KMC administrative calendar on anvil
After the state government published administrative calendar, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has also decided to publish its annual administrative calendar to expedite various projects. The step has been taken to ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated time.
The calendar will feature the detail status of all the projects initiated by the KMC. The estimated cost of each project and their deadline will also be mentioned in the calendar.
Mayor, Sovan Chatterjee will hold meeting with members, mayor-in-council (MMIC) every month to inquire the status of the projects.
The MMICs will hold meetings with the departmental officers in every week to take a stock of ongoing projects.
“Often it has been noticed, that the projects fail the deadline due to various reasons. Projects often face problems while floating tenders. The main purpose of publishing administrative calendar is to ensure that the projects get completed within time. Steps would be taken against the officers who are found responsible for the late running of the project,“ Mr Chatterjee said.
A detail project report of all the departments including Road, Water, Light, Bustee, KEIP, and Civil Engineering, PMU will be available in the Calendar.
