Aparupa Poddar speaks on the Demands for Grants for Ministry of Railways

Thank you Hon’ble Speaker Sir, for allowing me to speak. I thank my party, who had given me an opportunity to speak in this August House. Indian Railways plays a significant role in the development and growth of industry. In Indian Railways, we have faced many problems, which we need to tell here. The frequency of train accidents is increasing very fast, this has raised serious doubts in the public mind about the safety of the railways. The reason of the increasing number of rail accidents, there is over gauged tracks, wagon, coaches, bridges, signaling system.
The Khanna Railway Safety Measure Committee reports nearly 30 percent of total railway tracks in India is over gauged and is due for replacements. The Khanna Committee has further reported 76 percent of railway accidents are due to derailments, seven percent due to pollution, 16 percent is due to level crossing.
Many social commitments are also there in Railway and which have to be noticed in the August House. Addhyaksh Mahoday, humare Paschim Bangal se jo super-fast trains chodti hain Howrah se, ya chahe Sealdah se ho, jo UP, Bihar hote hue Delhi pahuchte hain, un super-fast trains mein 30 saal pehle bhi general coach hua karta tha ek samne mein, ek peeche mein, ek ladies ke liye aur ek general ke liye. Kis buri tarah se woh log itne dur safar karte hain hum Mananiya Rail Mantri – dono Rail Minister hain yahan pe, Cabinet Minister hain, MoS hain – ko aapke madhyam se main avgat karwana chahti hoon. Yeh cheez who log dhyan mein rakkhe ki kis tarah insaan janwar se bhi battar tarike se itna dur travel karte hain.
Jab ye sarkar ‘Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas’ aur ‘Sab Ka Viswas’ leke aaye hai, ye mandate leke, kya yeh sarkar in sadharan public ke liye koi intezam kya yeh sarkar karna chahenge bhi? Main Mantri Ji se agraha karungi is cheez ko notice mein laiye.
There are many other problems, like lack of passenger facilities, including cleanliness, in railway stations, lack of security arrangements at railway stations. Late running of trains and food served by IRCTC are the main problems the common people face and the quality is also very low.
There are many problems in West Bengal regarding the metro rail, which is maintained by Indian Railways. New coaches have to be added and basic amenities for common passengers have to be included.
At present, unemployment is a big issue in the country, you must accept that. At present there are 60,464 post vacant in loco pilots, in 50 categories there are 1,22,736 vacancies and railways are sanctioning around 16% vacancy positions. So, kindly take serious note of it.
Aur sangsay ki bishay hai, aur hum jante hai ki Piyushji ko humne ekbar kahaa tha ki hamare Bonhooghly station ke GM, aap thora dhyan dijiye. Unhone Rail Mantralay ko 2018 mein kahaa, uske baad aur kuch kaam hua nahi. Aur ek problem jo hai, 7000 post RPF mein vacant hai, yeh bhi aap dhyan dijiye.
Humare Paschim Bangal mein sansadiya kshetra hain Arambag. Abhi jo Mukhyamantri hain, woh us time mein Rail Mantri thi. Unhone rail aam jaanta ko pahuchaya. Is se pahale joh Bangal ke naye chune huye Sansad hain, woh Sadan ko galat information de rahe the ki Arambag ka rail shuru nahin hua hain. Main unhe bataana chahti hoon, Arambag tak nahi, Goghat tak pahunch gaya hain. Aur mein unko aamantran dena chahti hoon, woh Goghat aaye aur Kamarpurur Ramkrishna Paramhansa ji ke janmasthal pahuche. Aur kya development hua hain, apne aankhon se dekhen.
Hum chahte hain ki humare railway station ko model railway station kiya jai, Tarakeshwar aur Kamakundu; allocate funds for stations in Balandi. New construction of railway lines between Arambagh and Gaichandi, Burdwan projects. I want a speedy work to be done in Tarakwashwar-Bishnupur railway projects, halt station in Purshura.
Izzat monthly, joh hum BPL familes ko dete hain, woh hum nahin de pa rahein hai. Hum fir se nivedan karte hain sarkar se ki woh Izzat monthly dena chalu karein.
Need to construct lines from Belgachhia to Chapadanga, it has been a long demand from the people of Tarakeshwar. Need to construct level crossing or underpass at Chandarpur Railway station in Haripal in my constituency. Need all new coaches in all incoming and outgoing trains in West Bengal.
Joka-BBD Bagh metro rail has not been allocated funds; I want to know for the Hon’ble minister why this discrimination has been done. Need to conduct special recruitment drive to fill up the vacancies for SC/ST and OBCs.
I want to urge the minister to act proactively, so that all financial and physical targets are met. Thank you, Sir.
