Bengal accomplishes a largely peaceful and democratic phase III panchayat polls
Rural West Bengal on July 19th accomplished a largely peaceful and democratic third phase panchayat election at Howrah, North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas.
Total vote polled till 7 pm at Howrah was 75%, North 24 Parganas was 78% and South 24 Parganas was 70%. A total of 85% vote was casted by the end of the day in all the districts. The people of Bengal showed faith and confidence in the Ma, mati, Manush Govt. and hence executed their franchise fearlessly.
Under the stringent supervision of the central and state forces, the elections were conducted in the most peaceful manner the state had ever witnessed in the past.
The next phase of panchayat election will be held on July 22 at Nadia, Murshidabad, Malda and Birbhoom and the last phase on July 25 at Coochbihar, Jalpaiguri, North Dinajpur and South Dinajpur. Counting of votes will take place July 29
