Chief Minister inaugurates a host of new attractions at Prakriti Tirtha, Rajarhat
The Chief Minister of West Bengal today inaugurated a host of new attractions at Prakriti Tirtha at Rajarhat. Parts of the Eco Park were thrown open to the public last year on 27 December 2012, although many facilities were being constantly being added to the park. A brain-child of the WB CM, the Eco Park has already established itself as a tourist destination, which was evident from the huge footfall during Christmas this year.
Among the new features that were inaugurated by WB CM Ms. Mamata Banerjee today, Children`s Eco Park, Bishwa Bangla Haat, Floating Musical Fountain, Butterfly Garden, Play area, Bamboo Garden, Fruit Garden, Grass Land, Mask Garden and Eco Island were the prominent ones. To make the place even more tourist-friendly, WB CM also inaugurated a Food Court, Adda zones, and a Formal Garden.
Although tea gardens require hilly slopes for growth, for the first time they have been grown in tropical climate of the plains. A tea garden has also been inaugurated by the CM in Rajarhat Prakriti Tirtha. The CM also laid the foundation stone of the wax museum, the first of its kind in the State. The CM also launched the first edition of New Town Journal.
The programme was followed by a special screening of the film Chander Pahar. For the first time, the State witnessed an open-air public screening of a film, presided over by the CM.
