#RealBengal Real Stories – How #Poriborton transformed lives in Bengal

Over the last four and a half years there has been an unprecedented growth and development across West Bengal. From Darjeeling to Jangalmahal, Cooch Behar to Kakdwip, Sagar to Sitalkuchi – people are smiling.

Here are some genuine stories of how good governance has changed people’s lives. Real people have shared their experiences.

From teenage girls to housewives, from doctors and entrepreneurs to senior citizens, from women who have been empowered through self-help groups to folk artistes who have got due recognition, from farmers who have increased their productivity to Kolkatans who have more reasons to cheer…

This series of short films is a shining testimony of how dreams have been fulfilled in our state.

Here are some of the stories:

Puja Mahali from Alipurduar can now fulfil her dream of pursuing higher education in Hindi due to the establishment of Banarhat Hindi College.

Kalipada Mura, a wood cutter from Amlashole in West Midnapore is one of 8 crore people in Bengal receiving rice at Rs 2 per kg under the ‘Khadya Sathi’ scheme.

Jaladhar Karmakar of Purulia, a daily wage-earner benefited from ‘Sishu Sathi’ scheme which provides free treatment for children with heart problems.

Life has changed for the better for Nakul Pramanik, a tourist guide in Purulia with peace and normalcy returning to Jangalmahal.

Ramanath Singh Mura, a Chhau artiste from Purulia, got due recognition under the Lokprasar Prakalpa.

Sanjay Pramanik, a former extremist, has now returned to the mainstream.

Suchita Mandal from Birbhum is associated with a self-help group which received a loan, bought sewing machines and started a business.

Chandidas Majhi from Birbhum is a Baul singer who has received his due recognition.

Amit Nayek from Dooars is a driver whose life has become easier due to increase in tourist inflow.

Many artistes, like Shanti Sharma from Darjeeling, are now getting monthly stipends.

Hafijur Rahman from Dakshin Dinajpur did not have any land earlier, now he has a roof on his head and is living in peace and prosperity.

Sheela Oraon is a tea-garden worker of Alipurduar who gets amenities under our Social Security.

Nandita Das from Nadia goes to school faster now thanks to her Sabuj Sathi cycle.

Khokon Debnath from Nadia has benefited due to better irrigation facilities.

Dalim Jana from North 24 Parganas has benefited immensely due to huge thrust on pisciculture.

Bishwanath Jana from North 24 Parganas has benefited immensely due to organic farming.

Prashanta Maity of North 24 Parganas, who struggled in a mud house in the past, has a pucca house now.

#RealBengal Real Stories in Kolkata & North 24 Parganas, hosted by June Malia

Prasanta Maity from Barasat, North 24 Parganas struggled for many years in a mud house that leaked through the roof in the rainy season. Today, he lives with his family in a pucca house made under Gitanjali.

Anirban Saha, founder of Kolkata Bloggers, prides over the transformation of the city in the past few years. He is happy that it has now become a more youthful, cleaner and vibrant city for startups, sports persons and photographers.

Dr. Sushmita Roy Chowdhury, a chest specialist and a proud Kolkatan who has returned to practice in her city, marvels at the improvement in hospital care facilities in Bengal in the past 5 years.

আসল বাংলা আসল কাহিনীঃ কলকাতা ও উত্তর ২৪ পরগনার নতুন কাহিনী

উত্তর ২৪ পরগণা জেলার বারাসাতের বাসিন্দা প্রশান্ত মাইতি বহু বছর খুব কষ্ট করে মাটির বাড়িতে বসবাস করছে, বৃষ্টির সময় ছাদ থেকে জল পরত। আজ ‘গীতাঞ্জলি’ প্রকল্পের আওতায় সে একটি পাকা বাড়ি পেয়েছে এবং সেখানে সুখে বসবাস করছে।

অনির্বাণ সাহা যিনি কলকাতা ব্লগারের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা, তিনি গত কয়েক বছরে কলকাতার এই আমুল পরিবর্তনে খুবই গর্বিত। বর্তমানে কলকাতা অনেক বেশি পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্ন তাই তিনি খুব খুশি।

ডঃ সুস্মিতা রয়চৌধুরী, তিনি একজন বক্ষরোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ। বিদেশ থেকে কলকাতায় ফিরে আজ তিনি এখানেই তার প্র্যাকটিস শুরু করেছেন। গত ৫ বছরে সরকারি হাসপাতাল থেকে শুরু করে সমগ্র স্বাস্থ্য ব্যবস্থার অভূতপূর্ব উন্নতি হয়েছে। স্বাস্থ্য পরিষেবা অনেক উন্নত হয়েছে।

#RealBengal Real Stories – How Pooja Mahali moved a step closer to fulfilling her dream

Trinamool Chairperson Ms Mamata Banerjee today shared the first story out of a series of 40 new short films that highlight the development and growth Bengal has witnessed over the last four and a half years.

The series is called #Real Bengal Real Stories and features genuine tales from real people.

“This series of short films is a shining testimony of how dreams have been fulfilled in our state,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

One such story will be shared every day on her Facebook page.

The first story of the series is about Pooja Mahali from Alipurduar. It was her dream to pursue higher education in Hindi medium. She is closer to achieving her dream because of the new Hindi College set up in Banarhat.

“With Didi’s blessings, we are smiling and entire Bengal is smiling,” Pooja says in the short film.

পূজা মাহালির স্বপ্নপূরণের কাহিনী

তৃণমূলনেত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় আজ নিজের ফেসবুক পেজে একটি ‘শর্ট ফিল্ম’ শেয়ার করেন। গত সাড়ে পাঁচ বছরে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে যে বিপুল উন্নয়ন ও প্রগতি হয়েছে তা তুলে ধরতে ৪০টি এমন ভিডিওর একটি ‘সিরিজ’ তৈরী করা হয়েছে।

#প্রকৃতবাংলা প্রকৃত কাহিনী শীর্ষক এই সিরিজের কাহিনী গুলো সবই প্রকৃত মানুষের। “এই সিরিজটি বাংলার মানুষের স্বপ্নপূরণের প্রমাণ,” ফেসবুক পেজে লেখেন জননেত্রী। প্রত্যেক দিন ওনার ফেসবুক পেজে এরকম একটি করে ভিডিও প্রকাশিত হবে।

এই সিরিজের প্রথম কাহিনীটি আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলার বাসিন্দা পূজা মাহালির। পূজার স্বপ্ন ছিল হিন্দী ভাষাতে আরও পড়াশোনা করার। বানারহাটে যে নতুন হিন্দী কলেজ সস্থাপিত হয়েছে তার ফলে পূজা নিজের স্বপ্নপূরণের দিকে এক ধাপ এগিয়ে গেছেন।

“দিদির আশীর্বাদে আমরাও হাসছি, সারা বাংলাও হাসছে,” ভিডিওতে মন্তব্য পূজার।

সুশাসনের ফলে মানুষের জীবনে আসা পরিবর্তনের কাহিনী তুলে ধরতে একটি নতুন ভিডিও সিরিজ

গত পাঁচ বছরে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে অভূতপূর্ব এক উন্নয়নের জোয়ার এসছে। দার্জিলিং থেকে জঙ্গলমহল, কোচবিহার থেকে কাকদ্বীপ, সাগর থেকে শীতলকুচি – বাংলার মানুষ হাসছে।

এই কাহিনীগুলো খুঁজে বের করতে খুব একটা অসুবিধা হয়নি, কারণ সাড়ে চার বছরের সুশাসন ও কঠোর পরিশ্রমের ফলে এরকম নিদর্শন রাজ্যে রয়েছে ভুরি ভুরি।
