Sagarika Ghose’s supplementary question during Question Hour on the government’s plan, if any, to decentralise the NEET examination next year as a local board is better able to understand and tackle problems faced by students

Sir, the NEET examination is India’s biggest competitive examination with 25 lakh candidates, 2 lakh invigilators and 4,500 examination centres. Is the Government considering, for the next year, decentralising the NEET examination which will make examining authorities more accountable because the responsibility to conduct the examination can be distributed among regional and State entities? A local examination board is in a better position to understand and tackle the problem faced by students in particular regions. Has the Government put in place any plans to decentralise the NEET examination for the next year?
