Five things Mamata Banerjee said at the West Bengal Assembly
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the Opposition in the State Assembly for creating ruckus in the House and disrupting the course of business.
As the leader of the ruling party in the Assembly, she spoke during a discussion on the Governor’s Address.
Here are five things Mamata Banerjee said at the Bengal Assembly
1. There are some rules and regulations that need to be followed in the House. The elections were concluded just recently and the Opposition has no right to threaten the functioning of the House. Individuals have the right to speech in a democracy, but the Opposition is grossly misusing this right.
2. Just because I have some issue against you does not mean that I will attack Sonia ji or Rahul Gandhi, that is my decency. I keep it in mind not to cross the lines of verbal attack. Similarly, I do not attack Buddhadeb or Jyotibabu personally.
3. The Trinamool Congress is fighting the BJP and the CPI(M) ideologically and the fight will continue in the time to come.
4. Bengal has lagged behind over the years and we must be more positive in the Assembly and the Opposition should be constructive and provide guidance for more development in the state. It is the Assembly”s responsibility towards the young generation to provide them with a bright future. The Opposition must join us in doing more constructive work in the House.
5. The Centre has been slashing budgets for ICDS, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and for the development of the Jangalmahal areas. Despite all odds, we are carrying on with these programmes. We had come to power with a huge burden of debt, in the last five years we have taken loans of 1,13,000 crore out of which 94,000 crore was spent in repaying the debt left by the Left government. The center is pushing the states into a debt trap. The Center should call for a meeting of the debt-ridden states like Punjab, Kerala and Bengal.
শিষ্টাচারে দেউলিয়া হয়ে গেছেন আপনারা: বিধানসভায় বিরোধীদের উদ্দেশ্যে বললেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী
বিধানসভায় তীব্র ভাষায় বিরোধীদের কটূক্তির জবাব দিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। শাসকদলের নেত্রী হিসেবে এদিন তিনি রাজ্যপালের ভাষণের ওপর বক্তব্য রাখছিলেন।
বিরোধীদের উদ্দেশ্যে যে পাঁচটি বিষয় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন সেগুলি হল:
বিধানসভার একটা ঐতিহ্য, পরম্পরা আছে। এত ঔদ্ধত্য যে এখানে দাঁড়িয়ে হুমকি দিচ্ছেন। গণতন্ত্র কথা বলার সুযোগ দিয়েছে মানে তার অপব্যবহার করা উচিত নয়। কথার লক্ষ্মণ রেখা অতিক্রম না করা উচিত নয়।
আপনারা আমার বিরুদ্ধে কুমন্তব্য করেছেন তার মানে এই নয় যে, আমি আপনাদের নেত্রী সোনিয়া গান্ধীর নামেও একই কথা বলব। এটাই শিষ্টাচার। শিষ্টাচারে দেউলিয়া হয়ে গেছেন আপনারা। কংগ্রেস দলটাকে সাইনবোর্ডে পরিণত করেছেন। জোট করতে গিয়ে দলটাকে শেষ করেছেন। জ্যোতিবাবু, বুদ্ধবাবুকে কোনওদিন খারাপ কথা বলিনি।
কংগ্রেসের সঙ্গে জোট আমাদের ন্যাচারাল চয়েস ছিল। মুলায়ম-মায়াবতীর সঙ্গে জোট করতে পারি, এনডিএ র সঙ্গে জোট করেছিলাম, কিন্তু সিপিএমের সঙ্গে কখনোও জোট হতে পারে না। বিজেপির সঙ্গে নীতিগত লড়াই চলছে, চলবে। সিপিএমের সঙ্গে লড়াই চলবে, যদিও সব বাম দল খারাপ নয়। কংগ্রেসের সাইনবোর্ডটা খুলে সিপিএমকে দিয়ে দিন।
বাংলা অনেক পিছিয়ে গেছে। আমাদের আরও ইতিবাচক হওয়া উচিত। আরও গঠনমূলক হতে হবে, কিভাবে ভালো কাজ করা যায় আমায় সে ব্যাপারে পরামর্শ দিন। আজ যদি কাজ না করতে পারি তবে কবে করব? কাজ না করলে ক্ষমা করবে না নতুন প্রজন্ম।
এরপর বর্তমান সামাজিক পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে কেন্দ্রের বিরুদ্ধেও সুর চড়িয়ে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “দেনার পাহাড় মাথায় নিয়ে ক্ষমতায় এসেছিলাম। ৫ বছরে ১ লক্ষ ১৩ হাজার কোটি টাকা ঋণ নিয়েছি। ৯৪ হাজার কোটি টাকা দেনা মেটাতেই চলে গেছে। সর্বশিক্ষা, ICDS, জঙ্গলমহলের টাকা বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে কেন্দ্র। ঠিকমতো প্যাকেজ দিচ্ছে না। রাজ্যগুলি ঋণের ফাঁদে জড়াচ্ছে কেন্দ্র”। পাঞ্জাব, বাংলা, কেরালার মতো কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের ঋণে জর্জরিত রাজ্যগুলিকে নিয়ে একটি পৃথক আলোচনা সভা করার আহ্বান করেন তৃণমূল নেত্রী। বাংলাকে বিশ্বসেরা করতে বিরোধীদের সহযোগিতার হাত বাড়ানোর আহ্বানও জানান তিনি।
