The Bengal government is planning to increase paternity-cum-child care leave for its employees from 30 days to 45 days.

The Trinamool Congress Government was the first State Government to introduce paternity-cum-child care leave, in February 2016. It was introduced, considering that it would be of great help for the male employees to discharge their responsibilities towards their children in a better way.

All male employees of the Panchayat and other local bodies, boards, sponsored and non-government aided schools and colleges, state-aided universities and companies, corporations and undertakings are entitled to get the paternity-cum-child care leave.

Paternity leave can be taken during the birth of the child or at any time at a stretch, up to 18 years of his child’s age.

KMC to start hearse service

Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has decided to start a hearse service. It already has an ambulance service, which is quite popular.

The rate for the vehicles has been decided at Rs 150 for every two hours, which is much less than that of private services providers. After two hours, it will be charged at Rs 50 per hour.

The service will start with three vehicles. More will be added later. There will be a dedicated helpline number for accessing the service.

The State Power Department has decided to introduce an underground cable system for power supply in 77 urban townships to further augment sustainable and uninterrupted power. The total cost of the project has been estimated at Rs 4,809 crore.

According to the Power Minister, 2025 has been set as the target year for the completion of the entire project. On an average, 11 townships a year would be taken up for completion. Once the underground connections are in place, the overhead electric wires will be uninstalled.

The Department has already completed the laying of cables at Nabadwip in Nadia district and Bolpur in Birbhum.
The advantages of the underground system, according to the Power Minister, are its ability to withstand inclement weather conditions like a storms and heavy rainfall, and protection from power theft due to hooking.

Power generation has considerably increased during the Trinamool Congress Government. Thermal and hydroelectric power is being successfully augmented by solar power and biomass power. Tidal energy projects are also being explored by the Government.

 

বাংলার ৭৭টি পুরসভা অঞ্চলে ভূগর্ভস্থ তারের মাধ্যমে বিদ্যুৎ সংযোগ

রাজ্যের মানুষকে নিরবিচ্ছিন্ন বিদ্যুৎ পরিষেবা দিতে বাংলার ৭৭টি পুরসভা অঞ্চলে ভূগর্ভস্থ তারের মাধ্যমে বিদ্যুৎ সংযোগ দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য বিদ্যুৎ দপ্তর।

ইতিমধ্যেই বিদ্যুৎ দপ্তর বীরভূম জেলার বোলপুরে এবং নদীয়া জেলার নবদ্বীপে মাটির তলা দিয়ে বিদ্যুতের তার বসানোর কাজ শেষ করেছে।

বিদ্যুৎ মন্ত্রী বলেন, ২০২৫ সালের মধ্যে এই প্রকল্পের কাজ শেষ করা হবে। এই প্রকল্পের খরচ পড়বে ৪৮০৯ কোটি টাকা।

প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগের ফলে অএঙ্ক সময় ওভারহেড তার ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয় এবং এর ফলে বিদ্যুৎ সংযোগ প্রায়ই ব্যাহত হয়। ভূগর্ভস্থ তারের মাধ্যমে বিদ্যুৎ সংযোগে এই সমস্যা দূর হবে। সাথে, বিদ্যুৎ চুরির প্রবণতাও কমবে।

প্রসঙ্গত, গত ছয় বছরে রাজ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য ভাবে বেড়েছে বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদন। এবং ভবিষ্যতে যাতে এই উৎপাদন আরও বাড়ানো যায়, সেই জন্য নানা পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হয়েছে। বিকল্প শক্তি ব্যবহারেও জোর দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

To make payment of property and other municipal taxes easier, the State Government is going to launching a mobile app through which the taxes can be made. This service will be gradually rolled out for all the types of taxes paid by citizens to civic bodies.

Online mode of payment would enable people to pay their taxes from the comfort of their homes or from wherever they want.
Twenty municipalities have been identified for the pilot project. The pilot project has been named ‘Online Module/Portal and Mobile App for Payment and Other Allied Matters of Municipal Property Tax’.

The selected municipalities are: Alipurduar, Bangaon, Bankura, Bansberia, Behrampore, Bolpur, Chakdaha, Chapadani, Egra, English Bazar, Haldia, Jalpaiguri, Kamarhati, Kanchrapara, Katwa, Konnagar, Medinipur, Nalhatri, Pujali and Titagarh.

 

ঘরে বসেই এবার পুরকর জমা দেওয়া যাবে,অ্যাপ আনছে রাজ্য

সম্পত্তি সহ বিভিন্ন ধরনের পুরকর জমা নেওয়ার প্রক্রিয়া সরলীকরণ করতে অ্যাপ আনছে রাজ্য সরকার। রাজ্যের ২০টি পুরসভাতে পাইলট প্রজেক্ট হিসাবে এই অ্যাপ ও অনলাইন ওয়েব পোর্টাল চালু করা হচ্ছে। পুরদপ্তর সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, ধীরে ধীরে তা রাজ্যব্যাপী ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া হবে।

এই পোর্টাল ও অ্যাপ মারফত পুরবাসীরা সহজেই নিজেদের ইচ্ছেমতো সময়ে পুরসভার বিভিন্ন ধরনের কর মিটিয়ে দিতে পারবেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মানুষকে যেমন অধিকতর পুরপরিষেবা দিতে চাইছেন, তেমনি তাঁদের জন্য বিভিন্ন সুবিধার ব্যবস্থাও করতে চাইছেন। এই অ্যাপ ও পোর্টালের মাধ্যমে মানুষ সেই সুবিধা পাবেন।

নতুন এই পাইলট প্রকল্পের নাম দেওয়া হয়েছে অনলাইন মডিউল/পোর্টাল অ্যান্ড মোবাইল অ্যাপ ফর পেমেন্ট অ্যান্ড আদার অ্যালায়েড ম্যাটার্স অব মিউনিসিপ্যাল প্রপার্টি ট্যাক্স। পুরদপ্তরের নির্দেশিকা অনুসারে ইংলিশবাজার, জলপাইগুড়ি ও আলিপুরদুয়ার পুরসভাকে এই প্রকল্পের আওতায় আনা হয়েছে। একই সঙ্গে মুর্শিদাবাদের বহরমপুর পুরসভাও এই প্রকল্পের আওতায় এসেছে। এছাড়া নলহাটি, বোলপুর, কোন্নগর, চাঁপদানি, টিটাগড়, বনগাঁ, কাটোয়া, হলদিয়া, বাঁশবেড়িয়া, বাঁকুড়া, চাকদহ, কাঁচড়াপাড়া, মেদিনীপুর, এগরা, পূজালি, কামারহাটি পুরসভাকেও পাইলট প্রকল্পে রাখা হয়েছে।

সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে অ্যান্ড্রয়েড মোবাইল মানুষের নিত্যসঙ্গী হয়ে উঠেছে। ফলে মোবাইল অ্যাপ মারফত কর দেওয়ার পদ্ধতি চালু করা হলে তার মাধ্যমে যে কোনও জায়গা থেকে যে কোনও সময়ে পুরসভার সম্পত্তি কর মিটিয়ে দেওয়া সহজ হবে। একই কাজ পোর্টাল মারফতও করা সম্ভব।

উল্লেখ্য, রাজ্যের বিদ্যুৎ বণ্টন কোম্পানি এই ধরনের একটি পদ্ধতি ইতিমধ্যেই চালু করে রেখেছে।

The state government has developed software for data analysis to identify the level of vulnerability of vector-borne diseases in an area.

This comes at the time when the state government has also prepared an action plan to control the same.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a health review meeting in the state Assembly recently in which ministers and senior officials of all the concerned departments and civic bodies were present.

Minister of State for health, said after the meeting: “For the first time a manual State Vector-Borne Disease Control and Seasonal Influenza Plan 2018 has been released. The book contains details on proper coordination among all the concerned departments that need to work together to check the spread of such diseases.”

It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister has held several health review meetings and the state government has begun to monitor and work in tandem from January onwards to check vector-borne diseases this year. She has already held meetings in these regard with all the concerned officials and has given all the necessary directions in this connection.

Health workers are busy doing door-to-door campaigns and collecting information on the health of each and every citizen. This data will be analysed using the software to ascertain which area is more vulnerable to the outbreak of vector-borne diseases. This new concept of “dynamic monitoring” will help to reduce the number of cases of vector-borne diseases in the state.

The Bengal government has also decided to introduce nine more Elisa machines that will be in use in central laboratories. Moreover, authorities of private pathological laboratories have also been directed to inform the local civic body if they find any person suffering from vector-borne diseases.

 

মশা তাড়াতে নিয়মিত নজরদারি

ডেঙ্গি , ম্যালেরিয়ার মোকাবিলায় , মশার বংশ শেষ করতে নীল নকশা তৈরি করল স্বাস্থ্য দন্তর৷

কোথায় মশার প্রভাব বাড়ছে , কোথায় জ্বর বেশি হচ্ছে , তা নিয়ে নজরদারি চালাতে তথ্য প্রযুক্তি নির্ভর ‘ডায়নামিক মনিটরিং ’ ব্যবস্থার সাহায্য নেওয়া হবে৷ ডেঙ্গি আক্রান্ত কেউ বেসরকারি নার্সিংহোম বা হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হলে অথবা কোনও বেসরকারি পরীক্ষাগারে রক্তের নমুনায় ডেঙ্গির জীবাণু মিললেই মনিটরিং ব্যবস্থার মাধ্যমে সে খবর পাবে স্বাস্থ্য দন্তর৷

মনিটরিং বা নজরদারি হবে কী ভাবে?

রাজ্য সরকারের সিদ্ধান্ত , এবার থেকে পুরসভা ও পঞ্চায়েতের স্বাস্থ্য কর্মীরা ১৫ দিন অন্তর অন্তত পাঁচবার বাড়ি বাড়ি গিয়ে খোঁজ নেবেন — মশার উৎপাত সেখানে কতটা, জ্বর বা অন্য অসুখে বাড়ির কেউ ভুগছেন কি না ইত্যাদি৷ ফিরে এসে সেই তথ্যই রিপোর্টের আকারে জমা দেবেন তাঁরা৷

সংশ্লিষ্ট পুরসভা বা পঞ্চায়েত সফটওয়্যারে সেই ডাটা এন্ট্রি করবে৷ যার মাধ্যমে জেলাশাসক ও স্বাস্থ্য দন্তরের কর্তারা অফিসে বসেই কেন্দ্রীয় ভাবে নজরদারি চালাতে পারবেন৷ ফলে কোনও এলাকায় মশা বাহিত রোগ বাড়লে , তখনই তা চিহ্নিত করে ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া সম্ভব হবে৷

এর জন্য প্রত্যেক জেলাশাসকের নেতৃত্বে একটি করে মনিটরিং সেল গঠন হয়েছে৷ এই সেলে থাকছেন জেলার সিএমওএইচ, জনস্বাস্থ্য কারিগরি, পূর্ত, পঞ্চায়েত ও পুরসভার প্রতিনিধিরা৷

নতুন ন’টি পুরসভায় ডেঙ্গি চিহ্নিতকরণে অ্যালাইজা টেস্টের ব্যবস্থাও করা হচ্ছে৷ এই পুরসভাগুলি হল — খড়দহ , কাঁচরাপাড়া , নৈহাটি , বাঁবেড়িয়া , বৈদ্যবাটি , ডোমকল , ধুলিয়ান , ওল্ড মালদহ ও শিলিগুড়ি৷ বর্তমানে কলকাতা -সহ আরও ৩২টি জায়গায় ডেঙ্গি নির্ধারণের জন্য সরকারি পরীক্ষাগারে রক্ত পরীক্ষার সুযোগ আছে৷

বিধানসভা ভবনে ডেঙ্গি মোকাবিলায় ডাকা এক উচ্চ -পর্যায়ের বৈঠকে গোটা নকশাটি প্রকাশ করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়৷ স্বাস্থ্য দপ্তরের আধিকারিকদের উদ্দেশ্যে তিনি বলেন , ‘ডেঙ্গি সহ মশা -বাহিত রোগ নিয়ে আরও গবেষণা প্রয়োজন৷ কারণ প্রতিদিনই মশার চরিত্র বদল হচ্ছে৷ আগে ডেং ১ ও ৩ জাতীয় জীবাণু পাওয়া যেত৷ এখন ডেং ২ ও ৪ জাতীয় ভাইরাসও পাওয়া যাচ্ছে৷ এদের মারণ ক্ষমতা অনেক বেশি৷’

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated Vivek Chetana Utsab at a function held at Ganga Sagar Mela Camp, Babughat.

Vivek Chetana Utsab is being observed across the State on the occasion of 155th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

The festival is being organised in all 341 blocks, 118 municipalities, 6 corporations, Kolkata Municipal corporation, GTA, and all district headquarters of the State.

As part of the festival, padyatras will be held across the State. There will be symposiums, exhibitions, quiz, debates on Swami Vivekananda’s life. Football matches will also be organised. There will sit-and-draw competitions, along with essay-writing competitions and cultural events.

 

 

বিবেক চেতনা উৎসবের সূচনা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

 

আজ বিবেক চেতনা উৎসবের শুভ সূচনা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বাবুঘাটে গঙ্গাসাগর মেলা ক্যাম্প থেকে আজ এই উৎসবের উদ্বোধন করেন তিনি।

স্বামী বিবেকানন্দের ১৫৫ তম জন্মবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষ্যে রাজ্যব্যাপী এই উৎসবের আয়োজন করেছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের যুব কল্যাণ ও ক্রীড়া দপ্তর।

রাজ্যের ৩৪১টি ব্লক, ১১৮টি পুরসভা, ৬টি কর্পোরেশন, কলকাতা পৌর সংস্থার অধীন ১৪৪টি ওয়ার্ড এবং জিটিএ সহ রাজ্যের প্রতিটি জেলাসদরে এই উৎসব আয়োজিত হবে।

এই উৎসবে থাকবে পদযাত্রা, বিবেকানন্দের জীবন ও কর্ম বিষয়ক প্রদর্শনী, ছাত্র-যুবদের চরিত্র গঠন বিষয়ক আলোচনা, বিবেকানন্দ বিষয়ক ক্যুইজ, বিতর্ক, প্রদর্শনী ফুটবল ম্যাচ, বসে আঁকো, প্রবন্ধ রচনা সহ অন্যান্য সাংস্কৃতিক প্রতিযোগিতা ও অনুষ্ঠান।

To accommodate people who come to Kolkata for various purposes but are too poor to put up in hotels or hire a place to stay, many of whom come to earn a living, and some for purposes like medical treatment, etc., as well as vagabonds and pavement and slum dwellers, the State Government and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) run night shelters.

Now, KMC has decided to build more such shelters. So the civic body is holding talks with various government organisations like Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA), Kolkata Improvement Trust (KIT), Hooghly River Bridge Commissioners (HRBC), Port Trust and the Railways to request them to hand over some of the extra vacant land plots they have. It is already preparing a detailed project report (DPR) to set up a night shelter on Mahatma Gandhi Road in ward 122

At present, Kolkata has 40 night shelters, of which 35 have been set up by the State Government and five by the KMC. These five are located in Chetla, Bhowanipore, Galiff Street, Gauribari Lane and Raja Manindra Road, and can accommodate around 2,500 people on a daily basis.

শহরে নাইট শেল্টারের জন্য জমির সন্ধান পুরসভার

 

রুটি-রুজির টানে রাতের শহরে থেকে যেতে হয় অনেককেই। এমন বহু মানুষ ফুটপাতে বা রাস্তার একধারে রাত কাটাতে বাধ্য হন। কলকাতায় এরকম মানুষজনের থাকার জন্য হিসেব অনুযায়ী প্রায় ৪৫টি নাইট শেল্টার থাকার কথা।

এখন শহরে রাজ্য সরকার ও পুরসভার ৪০টি নাইট শেল্টার রয়েছে। শহরে নাইট শেল্টারের জন্য জমির সন্ধান চালাচ্ছে পুরসভা। জমি দেখা চূড়ান্ত হয়ে গেলেই শুরু হবে কাজ।

শীঘ্রই কমপক্ষে আরও দু’টি নাইট শেল্টার তৈরির কাজে পুরসভা হাত দেবে বলে জানা গিয়েছে। বর্তমানে শহরে কলকাতা পুরসভার তৈরি পাঁচটি এবং রাজ্য সরকারের তৈরি প্রায় ৩৫টি নাইট শেল্টার রয়েছে।

For the first time, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) is going to open a day-care school for girls.

The primary reason for opening this school is to take better care of the children from low-income families, where both the parents have to go out to work every day, and who make up the greater number of children attending the KMC-run schools.

The school is being built on Kashiswar Chatterjee Lane in Cossipore, which falls within ward number 1. It will start at 8 AM and get over at 5 PM. Besides studies, the school will also take care that the children get adequate time to play, get meals, etc.

KMC has plans to start similar schools in south and central Kolkata, Behala, Jadavpur and other areas.

মেয়েদের জন্য এই প্রথম ডে-কেয়ার স্কুল খুলছে পুরসভা

মেয়েদের জন্য এই প্রথম একটি ডে কেয়ার স্কুল খুলছে কলকাতা পুরসভা। প্রতিদিন এই স্কুল খুলবে সকাল ৮টায়। অভিভাবকরা প্রথম শ্রেণী থেকে পঞ্চম শ্রেণী পর্যন্ত ছাত্রীদের সকালেই স্কুলে পাঠাতে পারবেন। ছুটি হবে বিকেল ৫টায়।

এই সময়ের মধ্যে পড়াশুনো তো বটেই, সেইসঙ্গে খাওয়া-দাওয়া, খেলাধুলো ইত্যাদি শিশুর বিকাশের জন্য যা যা প্রয়োজন, তার সব ব্যবস্থাই থাকবে। কলকাতা পুরসভার ১ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডের ৪/১এ, কাশীশ্বর চ্যাটার্জি লেনে পুরসভার এই বিদ্যালয়টি গড়ে উঠছে। এলাকা চিহ্নিত করে পাঁচিল দেওয়ার কাজ শেষ হয়েছে। শীঘ্রই শুরু হবে বিদ্যালয়ের ভবন তৈরির কাজ।

পুরসভার বিদ্যালয়গুলিতে সাধারণত শহরের অর্থনৈতিকভাবে পিছিয়ে পড়া পরিবারের ছেলেমেয়েরা পড়তে আসে। তাদের অনেকের ক্ষেত্রেই দেখা যায়, সকাল থেকে বাবা-মা রুজির টানে বেরিয়ে পড়েছেন। ফলে সেই সময়টায় শিশুর দেখভালের কেউ থাকে না। সুযোগ দিতে পারলে এরকম অনেক স্কুলবিমুখ শিশুকে পড়াশুনোয় আগ্রহী করে তোলা যেতে পারে।

পুরসভার এই উদ্যোগ যদি সাফল্য পায়, তাহলে দক্ষিণ কলকাতা, মধ্য কলকাতা এবং বেহালা, যাদবপুরের মতো সংযুক্ত পুর-এলাকাতেও এই ধরনের ডে কেয়ার স্কুল গড়ার কথা ভাববে পুরসভা।

State Finance and Industry Minister Amit Mitra on Tuesday alleged that the Centre has not released any fund for the flood-like situation in the state.

“The state had demanded Rs 6,068 crore but the Centre has not made any financial assistance for undertaking flood relief work. The state alone had spent Rs 772.6 crore from the State Disaster Relief Fund but the National Disaster Relief Fund has not allocated a penny,” Dr Mitra said.

The state Finance minister also hit out at the centre alleging that sending a team from Delhi to the districts having flood-like situation was a mere eyewash.

Dr Mitra reiterated that a total of 254 blocks, 51 municipalities, 1,691 gram panchayats and 15,702 villagers received the state’s aid. “This is testimony to the fact that there has been no discrimination was made on political grounds,” he added.

Two other ministers also raised their voices against the Centre for ignoring the state by not responding to the demands of their respective departments at the state Assembly’s question answer session.

State Law Minister was vocal against stoppage of matching grants for the Centre in the last few years that has posed a hindrance in the setting up of court buildings. State Consumer Affairs and Self Help Group Minister was vocal against the non co-operation of the banks in providing loans to the SHGs.

 

বন্যাত্রাণে এক টাকাও দেয়নি কেন্দ্র, বিধানসভায় সরব অমিত মিত্র 

বন্যাত্রাণে ৬০৬৮ কোটি টাকা কেন্দ্রের কাছে চাওয়া হয়েছিল। কিন্তু ‘ন্যাশনাল ডিজাস্টার রেসপন্স ফান্ড’ থেকে এক টাকাও মেলেনি। কেন্দ্রীয় পর্যবেক্ষক দল রাজ্যে এসেছে। চারদিন ধরে ঘুরে বেড়িয়েছে। ওই পর্যন্তই। পুরোটাই ভেল্কি! কোনও উত্তর কেন্দ্রের তরফে রাজ্যকে দেওয়া হয়েনি। মঙ্গলবার বিধানসভায় ফের কেন্দ্রের বঞ্চনা নিয়ে সরব হলেন অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র।

তিনি জানিয়ে দিলেন, “কেন্দ্র না দিলেও, ওই খাতে রাজ্য ইতিমধ্যিই ৭৮২ কোটি টাকা খরচ করে ফেলেছে।”

এদিন অমিতবাবু ব্লক, পুরসভা ও পঞ্চায়েত ধরে অর্থ খরচের ব্যাখ্যা দেন।বলেন “২৪৫ টি ব্লক, ৫১ টি পুরসভা, ১৬৯৮ টি গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতকে এই ত্রাণ দেওয়া হয়েছে। প্রায় ১৬ হাজার গ্রামের ৮৪ লক্ষ মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছেন। বন্যায় অনেক বাড়ি ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ হয়েছিল। আমরা ৪ লক্ষ ৯৭ হাজার ৩৬২ টি বাড়ি সংস্কারের জন্য অর্থ দিয়েছি। ৭ লক্ষ ১৯ হাজার ৫২৪ টি ত্রাণশিবির করা হয়েছে।”

তৃণমূলের বঙ্কিমচন্দ্র হাজরার প্রশ্নের উত্তরে অমিতবাবু এদিন এই তথ্য তুলে ধরেন। তিনি স্পষ্ট বলেন, “রাজ্যের সঙ্গে প্রতারণা করেছে কেন্দ্র।”

Satisfied with the all-round development work by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) in the city, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will be providing a grant of Rs 14 crore for traffic and safety management.

Kolkata Mayor expressed optimism that the safety and security aspects in Kolkata would witness a sea change, as the city police will be utilising the funds to bring every nook and corner under CCTV surveillance.

It has been planned that the CCTVs installed in the city will be wi-fi enabled and connected with the central server at the police headquarters in Lalbazar. This will help in curbing untoward incidents and also in enhancing the quality of traffic management in the city.

With the money now available from ADB, the KMC along with Kolkata Police will be able to fast track their project of Security Safety App.

Once implemented, a person within the wi-fi enabled area can directly send videos or stills from a problematic area through this app which can be seen at the control room. This will help us to see the real time situation on our own and we will be able to plan quickly the strength that needs to be deployed in that area. Petty crimes like snatching often take place in the lanes and bylanes of the city. The police will be able to put a leash on such activities if CCTVs are installed in strategic locations.

 

ভালো কাজের ইনাম পেয়ে শহরের নিরাপত্তা ঢেলে সাজাবে পুরসভা

এশিয়ান ডেভেলপমেন্ট ব্যাঙ্ক-এর টাকায় শহরের নিরাপত্তা নতুন করে সাজতে চলেছে, জানালেন মেয়র।

মেয়র বলেন, “এডিবি’র টাকায় শহরের একাধিক কাজ হচ্ছে। সেই কাজ নিয়ে উচ্ছ্বসিত এডিবি প্রতিনিধি দল। তাইতাদের সিটি সেফটি অ্যাপ প্রকল্পের আওতায় কলকাতাকে অনুদান দেওয়ার কথা জানিয়েছে। প্রাথমিক পর্যায়ে দুই মিলিয়ন ডলার(প্রায় ১৪ কোটি) টাকা দেবেন তারা। কলকাতা পুলিশ কমিশনারকে দ্রুত ডিপিআর জমা দেওয়ার জন্য বলেছি। ডিপিআর জমা দিলেইএই প্রকল্পকে বাস্তবায়িত করা হবে। এতে একদিকে যেমন শহরের নিরাপত্তা সুনিশ্চিত হবে তেমনই ট্রাফিক ম্যানেজমেন্টেরকাজ করা যাবে। একটি অ্যাপও তৈরি করা হবে।”

পুরসভা সূত্রে খবর, সিটি সেফটি এই প্রকল্পের আওতায় শহরের রাজপথ থেকে অলিগলিতে বসানো হবে কয়েক হাজার সিসিটিভি।যার মাধ্যমে শহরের যে কোনও অপরাধের ছবি পৌঁছে যাবে লালবাজার কন্ট্রোল রুমে। একইসঙ্গে শহরের যান নিয়ন্ত্রণও অনেকসহজ হবে পুলিশের পক্ষে।

এডিবি’র টাকায় এবার সেই পরিষেবা যদি শহরে করা যায় তাহলে প্রতিমুহূর্তের ‘ওয়াইফাই এনাবেল’ সিসিটিভি থেকেঅপরাধের ‘লাইভ ফুটেজ’ পৌঁছে যাবে লালবাজারে।
