Pathadisha app to have realtime location of state-run buses plying to tourist spots

Real-time location of the state-run buses plying from the city to tourist spots, including some religious places in adjoining districts, will be soon made available in Pathadisha App. If everything goes as planned, then in another four months the information will be available in the app.

The state Transport department has introduced the app in the mid of March to help commuters get information on the real time location of state-run buses. With inclusion of all the buses run by WBTC, the realtime location of those plying in adjacent districts including Howrah, Hooghly, Nadia, North and South 24 Parganas will be available in the app.

Buses connecting tourist spots in South Bengal districts including Digha in East Midnapore and Gadiara in Howrah will be included in the app. Moreover, real time location of the buses plying between the city and religious places including Mayapur, Aathpur, Jayrambati, Kamarpukur, Furfura Sharif and Belur Math will also be made available in the app. At present information about some of the buses connecting Dakshineswar Kali Temple with the city and other places have already been made available in the app.

All steps are being taken to complete the task within the next four months.

 

পথদিশা অ্যাপে এবার মিলবে পর্যটন কেন্দ্রের বাসের হদিস

 

রাজ্য সরকারের যে সব বাস শহর থেকে বিভিন্ন জেলার দর্শনীয় ও ধার্মিক স্থানে যাত্রীদের নিয়ে যায়, সেগুলির অবস্থান খুব শীঘ্রই জানা যাবে পথদিশা অ্যাপের মাধ্যমে।

এ বছরের মার্চ মাসে রাজ্য পরিবহণ দপ্তর এই অ্যাপটি চালু করে। এর মাধ্যমে সরকারি বাসগুলির জিপিএস লোকেশন সংক্রান্ত তথ্য পাওয়া যায়।

খুব শীঘ্রই যে সব বাস কলকাতা থেকে হাওড়া, হুগলী, নদীয়া, উত্তর ও দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগণা যায় সেগুলোর সঠিক অবস্থানও জানা যাবে।পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরের দিঘা, হাওড়া জেলার গাদিয়াড়ায় যে সব সরকারি বাস যায় সেগুলোও অন্তরভুক্ত হবে এই অ্যাপে।

এ ছাড়া মায়াপুর, আঠপুর, জয়রামবাটি, কামারপুকুর, বেলুড় মঠ, ফুরফুরা শরীফ-এই সকল ধার্মিক স্থানে যে সকল বাস যায় তাদের অবস্থানও জানা যাবে। এই মুহূর্তে দক্ষিনেশ্বর কালিবাড়িতে কলকাতা ও অন্যান্য জেলা থেকে যে সকল বাস আসে তাদের অবস্থান এই অ্যাপে জানা যায়।

আগামী চার মাসের মধ্যেই এই পরিষেবা চালু করার জন্য সবরকম পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হচ্ছে।

 

Nobody can dictate what to wear or eat: Mamata Banerjee at Furfura Sharif

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee today slammed the divisive forces in the country and the growing intolerance in India. She said no one has the right to dictate others what to eat or what to wear. Making a strong case for freedom of religion, she said that unity is strength and divisiveness spells doom.

Speaking at an event on the occasion of Minority Rights Day at Furfura Sharif, WB CM said under her government the budget of minority affairs department had increased five fold. “Few days ago a delegation of our MPs visited the Union Minister of Minority Affairs. They asked her to increase quota for scholarships,” she added.

WB CM announced the formation of Furfura Sharif Development Authority headed by Firhad Hakim. She allotted Rs 10 crore for the working of the board.

“Everybody has a right to religion. You can practice your faith freely. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Isaai. Apas mein rehna bhai bhai,” the Chief Minister said.

Mamata Banerjee added: “We do not support Dadri killing. It is my right to eat fish. You can eat whichever meat you want. Some people wanted meat ban in Bengal during Durga Puja. I asked them will you ask a ban on fish? Don’t vegetables have life? Even plants have life. Will you ask people to stop eating vegetables? You eat what you want. Let others eat what they want.”

Vocally supporting the idea of ‘Sarva Dharma Samanyay’ she said, “Some people call their mother Ma, some call her Ammi. You cannot divide your mother. This is what Ramakrishna preached.”

In her speech, WB CM also listed the various initiatives by her government for minority development:

  • We have initiated several schemes worth Rs 75 crore at Furfura Sharif
  • We have increased budget for minority department five fold from Rs 470 Cr to Rs 2400 Cr
  • The Left distributed scholarships to 8 lakh minority students in last 4 years. We distributed scholarships to 84 lakh students
  • We have started Aliah University. Over 10000 people from Bengal went for Haj pilgrimage
  • We have introduced reservation for OBCs and minorities without touching general category
  • We have given computers to madrassahs. We are ready to recognise unaided madrassahs but we are unable to pay their salaries
  • Polytechnic colleges and ITIs are coming up. We are setting up Karma Tirthas where the youth will get jobs
  • We have built several hostels for students. We have built Minority Bhavan in 17 districts
  • We have given second language status to Urdu. We have set up Urdu Academy
  • We have instituted a Chair after Iqbal at Aliah University. He penned “Saare Jahaan Se Achha”

WB CM launches new fleet of buses for Hooghly district

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a fleet of 19 buses along 8 routes in Hooghly district today. The move is aimed at making transport even more hassle-free for common people.

She also inaugurated a host of other projects and laid the foundation stones for many more at a public function in Dankuni.

The Chief Minister inaugurated several road projects and laid the foundation stones for new madrassah buildings, hostels for minority students, tourist lodges at Furfura Sharif, Karma Tirtha, water supply projects and road projects.

WB CM distributed cycles to students under Sabuj Sathi scheme and land pattas to beneficiaries.

 

Highlights of her speech:

  • We have started a new scheme for the school students. We are giving bicycles to 40 lakh students.
  • By January, 25 lakh students will get cycles under Sabuj Sathi. By next year 40 lakh students will get cycles.
  • We have been able to provide benefits and services to 71% people in Hooghly district.
  • 19 new buses in 8 routes have been flagged off today for Hooghly district.
  • Schemes worth Rs 75 crore have been taken up for the area around Furfura Sharif.
  • At Arambagh I had laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 400 crore.
  • From ITIs, Kisan Bazaars to Multi Super Speciality hospitals, we are working for people.
  • We have made beds and medicines free at government hospitals. We have started fair price medicine shops offering up to 70% discount.
  • Doctors have been asked to write generic names of medicines.
  • We have started a dialysis unit in Hooghly district. Procedures like these are available at discounted prices.
  • We have started fair price diagnostic centres that offer procedures like MRI and CT Scan at nominal prices. We have started CCUs also.
  • We are giving 30% subsidy and accidental insurance to self-help groups.
  • We have started Samajik Suraksha Scheme (Social Security Scheme) despite financial hardships.
  • We are paying for the sins of the CPM. We have increased revenues but Centre is taking away all our money.
  • I have only one goal in life. I will turnaround Bengal one day.
  • The students and youth of Bengal are our future. They will make us proud in the global stage.
  • You should be proud to say you belong to Bengal.
  • We have introduced reservation for OBCs and minorities without touching general category. We created infrastructure worth Rs 1000 Cr.
  • We are setting up 200 ITIs and polytechnic colleges, 176 Kisan Bazaars.
  • Dankuni-Furfura Sharif railway project was conceived by me.
  • We have started a new road project that will connect south and north Bengal.
  • We have increased medical seats from 1400 to 2900 in just four years.
  • There were only 30 govt colleges till 2011 in Bengal. We set up 45 new colleges in the last four years.
  • Dankuni has a huge potential. I ask the local municipality to work well.
  • Hooghly district has potential in agriculture, horticulture, cottage industries and tourism.
  • We have set up 5 new police commission rates, 75 new police stations, 88 fast-tracks.
  • We have started a housing scheme for police force.
  • CPM incurred huge debt in its final years so that the new government won’t be able to work.

 

 

WB CM proposes a number of schemes for poor at the Assembly

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee asked all to join hands and work together for the development of the State while speaking at the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. She also said that the Trinamool Congress members will lay down their lives but not let divisive force to set foot in Bengal and create communal tension. “Trinamool Congress workers will give up their lives but will not allow these divisive forces to set foot in Bengal. This is our pledge. Our party symbol is twin flowers,” the West Bengal Chief Minister said.

Regarding, the financial crisis of the State, the Chief Minister elaborated that she has written to the Prime Minister re-stressing for a special package for West Bengal. “The devolution of more Central Grants from 32% to 42% comes with a footnote, it clubs nearly seven central projects which was already there. So it’s a misnomer really. West Bengal is unique in that case, where a significant part of our revenue is spent on debt servicing. It is imperative that this demand (to grant a special status) is met. From the UPA-2 regime to NDA we’ve only got assurances in this regard,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister laid down a proposal for the workers of the closed tea gardens. She said that a fund of Rs 100 crore may be formed for their welfare. She also proposed that the Kendu leave collectors may be registered with Social Security Scheme.

The Chief Minister also laid down statistics which proved that the State was in a much better position compared to others regarding crime against women.

The West Bengal Chief Minister also announced that the Furfura Sharif Development Council is being set up with the Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim as one of the heads.

The Chief invited the members of the Opposition Party members to join a delegation that will meet the Prime Minister and place the demands of the State for immediate relief from the debt burden, so that growth and development efforts continue unhindered.
