Was the BJP around when Vedas were being written: Mamata Banerjee
Bengal Chief Minister today mounted a torrid attack on the BJP for its communal, divisive politics. She was speaking at a public meeting in Cooch Behar.
The CM maintained that we do not need lessons in Hinduism from the BJP. “Hinduism is an ancient religion. Was the BJP around when Vedas were written? Ramakrishna, Vivekananda are our icons. We do not need lessons in Hinduism from BJP,” she said.
She also slammed the Centre for its decision to start UID for cows. “They have lost it. Are goats and fish next? They should give fodder to cows instead of Aadhaar card. This is ridiculous,” the CM said.
Mamata Banerjee added that instead of working for development, BJP is busy carrying out propaganda on social media.

কুচবিহারের জনসভায় বক্তব্য রাখার সময় বিজেপির ধর্মের উস্কানি দিয়ে, দাঙ্গা লাগিয়ে, বিভাজন সৃষ্টি করার যে রাজনীতি, তার বিরুদ্ধে ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।
তিনি বলেন যে, হিন্দু ধর্ম লক্ষ লক্ষ বছরের পুরনো ধর্ম। বেদ যখন লেখা হচ্ছিল তখন কি বিজেপি ছিল? রামকৃষ্ণ, বিবেকানন্দ আমাদের আইকন। বিজেপির থেকে আমাদের হিদু ধর্মের পাঠ নিতে হবে না।
তিনি কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের গরুর আধার কার্ড করার সিদ্ধান্ত’র নিন্দা করে তিনি বলেন, এরপর কি পুকুরের মাছ, ছাগলেরও আধার কার্ড করাবে? আধার কার্ডের বদলে গরুকে একটু ঘাস, খড় দেওয়া উচিত ওদের।
তিনি আরও বলেন, মানুষের উন্নয়নের কাজ করার বদলে বিজেপি সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় কুৎসা ও অপপ্রচার চালাচ্ছে।
