Bengal Govt launches state-wide road safety week
State-wide Road Safety Week to avert road accidents by creating awareness among more people will start from today. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a meeting in this regard with the Director General of Police and Commissioner of Kolkata Police on Saturday.
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had launched a state-wide awareness campaign “Safe Drive, Save Life” in August 2016 and it helped in reducing the number of accidents in the state.
The Road Safety Week will be organised in each and every block. It will also be organised in areas under all the police stations. People from all walks of life will be taking part in the awareness programme. There will be rallies and road shows to create awareness among people. Leaflets will be distributed. Posters and banners will also be put up.
আজ থেকে পালিত হবে ‘পথ সুরক্ষা সপ্তাহ’
পথ নিরাপত্তা সম্পর্কে মানুষকে আরও সচেতন করতে আজ থেকে রাজ্য ব্যাপী শুরু হবে ‘পথ সুরক্ষা সপ্তাহ’। শনিবার এই বিষয় নিয়ে কলকাতা পুলিশের ডিরেক্টর জেনারেল ও কমিশনারের সঙ্গে একটি বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।
উল্লেখ্য, মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ২০১৬ সালের আগস্ট মাসে রাজ্য জুড়ে পথ নিরাপত্তা কর্মসূচী “সেফ ড্রাইভ, সেভ লাইফ” চালু করেছিলেন। এর ফলে রাজ্যে দুর্ঘটনার সংখ্যা অনেকটাই কমেছে।
রাজ্যের প্রতিটি ব্লকে এই পথ নিরাপত্তা সপ্তাহ পালন করা হবে। সব থানার অধিনস্ত এলাকায় এই কর্মসূচীর আয়োজন করা হবে। সাধারণ মানুষকে সচেতন করার জন্য মিছিল ও রোড শো- র ও আয়োজন করা হবে। লিফলেট বিতরণ করা হবে। পোস্টার ও ব্যানার লাগানো হবে।
