Will not tolerate indiscipline in Govt hospitals: Bengal CM
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday categorically said that the government will not tolerate any indiscipline and high handedness by the junior doctors and asked the senior medical practitioners to teach them the ‘basic ethics of medical practice’.
She was paying a surprise visit to the SSKM hospital to take a stock of the situation there, on her way to Nabanna.
“The junior doctors must be taught how to behave soberly with the people and maintain their cool while treating patients at the hospital,” Chief Minister told hospital authorities.
The Chief Minister asked the hospital authorities to ensure the basic health facilities to the patients.

মঙ্গলবার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন সরকার জুনিয়র ডাক্তারদের কোনরকম অনিয়ম এবং বিশৃঙ্খলা সহ্য করবে না। কী করে রোগীর পরিবারকে সামলাতে হবে তা জুনিয়রদের শেখানো উচিত সিনিয়র চিকি९সকদের।
এদিন নবান্ন যাওয়ার পথে আচমকা এস এস কে এমের পরিস্থিতি পরিদর্শনে যান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “জুনিয়র ডাক্তারদের মানুষের সঙ্গে ভালোভাবে আচরণ করা উচিত এবং তাদের মাথা ঠাণ্ডা রাখতে হবে। হাসপাতালে রোগীদের চিকি९সা করার সময় মানুষজনকে ভালোভাবে বোঝাতে হবে, তাদের সঙ্গে ভালো ব্যবহার করতে হবে”।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী রোগীদের প্রাথমিক চিকি९সা পরিষেবা নিশ্চিত করার জন্যও হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষকে নির্দেশ দেন।
