WB CM inaugurates a slew of projects at Bongaon
West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee today chaired an administrative review meeting with the district officials of North 24 Parganas at Bongaon. She took stock of the developmental works done so far in the district, and reviewed the progress of the projects underway.
At 1 PM, at a public meeting held at Bongaon Stadium, the Chief Minister inaugurated 75 projects that have been completed. These include new cold storage units, roads, bold preservation units, hostels, and water supply projects among a host of other projects. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for 73 new projects.
She distributed benefits like Kanyashree, Yuvashree, Sikshashree, land pattas and different grants and scholarships from the stage.
It may be noted that the West Bengal Chief Minister and her entourage of secretaries have already conducted more than seventy five review meetings, visiting each district at least thrice.
Highlights of her speech:
- I will be attending a rally at Kolkata after this meeting. I have a packed schedule for the week after that.
- Earlier people of districts had to come to Kolkata for official work. We have taken the Secretariat to the districts.
- We announce several projects during a district visit and during the next visit, we inaugurate them.
- We try our best to extend maximum benefits of various schemes to the people.
- We began our administrative review meetings from North 24 Parganas and in future too we will keep coming here.
- If you work for people, they will love you back.
- I like to give a fitting reply of the Opposition's malicious propaganda through my developmental projects.
- We have made all beds free at government hospitals.
- We have set up fair price medicine shops. We are setting up fair price diagnostic centres. Now MRI, CT Scan, Dialysis will become affordable for the poor.
- We are setting up 34 multi super-specialty hospitals in Bengal. Two of them are coming up in Bongaon and Basirhat.
