WB CM to inaugurate Jalpaiguri Sports Village today
Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee is currently in Jalpaiguri for the north Bengal leg of her district tours. She has already conducted over 75 such district visits in the last three years.
She will inaugurate 17 projects at Jalpaiguri today and lay the foundation stones for 16 others. These include inauguration of the first phase of the Sports Village in Jalpaiguri, bridges, roads, piped water supply projects among other things.
The first phase of the sports village in Jalpaiguri consists of an indoor stadium with facilities for gymnasium, basketball, table tennis, snooker and badminton.
There is a separate squash court and a swimming pool of international standards. The galleries have been renovated too.
In the second phase, a football stadium and an athletic track will be set up.
