WB Govt is working for the interests of the labour class: WB CM in Asansol

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee inaugurated several projects for Bardhaman district today and took stock of the status of developmental works.
The Chief Minister also addressed a programme at Asansol Police Line Ground and inaugurated twenty five completed projects. These include girls’ hostels, water supply projects, new roads, flyovers, several units in hospitals and health centres.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for fifty six new developmental projects, besides distributing benefits for schemes like Kanyashree and Gatidhara. She also distributed different scholarships and grants.
Ministers of West Bengal Government and local MLAs were present on the occasion.
Highlights of Chief Minister’s speech:
Our Govt has done away with attestation by gazetted officers. Now self-attestation will be sufficient. We trust the people.
We have laid the foundation stone for a Labour Bhavan in Asansol. We have allocated Rs 8 crore for this. People of industrial belt do not have to go to Kolkata to solve labour problems anymore.
We have started pension scheme for masons. We are bringing unorganised sector under the scheme.
If any labourer dies due to accident, we have instituted ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh for the survivor family.
We are setting up a multi super specialty hospital in Asansol. 40 such hospitals are coming up in Bengal.
Here we are creating employment for around one lakh people. There cannot be any politics where development is concerned.
Please do not misuse the name of the Singur-Nandigram movement. It did not come cheap. First perform a 26-day fast.
Just because I am handling the Government, the Center is playing the politics of revenge. We will not tolerate this.
