Woke up to the sad news of the cold-blooded, political murder of my co-worker Joydeb Jana in Sabang. The CPI(M), Congress and the BJP have more blood on their hands.
Have spoken to my colleagues in West Midnapore district. They confirm that the murder was done without any provocation. The Congress, CPI(M) and the BJP know their campaign is having no impact on the ground. Hence they are resorting to ‘bloody tactics’ of vendetta.
Law and order is under the Election Commission. This is not the first murder. Eight Trinamool workers have been murdered in the last few weeks.
The local Congress candidate Manas Bhuniya lodged a complaint against Joydeb Jana a few days ago. Even as late as yesterday he was conducting enquiries, following up and plotting the murder. All evidence points to the fact. We demand he be booked as an accused in the case.
Suvendu Adhikary, Partha Chatterjee, Dev will be present for the last rites of Joydeb Jana.
For three decades CPI(M) did not allow free and fair elections. Many Trinamool (and Congress) workers were killed under their watch. Yet the Congress has entered into an alliance with them. They have no respect for democracy.
People of Bengal want free, fair and peaceful elections. That’s what Mamata Banerjee has given them since 2011.

সবংয়ে আমাদের দলের সহকর্মী জয়দেব জানার মর্মান্তিক মৃত্যুর খবরে আজ সকালে ঘুম ভাঙল। সিপিএম-কংগ্রেস ও বিজেপির হাত এখন আরও রক্তাক্ত।
আমি পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার আমার সহকর্মীদের সাথে কথা বলেছি। তারা আমায় জানিয়েছেন বিনা প্ররোচনায় এই খুন করা হয়েছে। কংগ্রেস-সিপিএম-বিজেপি জানে যে তাদের প্রচার হালে পানি পাচ্ছে না। তাই তারা মরিয়া হয়ে ‘রক্তের রাজনীতি’ তে মেতে উঠেছেন।
রাজ্যের আইন শৃঙ্খলা এখন নির্বাচন কমিশনের দায়িত্বে। এটাই প্রথম খুন নয়। গত কয়েক সপ্তাহে আমাদের ৮ জন দলীয় কর্মী খুন হয়েছেন।
কয়েকদিন আগে লোকাল কংগ্রেস প্রার্থী মানস ভুঁইয়া জয়দেব জানার আগে একটি অভিযোগ দায়ের করেন। এমনকি গতকালও উনি খোঁজখবর নিচ্ছিলেন এবং খুনের পরিকল্পনা করছিলেন। সব তথ্য প্রমাণ অনুযায়ী অভিযোগের তির অনার দিকেই উঠছে। আমাদের দাবি এই ঘটনায় অভিযুক্ত হিসেবে ওনাকেই চিনহিত করা হোক।
শুভেন্দু অধিকারী, পার্থ চ্যাটার্জি, দেব এবং মুকুল রায় জয়দেব জানার শেষকৃত্যে উপস্থিত থাকবেন।
তিন দশক ধরে সিপিএম অবাধ, শান্তিপূর্ণ নির্বাচন হতে দেয়নি। তাদের আমলে প্রচুর তৃণমূল (ও কংগ্রেস) কর্মী খুন হয়েছেন। আজ সেই কংগ্রেসই সিপিএমের সঙ্গে জোট করেছে। ওদের গণতন্ত্রের প্রতি কোন শ্রদ্ধা নেই।
বাংলার মানুষ অবাধ, শান্তিপূর্ণ নির্বাচন চায়, যা মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ২০১১ সাল থেকে বাংলার মানুষকে দিয়ে এসেছে।
