Unemployed youths registered with Government`s employment bank to get jobs soon
Unemployed youths registered with the State Government`s employment bank will get the opportunity to join as Group D staff, civic police and employees on a contractual basis, State Labour Minister Mr Purnendu Bose stated at Writers` Buildings. 
 
He said the decision was taken in the meeting of the group of ministers. The State Government will soon issue a notification regarding this matter. “The State Government is now recruiting Group D staff through PSC but registered unemployed youths from employment banks will be recruited for joining Group D jobs“, he said. 
 
More than 17 lakh unemployed persons were registered with the employment bank. He said, “ The Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee has already announced the Yuvashree Project for encouraging the unemployed youths. Around one lakh youths will get Rs 1,500 each and later more youths, registered with the employment bank, will be paid this grant. The grant will also be given to the unemployed youths of the block level.“
 
“Around 67 lakh youths were registered with the employment exchange during the erstwhile Left Front government`s regime but there were no specific policy to distribute the jobs for them. The State Government will also fix the age limit from 18 to 45 for registering with the employment exchange. Earlier, candidates below 18 used to register with the employment exchange. Modernisation work will also be started to upgrade employment exchanges in districts“ said the Labour Minister. 
 
Mr Bose added that the State Labour Department has been successful in bringing central trade unions to book, which were creating trouble in lot of factories. “Now local trade unions can resolve the matters amicably, “ he said.
