Bengal Govt to construct permanent rehabilitation clusters for Chhitmahal dwellers
After the land comes the houses. In a novel effort to rehabilitate Chhitmahal dwellers, the state government has taken measures to construct permanent clusters.
In a bid to give permanent shelters to those who became Indian citizens with 51 enclaves coming within the country’s jurisdiction in July 2015, the step has been taken to reconstruct their lives and residential clusters for them.
Initially, such clusters will come up in three places in Cooch Behar. Around 230 families will be given shelter in them.

ভারত ও বাংলাদেশের মধ্যে ছিটমহল বিনিময় হয়েছে ইতিমধ্যেই। এবার ছিটমহলবাসীদের জন্য পাকা বাড়ি বানানোর উদ্যোগ নিল রাজ্য সরকার।
ভারতের ৫১টি ছিটমহলের বাসিন্দাদের সুবিধার্থেই এই উদ্যোগ রাজ্যের। কুচবিহার জেলার ৩টি জায়গায় তৈরী হবে এই বাড়ি। ২৩০টি পরিবার ঠাঁই পাবেন।
