70 State bus terminuses to be renovated and modernised
The Bengal Government has taken grand up plans to renovate and modernise 70 bus terminuses in the State. The work for 20 would be completed in the first phase (by this December) and that for 50 more in the second phase.
Among the first 20 are the terminuses in Jadavpur, Garia, Taratala, Joka, Esplanade, Howrah, Kolkata Airport and Santragachi (three terminuses each in the last two places).
Among the facilities to be provided at each modernised terminus would be a passenger centre, an information centre manned by employees of the State Transport Department, a digital time table and an elevated display board, public address system, comfortable seating arrangements and a park, with a separate space for children.
Besides all the terminuses would be fully covered and would have floors paved with costly stones. There would be adequate lighting, arrangement for drinking water and toilets too. The area around the terminuses would be decorated with plants.
৭০টি বাস টার্মিনাসের আধুনিকীকরণ করবে রাজ্য সরকার
ভঙ্গুর টার্মিনাসগুলো আমূল সংস্কারের মাধ্যমে সুসজ্জিত করার উদ্যোগ নিল রাজ্য সরকার। রাজ্যের ৭০টি বাস টার্মিনাসকে সংস্কার করে যাত্রী সহায়ক গড়ে তোলা হবে। প্রথম ধাপে ২০ টি টার্মিনাসের কাজ শুরু হবে। ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যেই কাজ শেষ হয়ে যাবে। পরে বাকি ৫০টির কাজও শেষ হয়ে যাবে।
প্রথম পর্যায়ের এই ২০টি টার্মিনাসের তালিকায় রয়েছে যাদবপুর, গড়িয়া, তারাতলা, জোকা, এসপ্ল্যানেডের ট্রাম টার্মিনাস থেকে শুরু করে হাওড়া, বিমানবন্দরের ৩টে এবং সাঁতরাগাছির ৩টে টার্মিনাসও।
অত্যাধুনিক বাস টার্মিনাসগুলির বিশেষ সুবিধাঃ
টার্মিনাসগুলির ভিতরে তৈরী হবে পার্ক। পার্কের ভিতরে বাচ্চাদের খেলার জন্য বিভিন্ন সরঞ্জাম থাকবে। টার্মিনাসের মাথার ওপর শেড থাকবে, মেঝে তৈরী করা হবে দামি পাথর দিয়ে। যাত্রীদের বসার জন্য থাকবে আরামদায়ক আসন।
এছাড়াও যাত্রী সুবিধার্থে ডিজিটাল টাইম টেবিল এবং এলিভেটেড ডিস প্লে বোর্ড থাকবে। এর মাধ্যমে বাস ছাড়ার ও পৌঁছানোর নির্দিষ্ট টাইম জানা যাবে। একইসঙ্গে বাস টার্মিনাসের ভিতরেই তৈরী করা হবে ‘অনুসন্ধান কেন্দ্র’। এখানে সবসময় একজন করে পরিবহণ দপ্তরের কর্মী থাকবেন যার কাছ থেকে যাত্রীরা বাস সম্পর্কে সব রকম তথ্য পাবেন।
পাবলিক অ্যাড্রেসিং সিস্টেম, পর্যাপ্ত আলো, পরিস্রুত পানীয় জল ও শৌচালয়ের ব্যবস্থা থাকবে বাস টার্মিনাসগুলোয়। পুরো টার্মিনাস এলাকাগুলো গাছগাছালি দিয়ে সাজিয়ে তোলা হবে, বাস প্রবেশ ও প্রস্থানের জন্য তৈরী হবে সুদৃশ্য গেট।
