Modi Babu using CBI, ED to terrorise those who criticise him: Mamata Banerjee
Mamata Banerjee today slammed the Centre today and said that the Prime Minister Modi Babu is using central agencies like the CBI and ED against those who criticise him. She accused the Centre of being busy with note bandi, riot mongering and curtailing the rights of people.
She said she cannot be silenced by fear-mongering.
While criticizing Centre’s decision of demonetising 500 and 100 rupee notes, she said that from self help groups to small traders and workers who went to other states, all are suffering.
“Even business at fairs has declined. Small businesses are closing down,” she added. Jute mills are shutting down, tea garden workers are suffering. Do all farmers, mazdoors have debit and credit cards, she questioned.
“Democracy is by the people for the people of the people. The Centre has turned it to by the emergency, for the emergency, of the emergency,” Mamata Banerjee said.
She said that people will not accept the financial emergency imposed by the Centre. Bengal will lead the way in times of crisis, when all others are remaining silent, she said.

আজ কেন্দ্রের বিরুদ্ধে ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানান মোদী বাবুর সিদ্ধান্তের বিরোধিতা যেই করছে উনি তাকেই কেন্দ্রীয় সংস্থা সিবিআই ও ইডি দিয়ে ভয় দেখাচ্ছেন। তিনি বলেন, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার নোটবাতিল, দাঙ্গা লাগানো ও জনগনের অধিকার কিভাবে কেড়ে নেওয়া যায় সেই নিয়ে ব্যস্ত আছে।
তিনি আরও বলেন, ভয় দেখিয়ে তাঁকে অন্যায়ের প্রতিবাদ করা থেকে পিছিয়ে আনা যাবে না।
৫০০ ও ১০০০ টাকার নোটবাতিলের সিদ্ধান্তের বিরোধিতা করে তিনি বলেন এই সিদ্ধান্তের ফলে স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীর পাশাপাশি ক্ষুদ্র ব্যাবসায়ী ও কর্মীরাও চরম ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হচ্ছে। বিভিন্ন মেলাতে ব্যবসা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হচ্ছে। ছোট ব্যবসায়ীদের ব্যবসা বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে। চটকলগুলি বন্ধ হয়ে যাচ্ছে, চা বাগানের শ্রমিকরা মজুরি পাচ্ছেন না। সব কৃষক, মজুররা কি ক্রেডিট কার্ড, ডেবিট কার্ড ব্যাবহার করে?
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, সাধারণ মানুষের গনতান্ত্রিক অধিকার কেরে নেওয়ার চেষ্টা চলছে। গনতন্ত্র সাধারন মানুষের জন্য। কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার এই গণতন্ত্রে জরুরি অবস্থা তৈরি করেছেন।
তিনি আরও বলেন, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের এই জোর করে চাপিয়ে দেওয়া অর্থনৈতিক জরুরি অবস্থা মানুষ গ্রহন করবে না, এই চরম দুরবস্থার সময় বাকিরা যখন নীরব, তখন বাংলাই সকলকে পথ দেখাবে।
