West Bengal government has added another feather to its cap, this time for sanitation facilities in schools. The state has received 'Three Star' mark from the Union Human Resource Department reveals a recent survey.
Cleanliness and sanitation in government-sponsored schools in West Bengal have been a top priority for Trinamool Congress led West Bengal Government. While most of the schools in other states like Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh or Rajasthan lack basic facilities like toilets, most schools in West Bengal have proper sanitation system and toilets.
With the projects like Kanyashree and Sikhhashree in place proper mid-day meal scheme, dropout rate has also come down in the State. Additionally, the schools provide purified drinking water and have proper boundaries and separate toilets for boys and girls.
Bengal also features among the top States in the implementation of Right to Education, the survey of the Union HRD Ministry has revealed.
