WB govt develops infrastructure for setting up small-scale industries in Murshidabad

The West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (WBSIDCL) has developed infrastructure for setting up small-scale industries at Rejinagar area in Murshidabad district. The WBSIDCL officials today declared that its industrial estate at Rejinagar is now ready with 318 plots for distribution among small entrepreneurs who will have to apply for the plots to be given on lease for a term of 99 years.

Three plots of land have been leased out to three concerns – West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, Murshidabad Jute Park and Jute Corporation of India.

The rest 318 plots of land account for 187.30 acres, lying vacant with ready resources like internal roads, water supply, electricity, drainage, guard walls and others.

The plots can be used for setting up plants manufacturing plastic products, handicraft manufacturing workshops, rice-mills or similar clusters of small industries, said the Managing Director of DIC. The administrative officials today held a meeting with entrepreneurs to circulate necessary information on the prospect of industrial growth at Rejinagar industrial estate. Around 53 traders and small entrepreneurs attended the meeting.

The proposed leaseholders will have to pay the price of Rs 1.5 lakhs for each cottah for lease of 99 years’ term. Bank loans will be easily available to the leaseholders.
