Unprecedented development in Purulia
The district of Purulia forms a major part of Jangalmahal. What used to be a hotbed of Left Wing terrorism and a land of hunger and drought has been turned around into a tourist hotspot and a land where peace and tranquility reigns.
These could be achieved only because of the policies taken up by the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress Government.
Home
- Jhalda and Manbazar are soon being transformed into sub-divisional cities
Health
- A new medical college is being set up in the district
- Four fair price medicine shops have already been set up at Purulia Sadar Hospital, Raghunathpur Sub-divisional Hospital and Kotshila and Manbazar Rural Hospitals.
Education
- Administrative building of Sidho-Kanhu-Birsa University built
- Classes are on at the new Manbazar Government College
- New engineering college in Jaipur is close to completion
Agriculture
- Kisan Credit Cards given to 1.6 lakh farmers in the district
- Eight Kisan Mandis are now in place – in Purulia-2, Manbazar-1, Kashipur, Nituria, Balarampur, Borabazar, Baghmundi and Hura blocks. Five more are being set up.
Panchayat and Rural Development
- Through the 100 Days’ Work Scheme, Rs 661 crore has been spent and 3.24 crore man-days have been created.
Minority Development
- During the last four years, 1.05 lakh students have received scholarships worth Rs 17 crore.
- Three hostels for students of minority communities are operational, two more being built
Backward Class and Tribal Welfare
- More than 60,000 students in the district have received assistance under the Sikshashree Scheme.
Women and Child Development
- As part of the Kanyashree Scheme, 1.16 lakh girls are receiving scholarships.
Khadya Sathi Scheme
- Under the scheme, 26.56 lakh people are getting foodgrains at Rs 2 per kg, and a maximum of 35 kg per family.
Social Security schemes in Jangalmahal
- The Government has started the Samaj Sathi Scheme for the upliftment of the poorest of the poor in the Jangalmahal region, who survive by collecting and selling kendu leaves.
- After the Centre stopped the Integrated Action Plan, the State Government took up the Jangalmahal Action Plan from 2015 and allotted Rs 110 crore for the development of 24 blocks of the Jangalmahal region and 10 blocks of Birbhum district.
Purulia has seen a wave of developmental changes in the past four and half years and it is quite evident that within this short period, 91% of the people in the district have been beneficiaries of one or another government schemes.
পুরুলিয়ার অভূতপূর্ব উন্নয়ন
জঙ্গলমহলের একটি বড় অংশ হল পুরুলিয়া। বাম আমলে সন্ত্রাসবাদীদের অত্যাচারে জঙ্গলমহল অগ্নিগর্ভ হয়ে উঠেছিল। কিন্তু এখন সেখানে শান্তি বিরাজ করছে, জঙ্গলমহল এখন হাসছে। এই কৃতিত্ব মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বাধীন তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সরকার।
স্বরাষ্ট্র
ঝালদা এবং মানবাজারকে নতুন ২টি মহকুমা শহর হিসাবে ঘোষণা করার সিদ্ধান্ত গৃহীত হয়েছে।
স্বাস্থ্য
- পুরুলিয়ায় একটি নতুন মেডিকেল কলেজ তৈরি হয়েছে।
- পুরুলিয়া জেলা সদর হাসপাতাল, রঘুনাথপুর মহকুমা, কোটশিলা গ্রামীণ হাসপাতাল ও মানবাজার গ্রামীণ হাসপাতালে ৪টি ন্যায্য মূল্যের ওষুধের দোকান চালু হয়ে গেছে।
শিক্ষা
- সিধো-কানহো-বীরসা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রশাসনিক ভবনের নির্মাণ কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়ে গেছে।
- মানবাজার সরকারি কলেজে পঠন-পাঠন শুরু হয়ে গেছে।
- প্রায় ৩০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে জয়পুরে সরকারি ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজের কাজ শেষের মুখে।
কৃষি
- এই জেলায় প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৬০ হাজার কৃষককে কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ড দেওয়া হয়েছে।
- ৮টি কিষাণ মাণ্ডির কাজ শেষ হয়েছে। এগুলি হল – পুরুলিয়া-২, মানবাজার-১, কাশীপুর, নিতুড়িয়া, বলরামপুর, বড়বাজার, বাঘমুণ্ডি এবং হুরা। আরও ৫টি কিষাণ মাণ্ডি তৈরির কাজ চলছে।
পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন
বিগত সাড়ে চার বছরে ১০০ দিনের কাজে প্রায় ৬৬১ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে ৩ কোটি ২৪ লক্ষ শ্রম দিবস সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।
সংখ্যালঘু উন্নয়ন
- বিগত সাড়ে ৪ বছরে প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৫ হাজার সংখ্যালঘু ছাত্রছাত্রীকে প্রায় ১৭ কোটি টাকা বৃত্তি প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
- প্রায় ৫ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ৫টি মাইনরিটি হস্টেল গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে, এর মধ্যে ৩টির কাজ শেষ হয়ে গেছে বাকি ২টির কাজ চলছে।
অনগ্রসর কল্যাণ ও আদিবাসী উন্নয়ন
প্রায় ৬০ হাজার ছাত্র-ছাত্রী ‘শিক্ষাশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে সহায়তা পাচ্ছে।
নারী ও শিশু উন্নয়ন
জেলায় প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ১৬ হাজার ছাত্রী কন্যাশ্রীর আওতায় এসেছে।
খাদ্য সাথী
- এই জেলায় ২৬ লক্ষ ৫৬ হাজার মানুষ ২ টাকা কেজি দরে খাদ্যশস্য পাচ্ছেন।
- জঙ্গলমহল অঞ্চলের প্রতিটি পরিবার ২ টাকা কিলো দরে ৩৫ কেজি খাদ্যশস্য পাচ্ছেন।
সামাজিক সুরক্ষা কর্মসূচী ও উন্নয়ন
- সম্প্রতি জঙ্গলমহল এলাকার যে সব আদিবাসী ও অন্যান্য দরিদ্র পরিবার কেন্দু পাতা সংগ্রহ করে জীবিকা নির্বাহ করেন তাদের সামাজিক সুরক্ষার জন্য নতুন ‘সমাজ সাথী’ প্রকল্প চালু হয়েছে।
- ২০১৫-১৬ অর্থবর্ষ থেকে কেন্দ্র সরকার IAP প্রকল্পটি বন্ধ করে দেওয়ার পর আমাদের সরকার জঙ্গলমহল উন্নয়নে নতুন কর্মসূচী চালু করেছে। এক্ষেত্রে জঙ্গলমহলের ২৪টি ব্লকের সঙ্গে বীরভূমের ১০টি ব্লকও অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়েছে।
গত সাড়ে চার বছরে পুরুলিয়ায় ব্যাপক উন্নয়ন হয়েছে এবং খুব কম সময়ের মধ্যে এই পরিবর্তন এসেছে। বর্তমানে এই জেলার প্রায় ৯১ শতাংশ মানুষের কাছে সরকারি পরিষেবা পৌঁছে গেছে।
