The Health Ministry of Bengal Government is going to set up a state-of-the-art sports medicine department. It will be the first such centre in the state, either in the public or the private sector.

This will be crucial for the treatment and rehabilitation of sportspersons in the state. At a time when the city is attracting a lot of attention as a host for important national and international sporting events, after the successful hosting of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup last October, this is of crucial importance.

This type of specialty centre will have experts in physical medicine, orthopaedics, neurology, etc. to assess the physiological system of an athlete.

 

এসএসকেএমে শুরু হবে মডার্ন স্পোর্টস মেডিসিন বিভাগ

রাজ্য স্বাস্থ্য দপ্তর একটি অত্যাধুনিক স্পোর্টস মেডিসিন বিভাগ চালু করতে চলেছে। রাজ্যে এই প্রথম এরকম একটি বিভাগ তৈরী হবে।

এই কেন্দ্রগুলি খেলোয়াড়দের চিকিৎসা ও পুনর্বাসনে খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করবে। অক্টোবর মাসে ফিফার অনূর্ধ্ব ১৭ ফুটবল বিশ্বকাপ রাজ্যে অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়ার পর, রাজ্যে এই কেন্দ্র খোলা খুবই উল্লেখযোগ্য।

এই ধরনের কেন্দ্রগুলিতে ফিজিক্যাল মেডিসিন, অর্থোপেডিক ও নিউরোলজির বিশেষজ্ঞেরা থাকবেন। এর ফলে খেলোয়াড়দের শারীরিক অবস্থার খুঁটিনাটি সহজেই নির্ণয় করা যাবে।
