Bangla Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today laid the foundation stone of the first Hindi University in the State. The university will come up at Arupara in Howrah district.

The CM also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several other projects on the occasion. She also distributed benefits of various schemes to people from the stage.

Highlights of her speech:

Who could have thought the State Secretariat would be relocated to Howrah? We did it.

Swasthya Bhavan will be shifted to a 3 acre plot behind Nabanna soon. The work for DPR has begun.

Who could have thought, a helipad would come at Dumurjola? We have already set up 30 new helipads across the State.

New airports have come up at Malda, Balurghat, Andal and Cooch Behar. One more is coming up at Purulia.

Whenever someone from outside visits Kolkata, they say the city has progressed. This is poriborton. But a few jealous people refuse to acknowledge the change that has happened in the State.

Bangla’s Kanyashree scheme won the first prize from UN. Bangla is No. 1 in the world.

There is 50% reservation for women in local bodies. Women get maternity leave for 731 days.

We have done away with income ceiling for Kanyashree scheme. Everyone is eligible for the scholarship now.

We have distributed Sabooj Sathi cycles. 72 lakh SC/ST students have received Sikshashree scholarships. 2.12 crore minority students have also received scholarships, the highest in India.

58 lakh OBC students are now pursuing higher education. We have started Swami Vivekananda Merit scholarships for general caste students.

Before we came to power in 2011, there were only 12 universities in Bangla. We have set up 28 new universities in the last seven and half years. We laid the foundation for one more today. 10 more universities are in the pipeline.

We have done away with khajna tax and mutation fees on agricultural land.

We have waived off mutation fees on inherited land. You need not to go gazetted officers for attestations anymore. Our government has started self-attestations.

State Govt pays the full premium for crop insurance. The State Govt is funding the scheme entirely, not the Centre.

72 lakh farmer families will benefit from the Krishak Bandhu scheme.

We give financial assistance of Rs 5000 to pregnant women. We send ‘Matri Jaan’ to ferry mothers to hospitals.

Not only Bangla, people from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha also come to our State for free healthcare.

We have brought 7.5 crore people under Swasthya Sathi scheme. We are not a part of Ayushmaan Bharat scheme. It is hogwash.

We have issued the Swasthya Sathi cards in the name of women, recognising them as the head of the family. Even her parents will be eligible for insurance with that card.

Today we have laid the foundation stone for drinking water supply projects worth Rs 1488 crore. Another project worth Rs 1100 crore will be initiated tomorrow at Bankura.

Earlier people used to complain about load shedding. Those days are now history.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be handing over land rights documents (pattas) to more than 400 families residing in the forest villages of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts on September 5, during her visit to the Hills.

She will be handing over the land rights documents to about 300 families of Darjeeling district and more than 100 families from Kalimpong district.

A review meeting between the state government and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) officials was held recently in Darjeeling to work out the modalities.

In Darjeeling district, 1,509 claims were received from the Scheduled Tribe communities residing in the forest villages, along with 1,232 claims from Other Traditional Forest Dwellers.

In Kalimpong district, there were 3,376 claims from the ST community and 4,626 from other communities.

There are 59 forest villages in Darjeeling-Pulbazar block, 31 in Jorebungalow-Sukhia block, 11 in Rungli Rungliot block, 21 in Kurseong block, four in Mirik block, 21 in Kalimpong-1 block, 18 in Kalimpong-2 block and 18 in the Gorubathan block.

Rural electrification project to be complete in Bengal by June 2017

Soon, Bengal will be among the first few states to complete the rural electrification project successfully.  Come June and the project will witness completion with state Power minister Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay laying emphasis that the rural electrification work is all set to be complete as soon as infrastructure in four villages of Sunderban area gets over.

This apart, the electrification work is more or less complete throughout the state. “Infrastructural works have been going on in four islands. The work is expected to be completed by the end of June this year. The Power department has been facing hurdles in some parts as many villagers were reluctant to get an electricity connection due to financial constraints. Despite the challenges, the state government will achieve 100 percent electricity coverage by June,” the Minister added.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, after coming to the power, had asked the power department to provide electricity to the entire Sunderbans area through power grid. Banerjee had taken a pledge to electrify each and every village across the state. The state government is trying hard to resolve the issues with the involvement of local panchayat functionaries and the zilla parishads.

According to West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL), state’s nodal distribution agency, the total number of subscribers has gone up to 1.72 crore from around 88 lakh in 2011. A few years ago, the pace of electrification work in Bengal was quite slow in comparison to the other states in the country but Trinamool government has done a major revamp in infrastructure development.

 

রাজ্যে গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরনের প্রকল্পের কাজ শেষ হবে জুন মাসে

খুব শীঘ্রই গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরন প্রকল্পের কাজ সম্পন্ন করবে বাংলা। আগামী জুন মাসেই শেষ হবে সেই কাজ। যত তাড়াতাড়ি এই কাজ সম্পন্ন করা যায় তার ওপর জোর দিচ্ছেন বিদ্যু९ মন্ত্রী শোভনদেব চট্টোপাধ্যায়। সুন্দরবন অঞ্চলের চার’টি গ্রামে বিদ্যুতের পরিকাঠামো তৈরীর কাজ শেষ হলেই এই প্রকল্পের কাজ শেষ হবে।

এ ছাড়া রাজ্যের অন্যান্য জায়গাতেও এই প্রকল্পের কাজ প্রায় শেষ। মন্ত্রী জানান, “এই চার’টি জায়গায় পরিকাঠামো তৈরীর কাজ চলছে, আশা করা হচ্ছে এই বছরের জুন মাসের শেষের দিকে এই কাজ শেষ হয়ে যাবে। অর্থনৈতিক কারনে অনেক গ্রামবাসীই বিদ্যুতের ব্যাপারে আগ্রহী নন তাই বিদ্যু९ দপ্তরকে বেশ কিছু বাধার সম্মুখীন হতে হচ্ছে। তবু এত বাধা সত্ত্বেও আগামী জুনের মধ্যেই রাজ্যের ১০০ শতাংশ অঞ্চলে পৌঁছে যাবে বিদ্যু९।”

ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পরিচালিত তৃণমূল সরকার পাওয়ার গ্রিডের মাধ্যমে পুরো সুন্দরবন অঞ্চলে বিদ্যু९ পৌঁছে দিতে উদ্যোগী হয়। রাজ্য সরকার পঞ্চায়েত ও জেলা পারিষদদের সহযোগিতায় এই কাজ দ্রুতগতিতে শেষ করতে চাইছে।

রাজ্য বিদ্যুত পর্ষদের তথ্য অনুযায়ী বিদ্যু९ গ্রাহকের সংখ্যা বেড়ে এই মুহূর্তে হয়েছে প্রায় ১.৭২ কোটি যা ২০১১পর্যন্ত ছিল মাত্র ৮৮ লক্ষ। কিছু বছর আগে পর্যন্ত রাজ্যে গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরনের কাজ ছিল অন্যান্য রাজ্যের তুলনায় খুবই মন্থর  গতির। কিন্তু তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস রাজ্যের দায়িত্ব পাওয়ার পর থেকে এই পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নের কাজে এসেছে এক নতুন গতি।

Bengal Chief Minister and Chairperson of All India Trinamool Congress Mamata Banerjee today hit out against the hate and malicious political campaign on social media. She accused “one section of religious group, belonging to a political party ruling at the Centre and also in the name of their sister organizations and others (either in their real names or fictitious names – আসল নামে ও বেনামে – असली नाम या बेनाम) are distorting my views, opinions, sayings and thus misleading people with my photos through some fake accounts.”

“I strongly condemn such scandalous activities by the so-called Hindu zealots. This type of communal forces, with their political vendetta, is maligning people. They cannot fight the battle politically and also on developmental front with me. So they are launching personal attack and using hate-campaign through social media. Those are sponsored by various persons and organizations,” she added.

“Our fight will continue and let us join hands together against these hate and malicious political campaign,” the Bengal CM said.

সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় আমার বক্তব্য বিকৃত করে কুৎসা করছে বিজেপি: মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

ওড়িশায় গিয়ে বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যানার্জি বিজেপি–‌র বিরুদ্ধে তোপ দাগলেন। বুধবার পুরীর মন্দিরে তিনি পুজো দেন। মিডিয়াকে মমতা বলেন, বিজেপি পুবের দিকে তাকালে আমি দিল্লির দিকে তাকাব। ওড়িশার মাটিতে দাঁড়িয়ে মমতা বলেন, অ–‌বিজেপি শাসিত রাজ্যগুলির ওপর বিজেপি বেশি অত্যাচার করছে। আঞ্চলিক দলগুলির জোট বাঁধার প্রয়োজন। বিজেপি মনে করে, বাংলা, ওড়িশা, বিহার–‌সহ অ–‌বিজেপি শাসিত রাজ্যগুলি খারাপ। তাই তাদের ওপর যত পারো অত্যাচার করো। মমতা বলেন, কীসের ভাল বিজেপি?‌ ওরা তো দাঙ্গা লাগাতে চাইছে, সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতি নষ্ট করতে চাইছে। শান্ত বাংলাকে অশান্ত করতে চাইছে বিজেপি।

মমতা মিডিয়াকে বলেন, নারদ কাণ্ড বিজেপি–‌র চাল। নিজেদের স্বার্থে ওরা এ কাজ করছে। মমতা নিজেকে প্রকৃত হিন্দু বলে দাবি করেন। পাশাপাশি তিনি বলেন, বিজেপি হিন্দুত্বের কলঙ্ক। ওরা আমাকে ব্যক্তিগত আক্রমণ করছে। এর জবাব মানুষ দেবে।

ফেসবুকে মমতা

এদিন তাঁর নামে ভুয়ো অ্যাকাউন্ট তৈরি করে তাঁর মতামত ‌ও বক্তব্যকে বিকৃত করার অভিযোগ তুললেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা ব্যানার্জি। নিজের ফেসবুক পোস্টে মমতা জানালেন, কিছুদিন ধরে কেন্দ্রের শাসক দলের ছত্রছায়ায় ‌থাকা বিশেষ একটি ধর্মীয় গোষ্ঠীর লোকজন এভাবে তাঁকে জনসমক্ষে হেয় করার চেষ্টা চালাচ্ছে। তথাকথিত হিন্দুত্ববাদী তকমা তাদের গায়ে। আসলে তারা মৌলবাদী। রাজনৈতিক দুরভিসন্ধি নিয়ে তারা এ–‌সব কাজ করে চলেছে। রাজনৈতিকভাবে না পেরে, উন্নয়নের কর্মযজ্ঞের সামনে দাঁড়াতে না পেরে, এখন তারা সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় ব্যক্তিগত আক্রমণের রাস্তা নিয়েছে। এদের পিছনে রয়েছে কিছু ব্যক্তি আর সংগঠন। তাদের কাছ থেকে হিন্দুত্ব শেখার কিছু নেই। হিন্দুত্ব ধর্মীয় সহিষ্ণুতা শেখায়। হিন্দু ধর্ম তথাকথিত এই হিন্দুত্ববাদীদের একচেটিয়া নয়। ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতা ও গণতন্ত্রই আমাদের ঐতিহ্য। আম্বেদকরের তৈরি সংবিধান সেই রক্ষাকবচ দিয়েছে। দেশ ও দেশের মানুষের জন্য আমাদের জীবন উৎসর্গিত। ওদের ও–‌সব জঘন্য প্রচার আমাদের আঘাত করতে পারবে না। ঐক্যই আমাদের শক্তি। ওই সব গুজব বা মিথ্যা প্রচারে কান না দেওয়ার জন্যও সকলের কাছে আবেদন রেখেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
