Bengal is riding the wave of `paribartan` – Mamata Banerjee
As per the report released by the Attorney General of West Bengal on Tuesday, West Bengal Government has achieved a record high in plan expenditure during 2012-13. This clearly indicates that the State is riding the wave of development and transformation.
The State Chief Minister, Ms Mamata Banerjee shared sections of the report on her facebook page.
“AG, West Bengal has just released the provisional plan expenditure figures for 2012-13.
I am very happy to share with you that Bengal has achieved a staggering 33.22% growth in terms of plan expenditure during 2012-13 as compared to the previous year.
The state has incurred expenditure of nearly Rs.18,749 Cr as against Rs.14,074 Cr. in the previous year.
Expenditure in housing among economically weaker sections has grown by 238.89%.
Also, expenditure on Panchayat and Rural Development has crossed the Rs. 3000 Cr. mark.
In addition to this, I would like to repeat our higher growth than the national average in GSDP, Agriculture, Industry and Services in 2012-13 :
National Average / West Bengal Average
1) GDP/GSDP 4.96% / 7.6%
2) Agriculture & Allied Sector Growth Rate 1.79% / 2.56%
3) Industrial Growth Rate 3.12% / 6.24%
4) Services Sector Growth Rate 6.59% / 9.48%
We have been able to achieve this milestone despite the huge debt burden of more than Rs. 2 lakh crore thrust upon us by the previous regime and our liability to pay more than Rs.25,000 Cr. towards loan repayment and interest during the last financial year.
Bengal is transforming, riding the wave of `paribartan`. We dedicate this change to the Maa, Maati, Manush of Bengal.“
