Kolkata: Mamata Banerjee Gets Grand Welcome
Ms.Mamata Banerjee, Hon’ble Union Railway Minister, made her maiden visit to Braithwaite & Co Ltd and Burn Standard, the two sick units which were recently taken over by her ministry. She placed additional orders of 1250 more wagons (a few days ago orders for 1000 had been placed) and received a grand welcome at both units with even CITU (CPI-M’s trade union wing)leaders turning up to honour her with flower bouquets. Ms.Banerjee said that political affiliation of a worker does not matter to her so long as the person works hard and said, “We will strive to convert this organisation into a Navratna.” She also announced that SAIL has offered land at Kulti in Burdwan to set up a large wagon manufacturing unit and the railways will be part of this project.
