Subrata Bakshi should carry ahead the legacy set by Ms. Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata (South)

AITMC Web News, Kolkata, Nov 8: "When I contested the Bhowanipore assembly by-poll, he had vacated the seat for me. I am giving him my Kolkata South Lok Sabha constituency; it is like a homecoming for him. I would appeal to people to bless Bakshi like they'd done to me. He will take ahead the works I had started for the constituency”, was the words of Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee at the convention held at Netaji Indoor Stadium while announcing the name of Mr. Subrata Bakshi for Kolkata South Lok Sabha bypoll, scheduled on November 30. “I hope all of you will endorse this decision”, asked the Chairperson and the decision was passed unanimously. The Chief Minister who is constantly making assessment of the performance of her ministers may use this opportunity to effect a re-shuffle of her council of ministers.
Bakshi has been associated with Ms. Mamata Banerjee since 1983 and has witnessed ups and downs over the years. He started his political life during his college life and joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party right from its inception. He is the TMC Party Rajya Sabhapati and had twice been the Member of the Legislative Assembly.
Mr. Bakshi won the Bhowanipur Constituency with 87903 votes in Assembly Elections (2003) registering a victory by a margin of 49936 compared to his immediate Left rival . Mr. Bakshi, the PWD and Transport minister had earlier vacated the Bhowanipore seat to enable the Trinamool Congress chief to contest from Bhowanipore.
This is once again an opportunity for all the people who crave for development who reside in Kolkata (S) Lok Sabha constituency to come forward in large numbers and exercise their franchise in favor of Mr. Subrata Bakshi and make him victorious as only then the vision seen by Ms. Banerjee will transform into a reality.
Maa-Mati-Manush shall triumph.
