Bardhaman: Flourishing in all sectors
The district of Bardhaman has witnessed enormous development in the last four-and-a-half years under the Trinamool Congress Government.
Mamata Banerjee has rolled out numerous government schemes and initiatives to help the people of the district.
‘Mati Tirtha-Krishi Katha,’ established in Bardhaman, has been praised by the UN’s Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO).
Administration
- For administrative ease and to help with development, it has been decided to create two districts out of Bardhaman – Bardhaman (Rural) and Bardhaman (Industrial).
- Asansol-Durgapur is being developed as a new police commissionerate.
Industry
- Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport in Andal is now operational; this is India’s first private greenfield airport.
- The West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation is setting up an industrial park covering an area of 1,458 acres in Panagarh.
Urban Development
- Around Rs 430 crore has been spent in developmental projects in the eight municipalities of Bardhaman.
Power
- Under the Shobar Ghore Alo scheme, 100% households in the district have been electrified.
PWD and Transport
- 140 projects to construct roads and bridges, costing Rs 616 crore, completed. This has helped around 65 lakh people.
Khadya Sathi
- More than 52 lakh people getting foodgrains at Rs 2/kg
Public Health Engineering
- Rs 142 crore has been spent on 85 water projects, of which 29 have been completed. This has benefited more than 3 lakh people in the district.
Tourism
- West Bengal’s first State Institute of Hotel Management is being set up in Durgapur.
Labour
- State-Assisted Scheme of Provident Fund for Unorganised Workers has benefited around 3.73 lakh people.
- Around 1.33 lakh people have been registered under Building and Other Construction Workers Act.
Housing
- 8,000 houses for the homeless built under Gitanjali and other schemes.
The State Government’s services are now easily available to everyone. Governance and development are the trump cards of the West Bengal Government.
বর্ধমানে প্রগতির বিপুল জোয়ার
বিগত সাড়ে চার বছরে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস বর্ধমান জেলায় উন্নয়নের জোয়ার নিয়ে এসেছে। মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এই জেলার উন্নয়নের জন্য প্রছুর সরকারি প্রকল্প এবং উদ্যোগ চালু করেছেন।
বর্ধমান জেলার মাটি তীর্থ-কৃষি কথা ইউনাইটড নেশান্স অরগানাইজেশান দ্বারা স্বীকৃত।
স্বরাষ্ট্র
প্রশাসনিক সুবিধার্থে ও উন্নয়নের স্বার্থে বর্ধমানকে ২টি পৃথক জেলা গঠনের সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া হয়েছে।
আসানসোল-দুর্গাপুর নতুন Police Commissionerate হিসাবে গরে তোলা হয়েছ।
শিক্ষা
কাজী নজরুল ইসলাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় স্থাপিত করা হয়েছে আসানসোলে।
২টি সরকারি কলেজ চালু হয়ে গেছে কালনা ও মঙ্গলকোটে।
পুরবাস্থলি-১, মঙ্গলকোট এবং ভাতারে ITI স্থাপন করা হয়েছে।
খাদ্য সাথি
৫২ লাখেরও বেশি বেশি মানুষ ২/- টাকা কেজি দরে খাদ্যশস্য পাচ্ছেন।
শিল্প
অন্ডালে কাজী নজরুল ইসলাম বিমানবন্দর চালু হয়েছে। এটি ভারতের প্রথম বেসরকারি Greenfield Airport।
West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation ১৪৫৮ একর জমিতে পানাগড় ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্ক গড়ে তুলছে।
পূর্ত ও পরিবহন
১৪০টি প্রকল্পের কাজ প্রায় ৬১৬ কোটি টাকা খরছ করে ইতিমধ্যে সমাপ্ত হয়েছে। এর ফলে প্রায় ৬৫ লক্ষ মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছে। আরও ৪৩টি প্রকল্পের কাজ আগামি মে মাসের মধ্যে সমাপ্ত হবে।
বিদ্যুৎ
সমগ্র জেলায় ‘সবার ঘরে সবার আলো প্রকল্পে’ ১০০% বৈদ্যুতিকরনের কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে।
জনস্বাস্থ্য কারিগরি
১৪২ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে ৮৫টি জল্প্রকল্পের কাজ শুরু হয়েছে, এর মধ্যে ২৯টির কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে।
পর্যটন
রাজ্যের প্রথম State Institute of Hotel Management দুর্গাপুরে গরে তোলা হচ্ছে।

পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন
বর্ধমান জেলায় ৮টি মিউনিসিপালিটিতে প্রায় ৪৩০ কোটি টাকা পরিকল্পনা খাতে ব্যয় করেছে।
আবাসন
আর্থিক ভাবে দুর্বল মানুষদের জন্যে গীতাঞ্জলি ও অন্যান্য প্রকল্পে ১০০০০ বাসস্থান নির্মাণ করা হবে যার মধ্যে ৮০০০টি ইতিমধ্যেই নির্মাণ হয়ে গেছে।
