I am the protector of the people of Bengal: Mamata Banerjee
Bengal Chief Minister today warned the BJP that their politics of intimidation and fear-mongering won’t work she will always be the protector of the people of Bengal. She was speaking at a public rally at Birpara in Alipurduar district.
The Chief Minister said, “BJP had promised to take over tea gardens. Over an year has passed, nothing has happened. They are planning to shift the headquarter of Tea Board from Kolkata to Assam. Why are they depriving Bengal?”
She added, “BJP is trying to destroy Bengal by indulging in divisive politics. They are indulging in politics of riots. They are running fake, malicious campaigns. We cannot be stopped with politics of intimidation and fear mongering.”
She demanded to know how much black money has been brought back from abroad and after demonetisation.
The Chief Minister warned that some outsiders were being brought to Bengal to stir communal tension. “We respect all religions. Those who respect religion do not sell it out on the streets. We will not allow any communal riots in Bengal. CPM-BJP-Congress made tall promises before elections. We never make promises that we cannot fulfil. BJP and CPM indulge in goondaism. We do not support that. We work for people of all religions, castes, communities,” she said.
“We work with our heads held high. Those who do not do any work only indulge in big talk,” the Chief Minister commented.
আমি বাংলার মানুষের পাহারাদার: মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়
আজ আলিপুরদুয়ারের বীরপাড়ায় একটি জনসভা থেকে বিজেপিকে হুঁশিয়ারি দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি বলেন বিভাজনের রাজনীতি বরদাস্ত করা হবে না এবং তিনিই মানুষের পাহারাদার।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “চা বাগান অধিগ্রহণের প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিল বিজেপি। এক বছর পার হয়ে গেছে অথচ কিছু হয়নি। চা বাগানের হেড কোয়ার্টার কলকাতা থেকে আসামে নিয়ে যাওয়ার পরিকল্পনা করেছিল। বাংলাকে ওরা কেন বঞ্চনা করছে?”
তিনি আরও বলেন, “বিজেপি বাংলাকে ধ্বংস করে দিচ্ছে, মানুষে মানুষে বিভেদ তৈরী করছে। ওরা দাঙ্গার রাজনীতি করছে। কুৎসা ও অপপ্রচার করে বেড়াচ্ছে। ভয় দেখিয়ে আমাদের আটকানো যাবে না”।
নোট বাতিলের পর কত কালো টাকা ফেরত এসেছে তাও জানতে চান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “কেউ কেউ পয়সা দিয়ে বহিরাগতদের নিয়ে এসে দাঙ্গা লাগানোর চেষ্টা করছে। ধর্মের নামে কোনরকম দাঙ্গা বরদাস্ত করব না। আমি সব ধর্মকে ভালোবাসি, বিশ্বাস করি। যে ধর্মকে ভালবাসে সে ধর্মকে রাস্তায় বিক্রি করে না। নির্বাচনের আগে অনেক বড় বড় কথা বলেছিল বিজেপি-সিপিএম-কংগ্রেস। আমরা মিথ্যে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিই না। বিজেপি আর বাম মিলে গুন্ডাগিরি করে, আমরা এসব সমর্থন করি না। আমরা সব ধর্ম-জাতি-সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষের জন্য কাজ করি”।
তাঁর কথায়, “আমরা মাথা উঁচু করে চলার লোক। যারা কিছু করে না তারা শুধু বড় বড় কথা বলে”।
