Bengal highlights Sharod Utsav at Republic Day parade
Bengal government’s theme for the tableau for this year’s Republic Day Parade in New Delhi was Sharod Utsav. The theme showcased how people from all communities in Bengal participate and rejoice during the biggest festival of the state, Durga Puja.
There was an idol of Goddesses Durga at one end of the tableau and artists from different areas starting from the hills to Sunderbans performing their traditional forms of dances to symbolise how each and everyone in the state turns to be the part of Sharod Utsav.
All the artists, who will be performing in the parade, are receiving the financial assistance of the state government under Lok Prashar Scheme. The state government provides financial assistance to 80,000 folk artists in the state that helped to revive many art forms which would have gone extinct.
Women dhakis mainly from North 24-Parganas played dhaks on the tableau. The rhythmic beat of dhaks is an integral part of Durga Puja. Traditional dancers from Darjeeling and folk dancers from Midnapore also performed on the tableau.
Bengal was awarded twice earlier for the being the best tableau in the Republic Day Parade. In 2014, the tableau that was based on the Chhau Dance of the state had won the prize and again in 2016, the state’s tableau was awarded the first prize.
দিল্লির প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবস কুচকাওয়াজে বাংলার থিম শারদ উ९সব
এবছর দিল্লির প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবসের প্যারেডে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের থিম ছিল শারদ উ९সব। দুর্গা পুজোয় সব সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষ অংশগ্রহণ করে তাই এবছর এই উ९সবকে থিম করা হয়েছে।
ট্যাবলোর শেষে ছিল একটি দুর্গা প্রতিমা আর সামনে পারফর্ম করেন বাংলার লোকশিল্পীরা।
যেসকল লোকশিল্পীরা প্যারেডে অংশগ্রহণ করেন তারা রাজ্য সরকারের লোকপ্রসার প্রকল্পের আওতায় আর্থিক সহায়তা পান। এই প্রকল্পের আওতায় রাজ্য সরকার প্রায় ৮০০০০ হাজার শিল্পীকে আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদানের পাশাপাশি তাদের সরকারি অনুষ্ঠানে পারফর্ম করার সুযোগও করে দেন।
এই ট্যাবলোতে উত্তর ২৪ পরগনা জেলার মহিলা ঢাকিরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন। দার্জিলিঙ ও পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর সহ বিভিন্ন জেলার লোক শিল্পীরাও এখানে অংশগ্রহণ করেন।
এর আগে গত দুবার ২০১৪ ও ২০১৬ সালে প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবসে বাংলার ট্যাবলো পুরস্কার পেয়েছে। ২০১৪ সালে বাংলার থিম হয়েছিল ছৌ নাচ। ২০১৬ সালে বাংলার ট্যাবলো প্রথম পুরস্কার পেয়েছিল, থিম ছিল ‘বাংলার বাউল’।
