Kalyan Banerjee speaks on Motion to suspend Question Hour

Sir, we appreciate that in the present prevailing situation, Parliament has commenced and it will continue for 18 days. But we should remember at the same time, the Question Hour is also an integral part of the basic structure of the parliamentary procedure. We cannot destroy that part.
Sir, today if the Government is posing pressure for passing Bills, we also want to express our views. This is the only time we get answers from the honourable Ministers. Therefore, kindly do not take away this advantage of ours. It will really take away the entire glamour, 50 per cent glamour, of the running of Parliament. People also want answers from the Ministers. They wait for this, they want to see this. That right of ours is being taken away.
