধান ভাঙানোর বিশেষ উপযুক্ত কল বসানো হবে। এর ফলে উৎপাদন বাড়বে।

এটা অবশ্যই উল্লেখযোগ্য যে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের অনুপ্রেরণায় বাংলার বিভিন্ন সুগন্ধি চাল যেমন – গোবিন্দভোগ, তুলাইপঞ্জি ইত্যাদি চালের ব্যবসা অনেক বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে এবং তা আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারেও যথেষ্ট খ্যাতি অর্জন করেছে। এখন সেই লিস্টে যোগ হচ্ছে এই কালো চাল।

Soon, Bengal will be among the first few states to complete the rural electrification project successfully.  Come June and the project will witness completion with state Power minister Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay laying emphasis that the rural electrification work is all set to be complete as soon as infrastructure in four villages of Sunderban area gets over.

This apart, the electrification work is more or less complete throughout the state. “Infrastructural works have been going on in four islands. The work is expected to be completed by the end of June this year. The Power department has been facing hurdles in some parts as many villagers were reluctant to get an electricity connection due to financial constraints. Despite the challenges, the state government will achieve 100 percent electricity coverage by June,” the Minister added.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, after coming to the power, had asked the power department to provide electricity to the entire Sunderbans area through power grid. Banerjee had taken a pledge to electrify each and every village across the state. The state government is trying hard to resolve the issues with the involvement of local panchayat functionaries and the zilla parishads.

According to West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL), state’s nodal distribution agency, the total number of subscribers has gone up to 1.72 crore from around 88 lakh in 2011. A few years ago, the pace of electrification work in Bengal was quite slow in comparison to the other states in the country but Trinamool government has done a major revamp in infrastructure development.

 

রাজ্যে গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরনের প্রকল্পের কাজ শেষ হবে জুন মাসে

খুব শীঘ্রই গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরন প্রকল্পের কাজ সম্পন্ন করবে বাংলা। আগামী জুন মাসেই শেষ হবে সেই কাজ। যত তাড়াতাড়ি এই কাজ সম্পন্ন করা যায় তার ওপর জোর দিচ্ছেন বিদ্যু९ মন্ত্রী শোভনদেব চট্টোপাধ্যায়। সুন্দরবন অঞ্চলের চার’টি গ্রামে বিদ্যুতের পরিকাঠামো তৈরীর কাজ শেষ হলেই এই প্রকল্পের কাজ শেষ হবে।

এ ছাড়া রাজ্যের অন্যান্য জায়গাতেও এই প্রকল্পের কাজ প্রায় শেষ। মন্ত্রী জানান, “এই চার’টি জায়গায় পরিকাঠামো তৈরীর কাজ চলছে, আশা করা হচ্ছে এই বছরের জুন মাসের শেষের দিকে এই কাজ শেষ হয়ে যাবে। অর্থনৈতিক কারনে অনেক গ্রামবাসীই বিদ্যুতের ব্যাপারে আগ্রহী নন তাই বিদ্যু९ দপ্তরকে বেশ কিছু বাধার সম্মুখীন হতে হচ্ছে। তবু এত বাধা সত্ত্বেও আগামী জুনের মধ্যেই রাজ্যের ১০০ শতাংশ অঞ্চলে পৌঁছে যাবে বিদ্যু९।”

ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পরিচালিত তৃণমূল সরকার পাওয়ার গ্রিডের মাধ্যমে পুরো সুন্দরবন অঞ্চলে বিদ্যু९ পৌঁছে দিতে উদ্যোগী হয়। রাজ্য সরকার পঞ্চায়েত ও জেলা পারিষদদের সহযোগিতায় এই কাজ দ্রুতগতিতে শেষ করতে চাইছে।

রাজ্য বিদ্যুত পর্ষদের তথ্য অনুযায়ী বিদ্যু९ গ্রাহকের সংখ্যা বেড়ে এই মুহূর্তে হয়েছে প্রায় ১.৭২ কোটি যা ২০১১পর্যন্ত ছিল মাত্র ৮৮ লক্ষ। কিছু বছর আগে পর্যন্ত রাজ্যে গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরনের কাজ ছিল অন্যান্য রাজ্যের তুলনায় খুবই মন্থর  গতির। কিন্তু তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস রাজ্যের দায়িত্ব পাওয়ার পর থেকে এই পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নের কাজে এসেছে এক নতুন গতি।

The Bengal Government has set a record in the 100 Days’ Work Scheme by creating 33 per cent more man-days during financial year 2016-17, the highest increase in the country. Almost 24 crore more man-days were created during the year.

Another record was the number of women employed in the scheme, set up under MGNREGA. In the last financial year, 46.46 per cent of the workforce in Bengal comprised of women.

Enthused by this record-breaking performance, the Panchayats and Rural Development Department has set a target of 23 lakh man-days for financial year 2017-18.

Most of the workers were engaged in irrigation-related work. More people are planned to be engaged in this type of work in the next financial year.

Over the last few years, the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress Government has consistently performed well in the 100 Days’ Work Scheme and this is just the latest feather in the cap.

 

শ্রমদিবস বাড়িয়ে ১০০ দিনের কাজে ‘রেকর্ড’ গড়ল বাংলা

২০১৬-১৭ অর্থবর্ষে ৩৩ শতাংশ বেশি শ্রমদিবস তৈরী করে সারা দেশে ১০০ দিনের কাজে রেকর্ড গড়ল পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার। উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে এই অর্থবর্ষে প্রায় ২৪ কোটি শ্রমদিবস তৈরী হয়েছে৷

নারীশক্তিরও ক্ষমতায়ন হয়েছে৷ তথ্য অনুযায়ী, গ্রামের কাজে পুরনো রেকর্ড ভেঙে এবারই বিগত বছরগুলির তুলনায় সর্বাধিক মহিলা MGNREGA প্রকল্পে কাজ পেয়েছেন৷ রাজ্যে পঞ্চায়েত ভোটের আগের বছরে নারী ক্ষমতায়নের নতুন নজির এটি৷ এবার নিযুক্ত মোট কর্মীর মধ্যে ৪৬.৪৬ শতাংশই মহিলা।

রাজ্যের সাফল্যের কারণে চলতি অর্থবর্ষে লক্ষ্যমাত্রাও বাড়ানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। ২০১৭-১৮ অর্থবর্ষে ২৩ কোটি শ্রমদিবস তৈরি করার ‘টার্গেট’ রয়েছে।

মূলত সেচের কাজে এই কর্মীদের যুক্ত করা হয়েছে৷ এবার আরও মানুষকে এই কাজে যুক্ত করার পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে রাজ্য।

গত কয়েক বছর ধরে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পরিচালিত তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস ১০০ দিনের প্রকল্পের কাজের ক্ষেত্রে ভালো পারফর্ম করছে এবং এরসঙ্গে এক নতুন পালক যোগ হল তার মুকুটে।

The Bengal Government will soon export 1,000 Mega Watt (MW) electricity to various neighbouring countries including Nepal and Bhutan. Meanwhile, the capacity of the export of electricity to Bangladesh will also be increased.

The power plants in Bengal have been generating nearly around 7,000 MW of electricity every day on an average and private power plants around 11,000 MW.  During peak hours, the state needs nearly 9,000 MW a day. Bengal ranks second after Maharashtra in terms of production of electricity without the assistance of the Centre.

Bengal is among the few Indian states to have surplus power which is a major achievement as it has been viewed by many. Production of power in the State has gone up in the last few years.

 

নেপাল, ভুটানে ১০০০ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ করবে বাংলা

শীঘ্রই নেপাল ও ভুটান সহ বিভিন্ন প্রতিবেশী দেশগুলোকে ১০০০ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ করবে রাজ্য সরকার। এর পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশে বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহের পরিমাণও বৃদ্ধি করা হবে।

বাংলার সরকারী পাওয়ার প্ল্যান্ট গুলি প্রতিদিনে প্রায় ৭০০০ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদন করে এবং বেসরকারী পাওয়ার প্ল্যান্ট গুলি প্রতিদিনে প্রায় ১১০০০ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদন করে। একটি কর্মব্যস্ত দিনে প্রায় ৯০০০ মেগাওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ প্রয়োজন রাজ্যের।  কেন্দ্রের সহযোগিতা ছাড়া বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদনের ক্ষেত্রে বাংলার স্থান (দ্বিতীয়) মহারাষ্ট্রের পরেই।

ভারতবর্ষের কয়েকটি মাত্র রাজ্যের মধ্যে বাংলা একটি যেখানে পাওয়ার সারপ্লাস আছে যা নিঃসন্দেহে একটি বড় অ্যাচিভমেন্ট। গত কয়েক বছরে রাজ্যের বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদনও বেড়েছে।
