Aiming to produce next generation batteries, Exide Industries will invest Rs 700 crore as capital expenditure (capex) in its Haldia plant in West Bengal.

“We will invest Rs 1,400 crore as capital expenditure between this year and the next year. The capex expenditure will be made primarily for new technology which we are getting from East Penn, USA,” said company’s MD and CEO. Of the total capex, Rs 700 crore will be invested in Haldia for implementation of new technology and capacity expansion, he said.

The first phase of new technology enabled plant in Haldia will be operational in fourth quarter of this year.

হলদিয়ায় ৭০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করবে এক্সাইড

রাজ্যে শিল্পক্ষেত্রে এবার লগ্নী আসছে। দেশের এক নম্বর স্টোরেজ ব্যাটারি সংস্থা এক্সাইড ইন্ডাস্ট্রি ৭০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করছে।

এক্সাইডের সিইও বলেন, চলতি ও আগামী আর্থিক বছরে আমরা ১৪০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করব। এর মধ্যে ৭০০ কোটি টাকা লগ্নী করে হলদিয়াতে গাড়ির নয়া ও আগামী প্রজন্মের ব্যাটারি তৈরি করার কারখানা তৈরি হবে। বাকি ৭০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ সংস্থার অন্যান্য কারখানার উৎপাদন ক্ষমতা ও প্রযুক্তিগত উন্নয়ন খাতে লগ্নি করা হবে।

এই অর্থবর্ষের চতুর্থ কোয়ার্টারে প্রথম পর্যায়ের কাজ শেষ হয়ে যাবে।
