PwC setting up Centre of Excellence in Kolkata
Global consultancy giant PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) is setting up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on artificial intelligence in Kolkata. The facility is expected to employ around 1,200 people. The Centre of Excellence will also house an Internet of Things (IoT) lab in the city, which will also be the first of its kind in the country.
PwC is investing around Rs 100 crore for setting up these city projects. With the employment of 1,200 techies, the new headcount of PwC in Kolkata will go up to 7,000.
The labs in the 60,000 sq ft CoE will be used to incubate solutions to address issues that are impacting businesses globally. These will cater to global clients in USA, the UK, Middle East, Russia and continental Europe.
