CM bonds Opposition with the Government in All Party Meet

The atmosphere at Writers’ Building is changing and the smiling faces of the opposition leaders at press meet confirm the `parivartan` (change). Indeed, it’s the `didi-magic` that galore all over the state including the Writers’ Building generating the positive energy inspiring to work towards the development in the state. The representatives from the ruling party including the Chief Minister and the Leaders of the Opposition had a hearty laugh when Ms. Banerjee confused the name of the later.
The West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee had a hectic day meeting several delegations at the Writers’ Building on Wednesday. The day started with the much called for all part meeting which was attended by representatives by various political parties. Many important issues came up for discussion including the one regarding proposed name change of West Bengal, she said meeting will commence to discuss the issue on August 19 at 4 pm at Assembly building. `I don’t find any reason to rename East Midnapore as Bihar has more districts than
Burdwan (rural), Burdwan (industrial-Durgapur/Asansol), Jalpaiguri/Alipurduar, West Midnapore/Jhargram and North 24-Parganas are among the districts which have been marked for restructuring. `There is a suggestion to include Murshidabad and South 24-Parganas in the list, we are looking into the matter`, she added.
Immediately after the meeting had a discussion with the Leader of the Opposition at her office regarding the Gorkha Territorial Authority and clarified the queries raised by the opposition leader. The GJM chief expressed happiness with the approach of the Mamata Banerjee government. In the past 34 years, the past government has done nothing for the development of the Hills, he opined. He also said that Mamata Banerjee`s government has given a lot, developing roads and helping in tourism. He said that the state government and GTA will work together.
