Bengal Govt to distribute free notebooks to school students
After distributing textbooks, shoes, winter clothes and schoolbags among students of government and government-aided schools, the state is now planning to distribute exercise books to the students between classes VI and XII.
The students won’t have to purchase exercise books from the current academic session. No less than 20 lakh exercise books have already been printed and are ready to be handed over. This initiative is a first of its kind among all Indian states.
Education minister Partha Chatterjee said, “We aim to reduce stress among students. More and more students from the financially backward section will get the benefit. The schools will decide if the exercise books will be retained by them or the students will take them back home.”
Bengal government under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee is committed to ensure that Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 benefits all students.
বইয়ের পর এবার স্কুলের পড়ুয়াদের বিনামূল্যে খাতা দেবে রাজ্য সরকার
আকর্ষণীয় রঙিন মলাটে মোড়া, ঝাঁ চকচকে ছবি দেওয়া খাতাগুলি নিখরচায় স্কুল পড়ুয়াদের হাতে তুলে দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।
ইতিমধ্যেই স্কুলস্তরে বিনামূল্যে বই, ইউনিফর্ম, জুতো, স্কুল ব্যাগ দেওয়ার রীতি চালু হয়েছে। যাতায়াতের সুবিধার্থে পড়ুয়াদের সাইকেল দেওয়া হচ্ছে। খুব শীঘ্রই পড়ুয়াদের হাতে এই খাতাগুলি তুলে দেবে স্কুল কর্তৃপক্ষ।
ছাত্রছাত্রীদের কাছে আকর্ষণীয় করে তোলার জন্য কলাকুশলীদের দিয়ে তৈরী করানো হয়েছে মলাটগুলি। আপাতত ছয়টি ডিজাইন পছন্দ করা হয়েছে।
নিঃসন্দেহে এটি একটি প্রশংসনীয় উদ্যোগ। এর ফলে ছাত্রছাত্রীরা পড়াশোনায় আগ্রহী হবে এবং স্কুল ছুটের সংখ্যাও কমবে এবং শিক্ষার পরিকাঠামো আরও উন্নত হবে।
