We have to create booth-level workers: Abhishek Banerjee at Arambagh

Trinamool Youth Congress President Mr Abhishek Banerjee addressed a rally at Arambagh in Hooghly district on Friday. This was the second rally of the first phase of his district visits; the first was held on November 11, 2014 at Domkal in Murshidabad.

He is reaching out to the party workers to queer the pitch against the Opposition’s attempts at inciting unrest in the State. The next rally will be held at Jalpaiguri on November 17.

Excerpts from his speech:

A conspiracy is afoot to malign the name of Mamata Banerjee. The Opposition is trying to shame Bengal. We have to resist these conspiracies. We have to fight united. We need committed people at booth level who will work for the party. Even one such committed worker is enough to take on hundred harmads of the Opposition. You have to take the message of Mamata Banerjee to the people.

The Opposition starts outraging these days at the drop of a hat. Why is there no rain, why is the ice melting into water – they want the Chief Minister to answer any issue and hold her responsible. People of Bengal have given us the responsibility. We are carrying out developmental works at Panchayat as well as Municipal level.

The Opposition cannot counter our development initiatives. So they are indulging in smear campaign.

Some leaders come to Kolkata on a flight and head for TV studios right after landing. A section of the media propagates lies at their behest. They are trying to sell off the Nation. They want to capture power with money power. They made tall promises before elections and have forgotten common people now.

There was a time when terror ruled Arambagh. Some Left leaders had used extremely filthy language against Mamata Banerjee from the soil of Arambagh. People gave a befitting reply to them.

BJP-CPM-Congress are trying to finish off Trinamool Congress. We have to give a fitting reply. We have to create booth level workers. We have to work unitedly for the sake of the people of Bengal.
