Don’t be scared, keep fighting: Mamata Banerjee’s Eid message from Red Road

Addressing a gathering of around 14,000 people after participating in a prayer service for Eid-ul-Fitr on Red Road on Tuesday, May 3, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee assured Muslims that “neither I nor my party nor my government will do anything which will make you sad”.

Describing the current situation in the country as “not fine”, she asserted that the “politics of isolation” going on in the country is not welcome.

The chief minister urged the people not to be scared but to be united for a better future.

“The situation in the country is not fine. The policy of divide and rule and politics of isolation going on in the country are not correct. We want unity. Everyone has the right to live together. We enjoy equal rights. Do not be scared and keep on fighting,” she said.

Mamata Banerjee also visited the Sholo Ana Mosque and spoke with the local people, who were quite excited to have her around. She wished everyone on the happy occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
