Thank you for giving me the opportunity. While talking about the sanctioning of new AIIMS in several States in our country I would like to intimate this august gathering that unlike at the AIIMS in Delhi, the situation of AIIMS in different places are in a bad shape.
As the AIIMS are not under the purview of Medical Council of India, the regulatory body of the other medical colleges, several irregularities have been noticed at AIIMS. For example, you will be surprised to know that Rishikesh AIIMS is running a postgraduate degree course in forensic medicine without having the facility of autopsy, which is simply unbelievable.
My humble question to our Hon. Minister is, will our Government think about bringing AIIMS under the purview of Medical Council of India for proper regulation?
