Kanyashree Dibas observed across Bengal
The West Bengal government celebrates ‘Kanyashree Divas’ today to mark the success of the highly acclaimed Kanyashree project.
On the occasion, girls from around the state for their achievements in several competitions have been felicitated.
About the scheme:
The Kanyashree Scheme was inaugurated by the Trinamool Congress government in October, 2013, with the express purpose of ensuring the education of girls and thereby preventing forced child marriage.
Under the scheme, the government provides an annual scholarship of Rs. 500 to girls between 12 and 18 years (class eight to class 12) to continue with their studies, provided they are unmarried. A one-time grant of Rs 25,000 is also provided to the girl, once she reaches the age of 18, to pursue higher studies.
আজ কন্যাশ্রী দিবস পালন করল রাজ্য সরকার
আজ কন্যাশ্রী দিবস উদযাপন করল – পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার। ২০১৩ সালে মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের স্বপ্নের এই ‘কন্যাশ্রী’ প্রকল্পের সূচনা হয়।
এই উপলক্ষে আজ এক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। চারপাশের বিভিন্ন জেলা থেকে কয়েকজনকে কন্যাশ্রী পুরস্কারে সংবর্ধিত করা হয়। একইসঙ্গে, কন্যাশ্রীর উপরে পোস্টার ও কবিতা সহ বিভিন্ন প্রতিযোগিতায় কৃতীদের হাতেও পুরস্কার তুলে দেওয়া হয়।
কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পঃ
মেয়েদের শিক্ষা নিশ্চিত করার লক্ষ্যে এবং বাল্য বিবাহ বন্ধ করার উদ্দেশ্যে ২০১৩ সালের অক্টোবর মাসে কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস পরিচালিত পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার।
১২ থেকে ১৮ বছর বয়সী অবিবাহিত কন্যাদের পড়াশোনার জন্য বছরে ৫০০ টাকা বৃত্তি প্রদান করে সরকার। এছাড়া এই প্রকল্পের আওতায় ১৮ বছর হওয়ার পর এককালীন তারা উচ্চশিক্ষার জন্য এককালীন ২৫০০০ টাকা পাবে।
এনএসএস-এর সাম্প্রতিক রিপোর্টে দেখা গেছে স্কুলছুটের অসুখ কাটিয়ে দেশের সেরা রাজ্যগুলোর মধ্যে জায়গা করে নিয়েছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ।
