Trinamool RS Chief Whip Derek O`Brien says corruption in the UPA years has been in the tens and hundreds of thousands of crores
Shortly after the nephew of the Union Railway Minister was arrested by CBI for taking bribes, Trinamool RS Chief Whip Derek O`Brien pointed out the saddened state of the UPA II.
His statement is given below:
We care for Railways as an institution, Mamatadi tried to institute a culture of fair play and transparency. Sad to see it go.
Corruption in the UPA years has been in the tens and hundreds of thousands of crores. Many, many zeroes. When the families of ministers are down to taking bribes in the lakhs, down to retail-level corruption, it is astonishing and deeply embarrassing.
The UPA and the Congress need to introspect. 2G,Coal and so many more… The rot has set in so deeply.
Should Bansal resign? In his place, I would have. But Congress ministers seem to apply Fevicol before sitting down on a chair.
