Bengal Govt to computerise cooperative banks
The Bengal Government has decided to computerise the cooperative banks under its jurisdiction. This would enable the huge rural population of the state get access to the latest modern services.
During the current financial year, of the 29,000 cooperative banks, 3,000 would be computerised. For the rest, it would be completed within the next two to three years.
Cooperative banks provide a yeoman service to people from lower economic strata as well as farmers. According to the Cooperation Minister at recent departmental function, the department has set an aim of lending Rs 75 crore by the cooperative banks in the rural areas and Rs 100 crore by the banks in the urban areas.
Of the about Rs 550 crore loans taken by farmers in the year, the cooperative banks have lent about Rs 350 crore. Besides, during the last financial year, these banks loaned Rs 592 crore to the self-help groups; this target has been upped to Rs 1,400 crore for the current financial year.
আধুনিক পরিষেবা দিতে এবার সমবায় ব্যাঙ্কগুলিকে কম্পিউটারাইজড করছে রাজ্য
সমবায়গুলি গ্রাহকদের আধুনিক পরিষেবা দিতে গোটা ব্যবস্থাকেই কম্পিউটারাইজড করছে রাজ্য। আগামী দু’-তিন বছরের মধ্যে রাজ্যের সমস্ত সমবায়কে এই ব্যবস্থার আওতায় আনার পরিকল্পনা নেওয়া হয়েছে।
সমবায়মন্ত্রী বলেন, এজন্য চলতি আর্থিক বছরে রাজ্যের ২৯ হাজারের মধ্যে প্রথম দফায় তিন হাজার সমবায় ব্যাঙ্ককে কম্পিউটারাইজড করার কাজ শুরু হয়েছে। এই কাজ শেষ হলে গ্রাহকরা রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত ব্যাঙ্কের মতোই আধুনিক পরিষেবা পাবেন।
মন্ত্রী বলেন, চলতি আর্থিক বছরে গ্রামীণ এলাকায় আমরা বিনিয়োগের পরিমাণ বাড়িয়ে ৭৫ কোটি এবং শহর এলাকায় ১০০ কোটি টাকা করার লক্ষ্যমাত্রা রেখেছি। বছরে গোটা রাজ্যে প্রায় সাড়ে পাঁচশো কোটি টাকা কৃষিঋণ নেন কৃষকরা। যার মধ্যে প্রায় সাড়ে তিনশো কোটি টাকা দেয় সমবায় ব্যাঙ্কগুলি। এছাড়াও গত আর্থিক বছরে স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীগুলিকে আমরা ৫৯২ কোটি টাকা ঋণ দিয়েছিলাম। এবার সেই লক্ষ্যমাত্রা বাড়িয়ে ১৪০০ কোটি টাকা করা হয়েছে।
পরিকল্পনার সঠিক বাস্তবায়নের জন্য আগামী ২৫ জানুয়ারি রাজ্যের সমস্ত সমবায়ের কর্মীদের নিয়ে বৈঠক করা হবে।
